Color Throwdown #460

Hello friends!  It’s my second week of joining the Color Throwdown team again as their Guest Designer, and we have a great color combo for you today that I’m sure will spark some great creativity!

swatch460

I found this combo to be just perfect because I needed to make a baby boy card…

Color Throwdown #460

I used the retired LJD Beautiful Baby stamp set from My Favorite Things for that sweet elephant, stamped in Blueberry dye ink.  I accented with some green gingham paper from the Farm Fresh Gingham paper pack, along with a Blueberry card stock Fishtail Flag, stamped with stars.

Please be sure to stop by the CTD blog for all the challenge details, and visit the CTD team members for more inspiration…

Babies Everywhere…

My daughters friend had a baby recently, and some dear friends got two new granddaughters within a month, so I needed some baby cards!  Luckily this new All Our Dreams stamp just arrived at my house from Lili of the Valley!
For the baby boy, I made this one…

And for the girls, I made these cards using the layout from Sweet Sunday sketch #206

All three are pretty simple, but they serve the purpose.  :)

Welcome Little One

There was a baby shower at work this week, so I had to make up a little card to go with my gift…
baby duck
This little duck is a digital image from the Nature Babies stamp set at Angel’s Landing, and I paired it with some Graphic 45 papers.  The sentiment is from Never a Loss 4 Words from Kitchen Sink Stamps.  And finally, my card layout is from Seize the Sketch #4 for this week.
Happy weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Flourishes Free-for-All Friday

It's Flourishes Free-for-All Friday and this week the Sr. Design team is reviewing the new release stamp sets from last week.  I hope you decided to spend a little stamping money and pick up some of those new sets for yourself... Love & Lace, Antique Lace Background, Botanical Bookplates vol. 2 and Hello Baby!  If you didn't do a little shopping, there's still time to take advantage of the New Release Bundle and save 10%, but hurry... the offer ends tonight at midnight!

Since we're expecting the arrival of two baby boys in the coming month, I decided to make another baby card this week so I'm prepared for these arrivals!

I colored the onesie from the Hello Baby stamp set with Copics from the Robin's Egg Collection.  The papers I used here are from the Little Darlings 8x8 paper pad from Graphic 45, and I paired it with some Textured Two-Tone Light Blue ribbon and some Kaisercraft pearls.  Nestabilities used are the Standard Circle and Classic Scalloped Circle.

I hope you'll visit the rest of the Flourishes Sr. Designers today and see their creations using the new release stamps...

Thanksabunch for stopping by today!

Flourishes New Release, Day Three

Hi all, and welcome to the final day of Flourishes’ Release Week! And, guess what? If you like what you’ve seen on our designers’ blogs this week, I’m happy to report that all four of Flourishes’ new sets for April are in the Flourishes store!! Just click HERE to see for yourself!
Are you ready to see our last set being revealed today? It’s a sweet set that’s perfect for any new bundle of joy in your life. When we told Marcella Hawley that we needed a new baby set in our collection, she couldn’t have drawn a more precious set of images!

A baby is a blessing! So, why not use this darling set called Hello Baby to welcome that new little person in your life! This set features three main images plus  a series of mix and match sentiments. What’s even more fun is some of the sentiments are designed to be stamped on the baby onsie, allowing you to create a customized card for a newborn boy or girl! This set measures 4″ by 6″.

For my card, I used a variety of Copics from the different Flourishes collections to color this sweet little scene.  The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and cut out with a Nestabilities Large Circle die, which I sponged with a little Antique Linen Distress ink.  The sentiment flag is also a Nestabilities die from the Nested Pennants set.  The papers on my card are from the Graphic 45 8x8 pad called Little Darlings... a PERFECT paper pad to go with this set!

Would you like to win this new set? All you need to do is leave some love in the form of a comment on the blogs below! Why? You need to try to figure out…..

One of the ladies on our link list below will be picking a name from the comments on her blog post today. We don’t know which one it is… so the more blogs you leave comments on, the more chances you have to win!

Little Punkin'

The Crazies are back again this week, and our challenge is being sponsored by Creations by AR! Adela has some awesome templates on her site which I know the "Crazies" have had fun playing with for our challenge this week. The templates come in all formats: PDF, SVG and DXF so that you can use them with your electronic die cutting machines or cut by hand if you don't have a machine. This week's winner will receive two templates of their choice from Creations by AR.

For my card, I am using the Baby Onesie template. You can create a small gift box, or a card with this template. I cut all my pieces out with my Cricut, but since it's also available in pdf format, you can easily just cut everything out by hand, as well.

Under the collar tabs, I put some small Velcro dots to hold the card closed. The green paper here is Bazzill Swiss Dots, and the flowered paper at the top is Jillibean Soup "Apple Cheddar Soup" from the 6x6 pad. The tiny flower on the color is from Webster's Pages, and my ribbon is seam binding (thanks Bar!)

See how the other girls have gone crazy with these templates...

Happy weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Mojo

My daughter Kelsey and I made supper this past weekend for a couple from our church with a new baby girl, and of course I had to make up a quick card to deliver to them along with their supper. I pulled out an old Taylored Expressions stamp set to stamp this baby onsie on some Bo Bunny paper, and for the sentiment. The layout is based on the Mojo Monday Sketch #172 from this past week. I used my beloved Sentiment Flag die from Lil' Inker Designs for the "congrats" sentiment. The scalloped border is the Little Open Scallop Strip Die-Namics from My Favorite Things.
That's all for now... short and sweet! Hope you had a great weekend!

Don't miss viewing all our NEW! Release items
Stop by and view our *NEW* Gallery!

So for my card today for the blog hop, I am using the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge! Laura has picked this interesting combination of colors... at first I thought "what am I gonna' do with that?" but for some reason it spoke "baby card" to me, and so I even cheated a little and added a touch of green so that it could be for a boy or a girl! This frame and sentiment are from the Sign It stamp set, and the pretty flowered paper I used is the Bringing Home Baby Girl digital papers in the MTME store. I used Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #89 for my layout.
For more inspiration using these colors, stop by the Throwdown blog or visit the blogs of my Throwdown sisters (including our new Guestie for September!)

Silke Ledlow, September Guestie

And my big bad excuse for not having a little shoppe or house to show you today with the Shop Around mega template is simply because I'm a rookie! I really wanted to give it a try, but life has been overwhelming lately and I'm just getting acclimated to this new team of awesome girls, so I'm playing the rookie card! Most of the time you'll just see me making cards with the stamps and digital papers that are available! The other girls do a fabulous job with the templates, so I'll leave you to drool over their creations today!

Don't forget... leave a comment to be eligible to win! You never know, maybe my blog is the one!

Thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #92

We've got another great Color Throwdown challenge for you this week, and Barbara is the hostess. Check out the Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, then put on your creative caps and give these pretty colors a try!

For my card, I chose to use my fresh-from-the-mailbox-because-she-ships-lightning-quick stamp set from Taylored Expressions! This is "Hangin' Out" and I just had to get this set because the idea behind it came from my awe-mazing friend and Paper Craft Planet sister, Sankari Wegman! It's a super-cute stamp set, with lots of options for different things to hang on the clothesline! I also used the sketch challenge from Taylor's blog for this week for the layout.
See what my awe-mazing Throwdown sisters have created for this week for further inspiration!
