*NEW* eP “Get Altered” Challenge

We’re starting a new monthly challenge at eclectic Paperie… the “Get Altered” challenge, and we hope you’ll join in and play along!  The “Get Altered” challenge will be held on the first Thursday of each month, and each challenge is an opportunity for you to be inspired by one of our eTeam’s creations, and to be entered into our prize drawing!  This week’s challenge is to use canvas in your project!  (Please read below for full challenge details, or visit the eP blog.)
eP010313
I created a card for today’s challenge using an Inkssentials Surfaces Natural Sticky-Back Canvas ATC for my main image.  I stamped this poppy image with Jet Black Staz-On ink then watercolored with a Tim Holtz Water Brush using Barn Door and Peeled Paint Ranger distress inks.  The “friend” definition sentiment is from the Wplus9 “Defining Words” stamp set, also stamped in Jet Black Staz-On ink.  The layout for my card comes from the Retro Sketch #44 for this week.

On the inside, I repeated one definition from the Defining Words stamp set, and added another.

The Get Altered Challenge is about exploring your creative journey, about stepping outside of your comfort zone, experimenting with new products, and creating altered and mixed media art.  Share a unique card, a scrapbook or journal page, a canvas, or any other project where you’ve used paint, ink, paper, and embellishments.  We want to see your work and hear about your inspiration!
All those who play along with our challenge will be entered into a prize drawing for a $15.00 gift certificate to the eclectic Paperie online store.
So grab your supplies and play along!  Here are a few things to keep in mind for this challenge…

-You do not have to use products sold in the eP store…but we do love it when you do!
-Share a direct link to your creation, not just your blog, using the Linky Tools feature at the end of the post on the eP blog.  If, for any reason, the Linky Tools doesn’t cooperate, please add a link in the Comments section of the blog.
-When uploading to any online galleries, please use any of the following keywords; eP, eclectic Paperie or Get Altered Challenge.  Link your creations to the eP blog.
-If you’d like to be considered as one of our featured projects and be entered into our prize drawing, please be sure to add your link no later than 6:00 pm EST on Wednesday, January 16th.  We’ll announce the winner/featured project right before the eTeam Picks Challenge.

Can’t wait to see what YOU create!

Color Throwdown #179

It's Color Throwdown Wednesday and this week Kristin is our hostess with this pretty color combo!  And please forgive me... I know it's only Tuesday night as I type this but I've already had a long week, so this post is gonna' be super-short-and-sweet!

For my card, I chose an easy layout and this adorable little "On the Pot Girl" image by Mo Manning, available at Stamping Bella.  The gingham and striped papers I used are from My Mind's Eye.

Visit my Throwdown sisters for more inspiration...

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Happy New Year-2011 Favorites

I have always found it fun the last few years to take a look back at my blogging year and pick my favorite cards from each month, so here goes.  I hope you'll enjoy this as much as I always do!

In January, this card for Color Throwdown #125 using a beautiful stamp from Verses Rubber Stamps was at the top of my favorites list for the whole year, too.

Do you ever make cards that you're so pleased with that you can't help but keep going back to them and looking?  This February Timeless Tuesday birthday card using the Friendly Reminders set from Flourishes was like that for me!

As I recall, I had quite a few favorites in March and had to do some serious narrowing down of the competition.  In the end, this Penny Black duck still just stole my heart, from another Color Throwdown challenge.

This special birthday card back in April, combined with another Timeless Tuesday challenge was a no-brainer as far as my favorite for that month.  I used the Lenten Rose stamp set from Flourishes on this card, along with my recently-acquired High Tea Party Doily Die-Namics die from My Favorite Things of which I am still madly in love with 8 months later!  :)

The beach scene created on this card for May had me dreaming of warm temps and sunny shores, for sure.  This vacation-themed card for the Crazy 4 Challenges team was high-ranking for May, using the Beach Life stamp set from Flourishes.

Another Timeless Tuesday card took top honors for June using the Butterflies & Blossoms stamp set from Flourishes.

July's favorite card led me to this creation for a Bellarific Friday Sketch challenge, using some distress inks for the background and a few Stamping Bella stamps.

In August, I pulled out some Kitchen Sink Stamps that Maria was kind enough to gift me with when she visited Ohio back in June to create some fabulous hot pink cowgirl boots on this card!  I'd love to have a pair of boots like these!

Several times in 2011 I was honored to join the fabulously talented girls on the Stamp Simply Store team in some challenges, and this card from a suede ribbon challenge back in September was hands-down a fave!

