Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

With Easter quickly approaching, I wanted to share with you one more card using an Easter-themed stamp from Verses Rubber Stamps.  This card features the "Christ the Lord" #EA0257-E stamp from Verses, and I paired it with Follow Your Heart "Be Happy" papers from My Mind's Eye.  I also used several Die-Namics from My Favorite Things on this card, including the Textile Rectangle, Dizzy Doily, Simply Scallops and Mini Rolled Roses.  Across the bottom is a scalloped pearl border... a sweet birthday treat sent to me earlier this month by my fabulous friend Danielle!

I sang this old hymn over and over as I made this card.... it makes me so anxious to joyfully sing it on Easter morning in just a little over a week!  :)

Happy stamping, and thanksabunch for stopping by today!

Flourishes Friday Focus

The Flourishes Sr. Design team today is focusing on one of the most beautiful sets in the store... Signs of Spring.  I just love the big daffodil in this set, so I made sure it was the main focus of my card today.  Oh, BTW... wanna' hear a funny?  When I was a toddler, I apparently called these flowers "dack-o-dils"!  My Mom still refers to them as dack-o-dils if I'm around!  My "dack-o-dil" was colored with Copics from the Daffodil and Evergreen collections, with a little bit of YR23 from the *brand new* Beehive collection.  I stamped my daffodil three times, cutting out and layering for dimension.  I used the new Graphic 45 "Little Darlings" 8x8 paper pad for my card.  This is baby-themed paper in this collection, but there are some great basic patterns like the gingham and butterflies I used here, as well!  Embellishments include Ivory Crochet Trim, some Kaisercraft pearls and a seam binding bow.  Spellbinders products used include the Labels Nineteen Nestabilities, and the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.

And here's a bit of good news.... you can get this great stamp set with your own "dack-o-dil" for 10% off through the weekend!

The rest of the Flourishes Design team members have beautiful Spring samples to share with you today, so be sure to check out their blogs!

Thanksabunch for stopping by to see my "dack-o-dil" today!

We grow old because...

I've had some wicked insomnia lately, and during one of my sleepless hours earlier this week, the idea for this card popped into my head.  I'm totally thrilled with how it turned out, using this "Quit Playing" #BB0604-D from Verses Rubber Stamps paired with the silhouette from the Flourishes "Kids Play" stamp set.  The papers I used are "Sidewalks" from October Afternoon.

Thanksabunch for stopping by today... I appreciate your visits and comments!

Cards for Sale Updated

Just a note... my Cards for Sale page has been updated!

Color Throwdown #185

It's Color Throwdown time again, and this week Broni is our hostess.  I just LOVE this great inspiration photo she found for us this week... isn't that pink bike cool with the great vintage wallpaper?  We'd love to see what you can do with these colors.  Link your creation up on the Color Throwdown blog for all to see!

For my card, I had to get this new Dance in the Rain stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps inky!  She's just too cute, doing her little rain dance?  I added some rain drops around her for dimension, and colored with Copics (of course!)  The gingham paper I used here is from the Lilybee "Double Dutch" Tiny Tablet, and the pink polka dot paper is from October Afternoon.  My layout is very loosely based on Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #155, turned on its side.

Timeless Tuesday #162

It's time again for another Timeless Tuesday challenge, and sadly my last one!  Because of the demands of my new job, I've decided to step down from this team, but do not fear... I will still be using my Flourishes stamps each week as a member of the Sr. Design Team!  Stay tuned next week for some exciting changes and additions to the Timeless Tuesday team.

Makiko is our challenge hostess this week, and because Easter is less than two weeks away, she is challenging us to create cards with an Easter theme.  So I pulled out the beautiful "He is Risen" stamp set (actually it was still out from creating this card from yesterday!) and made this card using some gorgeous Prima "Meadow Lark" paper and pretty white Cotton Lace Trim.  Nestabilities used include Petite Ovals, Labels Eighteen and the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.  I used Copics from the *brand new* Pistachio collection, and Y21 from the Sunflower collection.

Please be sure and visit the other Timeless Tuesday team members for more Easter-themed inspiration...

