Catered Crop Recipe Swap… and a little announcement!

Linda has a new Recipe Swap up this week over at the Catered Crop blog that I’m sure you’re going to want to check out…the Animal House Recipe Swap!  We’re going to get wild with this challenge. No, it’s not a Toga party or a food fight like the 1978 John Belushi classic. Just add wild life, pets, or any animal (dogs, cats, bears . . . ) anywhere in your creation. And party on!
So here’s my animalistic creation…
CCAnimalHouse
I had a few animal stamps come to mind when I learned what this challenge would be, but decided to sort through some of my less-often-used stamps to see what else I could find, and came across this Mo Manning Bunny with Gift stamp!  I think I’ve had this for 2 or 3 years, and have never inked it up, so the timing was perfect.  Now, my stamp came in rubber from Stamping Bella, but I don’t see it anymore in their store.  However, you can still get the digital version from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  I colored with Copics, added some glitter, and used Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch #198 for the layout.

Now… for that little announcement!  A few weeks ago I got some really happy email from none other than the Head Chef herself at Catered Crop, Linda McClain!  She was looking to fill a few slots on her team and wondered if I’d like to join?  Didn’t take me very long to answer “heck, yeah!”  And I’m thrilled to be working alongside some other fabulous designers there, too… check ‘em all out over there in my right sidebar.
So I’m super excited to share this challenge with you today, and hope you’ll play along!  I can’t wait to see what you’re going to create!  Go unleash your inner stamping animal!  :)

I’m CrAzY! - C4C175

C4C logo
Yep, I’m going crazy… again!  :)  Since I lightened my load recently of company design teams, I decided to take up again with the girls over at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog!  Jocelyn has been with the team since it started way back when, but decided recently to step down and with her vacancy, they asked me to come back again!  The cards I can create for the challenges will help me continue my new commitment to make more cards to actually send to people, plus I get to hang out with these super-talented girls again!
So, today’s challenge (and all the challenges for the month of March) is to create a card with a window.  You can use a stamped window, a window die, or if you don’t have either then create a window-style card.  And remember, you can be looking inside or outside through a window!
So, here’s my window…

I kept thinking that I didn’t have any window stamps, and then remembered this Mo Manning “Rustic Window Box” stamp I had!  Now, my stamp came from Stamping Bella, but I don’t think it’s sold in that store anymore.  But, Mo does still have it available HERE as a digital download!  I colored with Copics, and added some Crystal Lacquer to the window panes (can’t see in the photo, though!)  The papers I used here are Pebbles “Walnut Grove” from i {heart} papers.
If you decide to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C175. And don't forget to hop back over to the C4C blog and link it on the Inlinkz so that everyone else can see it too.
Need some inspiration?  Be sure to visit the other crazies…
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy stamping!

One Shoe…

special order Cinderella

I had an Etsy customer recently request a special order card using this image, and a “shoe” sentiment for the inside, similar to a card she bought from me a few years ago.  So I used this sweet Cinderella digital image from Mo’s Digital Pencil, colors with Copics and made up this card using some new My Mind’s Eye papers.  I loosely followed the Deconstructed Sketch #89 for this week for the layout.

On the inside, I computer-generated this sentiment and printed it on more paper from the 6x6 paper pad…

Happy stamping, happy weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #179

It's Color Throwdown Wednesday and this week Kristin is our hostess with this pretty color combo!  And please forgive me... I know it's only Tuesday night as I type this but I've already had a long week, so this post is gonna' be super-short-and-sweet!

For my card, I chose an easy layout and this adorable little "On the Pot Girl" image by Mo Manning, available at Stamping Bella.  The gingham and striped papers I used are from My Mind's Eye.

Visit my Throwdown sisters for more inspiration...

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Lift Up Your Face

One of my most favorite Christian music groups is Third Day, and their recent single "Lift Up Your Face" always makes me think of this Mo Manning image. I think it's fun to imagine what must be going through this cute girls head as she spins in the sunlight and dances with her doll! So I just had to create a card with that in mind.
The papers I used here are a combination of My Mind's Eye (the big polka dots) and October Afternoon (the stripes and small polka dots.) These colors make me want Spring to arrive SO much! I will truly go out and dance on the lawn just like this girl and rejoice when all the snow is melted! I won't even care that it's muddy!
Find a reason to lift up your face today, and give praise to God! Remember how much you're loved!

The Bat Cat

Over at Paper Craft Planet, there's a fairly new group that formed for a great digital stamp company called Mo's Digital Pencil! The PCP design team girls have talked quite a bit about what great images there are available, so I took the plunge this past weekend and purchased a few stamps. This little Bat Cat was one I just couldn't resist, and PURR-fect for getting me into gear with some Fall designs!

I used the Sketch for You to Try from I {heart} 2 Stamp for the layout of my card. My flower was colored with the YR07 Copic marker to match the rest of the colors. And this paper I used is actually the Mango Luau collection from Bo Bunny, but when I spotted it a few weeks ago, I thought it'd be perfect for some Halloween cards!
Here's a little close-up of Bat Cat's mask... you can see a little bit of the sparkle I added by painting over it with Angel Wings Shimmerz!
And here's the inside, which I can customize for whenever I decide to use this card (or sell it in my Etsy shop!)
Stop on over at the store for Mo's Digital Pencil and check out the fabulous digi-stamps available! You will NOT be sorry!

Thanks for stopping by today! I appreciate your visits and comments VERY much!