In October, another card created for a Color Throwdown challenge was the front-runner featuring one of my most favorite characters in stamping... Mavis!

November's favorite card was this Timeless Tuesday creation for Flourishes using the Vintage Postcard stamp set, and the Dryer Sheet Technique.  I find it hard now to contemplate trying this technique on another card, because it just seems so perfectly suited for this stamp set!  LOL

And finally in December, one of my most-recent favorite cards was this one using the newly released Pears set from Flourishes.  This stamp set can have you dreaming of warmer weather and fresh fruit, for sure!

On top of these cards, a LOT of my favorites for 2011 were also created for the Dirty Dozen galleries at Splitcoaststampers... a team I'm incredibly proud to have joined this past year!  I can't show you some of those cards here on my blog as yet, but if you're a Fan Club member at SCS you can hop over to my gallery by clicking here to see them!

AND if you're not a Fan Club member, you really should be especially if you're someone like me who has gotten years of encouragement and inspiration from visiting SCS.  Yes, it's a free site to use but I have always been a Fan Club member as a way to give back to a community who has given me so much.  Please consider a half or full year membership if you feel the same way to show your appreciation!

I wish you many of God's blessings in 2012, and happy stamping!  Thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday Ready for Fall

The Bella Babes are getting ready for Fall today by using all the colors of Fall for today's challenge. I hope a LOT of the Sistahood played along with us today! Stop over at Blogabella and check out the line-up today!

For my card, I decided to do a little watercoloring with the Flower Garden stamp from Stamping Bella, and pairing it with some Bo Bunny "Forever Fall" paper. The layout for my card was inspired by Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge. I was able to extend the one flower outside of the Nestabilities circle by using the Out of the Box technique. A good tutorial for that can be found here.

To give this card just a little something extra, I spritzed the circle with some Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls which gave it just a little shimmer.

I hope you'll stop over at Blogabella and check out all the Fall-colored creations from the Babes, and the Bella Sistahood! Ya' know anyone who participates is in the running to win some major Bella Bucks to spend in the online store! AND just for leaving a comment on the Bellarific Friday post at Blogabella you can ALSO win some Bella Bucks! Just for leavin' a comment! How easy is that?

Monday, Monday...

Hello everyone... I'm back today with my Bella Monday post. Did you have a good weekend? Mine was nice and relaxing... I had plenty that needed to get done that I didn't get to, but hopefully my day off today will yield more productivity! :)

For my card today, I made this card using sweet Amplee'tude with her ice cream. My image is colored on Bella's Bestest White cardstock with Copic markers, and paired with some Pink Paislee "Vintage Vogue" papers. The layout for my card was inspired by the October Sketch for You to Try.

I couldn't find a good spot on the front for the sentiment, so I stuck it inside! :)
That's all for today.... happy Monday, happy stamping!

Bellarific Friday

Hey everyone, happy Bellarific Friday! For today's challenge, the Babes and the Sistahood are creating popped-up cards... get out that foam tape and pop dots and raise up the stuff on your card!

For my card, I decided to use Spooooooky Stella, along with some "Phantom" papers from Pink Paislee. Stella is colored with Copics on Bella's Bestest White cardstock.

I cut out an extra pumpkin and the bat from the image and mounted them with foam tape for added dimension, as you can see here (but of course, Stella's arm looks a little disjointed from this angle!) I also cut my letters out on the Cricut and mounted them with foam tape, too!
I hope you'll stop over at Blogabella and check out all the popped-up creations from the Babes, and the Bella Sistahood! Ya' know anyone who participates is in the running to win some major Bella Bucks to spend in the online store! AND just for leaving a comment on the Bellarific Friday post at Blogabella you can ALSO win some Bella Bucks! Just for leavin' a comment! How easy is that?

Now, if you want to play along with us next week all you have to do is create a card using Stamping Bella stamps and Fall colors! Easy-peasy lemon squeezie, so no excuses.... JOIN US! Email your creation to Emily by Thursday evening!

Color Throwdown #161

Kristin is our hostess for the Color Throwdown this week, and I am just LOVING the color combo she chose! It's based on the lovely papers I used on my card... a package of digital papers she designed for My Time Made Easy called Trendy Forest. With all these cute trees, I thought Mavis on her swing would be perfect for my card today!

OK, so I'm trying out this new Inlinkz manager this week and thought I'd try it to link up my team mates. I really like using it to link up the products I used, but I don't know if I'll like it for team links.... we'll see.

Below are thumnails for the products I used on my card! With this fabulous new tool, you can just click on the photos and be taken right to the website where they're available!

Happy stamping!