Christ is Risen

I've got a quick card to share with you today using a great Easter quote from Verses Rubber Stamps.  My bow makes a bit of a shadow over the beginning of the quote (I'm such a poor photographer!)  You may be able to click on the photo for a closer look, but I will tell you it says "Spring bursts today, for CHRIST IS RISEN and all the earth's at play."  This stamp is "Christ is Risen" #EA0258-E from Verses, and I paired with this beautiful lily-covered cross from the "He is Risen" set from Flourishes.  I embellished simply with some lavender satin ribbon and white pearls, embossed the background with the "Kassie Brocade" Cuttlebug folder, and cut out the image and sentiment with a Labels Eight Nestabilities die.

Happy Monday!  Thanksabunch for stopping by!

Bookmark It! Class Today

I have several lovely ladies coming to my house today for my Corner Bookmark class, and these are the bookmarks we'll be making!  I'm so excited, and anxious for them to arrive so we can get started!  :)

For this first one, the tulips are from the April Showers stamp set from Flourishes, along with a Tailor-Made Classic Tag Die stamped with a sentiment from the Tiny Flowers & Tags stamp set.  The papers used here are from Lilybee Designs "Handmade" Tiny Tablet.  I added some Divine Twine, and border made with the Queen of Hearts die from The Cat's Pajamas.  Also Nestabilities Large Scalloped Square and Classic Square dies for the "frame" behind the tulips.

For this bookmark, I took some inspiration from Makiko Jones and Beate Johns and their corner bookmarks made for the Timeless Tuesday challenge last month.  This image of daisies and books is from the Flourishes "From the Desk of..." stamp set, and I added a tag again using the Tailor-Made Classic Tag Die, stamped with a Tiny Flowers & Tags sentiment.  The Nestabilities Circle is embossed with the Kassie Brocade Cuttlebug folder, and the gingham paper is Lilybee Designs "Double Dutch" Tiny Tablet.  For this one, I'm figuring on letting everyone choose their own color of gingham paper from the paper pad and coordinating cardstock and seam binding colors.  The punched border at the bottom is Stampin' Up!

This last design was also inspired by a recent corner bookmark made for the Timeless Tuesday challenge by our then Guest Designer, Tera Fujan.  I just loved what she did with her bookmark, and was going to just CASE her design completely.  But recently I picked up the Woodgrain Fence Die-Namics die from My Favorite Things, and there it was laying on my table when I set out to make this bookmark and an idea sprang into my head.  And here's the final result!  I used Purple Hydrangea and Tea Leaves Versamagic Dew Drops to ink up the lilac (from Flourishes Lilac stamp set), stamped it on kraft cardstock and then cut it out and inked the edges a little with some Antique Linen Distress ink.  The fence was also cut out with kraft cardstock and embossed to get the woodgrain effect, then inked lightly with some Tea Dye Distress ink.  The sentiment used here is from the Lenten Rose stamp set.  I figure that one leaf sticking up at the top will likely get a little raggedy after some time being used as a bookmark.  So that's why I distress the edges a little with some ink so the whole thing will just kinda' take on an "aged" look!  :)

So, those are my bookmarks for today's class!  If the interest is there, I can do this class again sometime!  Or gather a group of your friends (if you don't live close by) and I'll come to you!  :)

Happy stamping, and thanksabunch for stopping by!

Flourishes Friday Free-for-All

It's Flourishes Friday Free-for-All again this week, and the team is ready to review all the beautiful stamps from the March New Release with you one more time.  Whadya' think?  Aren't all the new stamps... Mother's Words of Wisdom, Botanical Bookplates Vol 1, and Magnolias.... STUNNING?  I love them all!

For my card today, I chose to use the Magnolias again, this time making them a beautiful creamy color (which we don't see too often around here... mostly they're pink!)  I used the Mojo Monday sketch for my layout, and some new Bo Bunny "Country Garden" papers.  I embellished with some lovely Ivory Lace Trim, May Arts Textured Two-Tone Light Blue ribbon, and some Kaisercraft pearls.  The "Hi!" sentiment is from the Magnolias stamp set, and stamped on a Tailor-Made Classic Tags Die.  Other dies used are the Classic Scallop Border and Labels Eleven.

I used the Copic Creamy and Evergreen collections to color my magnolias, along with B00 from the Sky collection.

Today is the last chance for you to pick up all the new stamp sets in the New Release Bundle, and save 10% so don't miss out!

More inspiration can be found with my Sr. Design Team sisters...

Happy Friday, and thanksabunch for stopping by!
