Wanted to just share this quick card with you today with a verse that'd be perfect for Father's Day.  This stamp is "A Good Man" #FM0282-F from Verses Rubber Stamps.  I used Authentique "Loyal" paper available at StopandScrap.com and the layout for my card is from the Waltzing Mouse sketch challenge for this week.  The sketch was just perfect for this very clean and simple masculine design.  I just embellished very simply with a few buttons threaded with baker's twine.

Flourishes Noontime Challenge

Today brings the second of two Noontime Challenges with Flourishes!  Play along and YOU could win the entire May New Release!  Today's challenge is "Let's Hear it for the Boys!"  This challenge is all about the men in your life -- no matter what the age! For my card, I used the image of the father and son playing some football from the new Father's Day stamp set.  I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder (the sentiment, too).  I cut out the image with a Nestabilities Rectangle die, embossed the edges and sponged inside with a little Antique Linen ink.  I kept the whole card pretty simple, since it's supposed to be "for the boys!"  I embellished with some Ivory Cotton Twill, baker's twine, and a football charm from my stash (I knew those things would get used some day!)  The papers I used are from Cosmo Cricket's "The Boyfriend" mini-deck, shown below... which is also on sale right now in the Flourishes online store since there's a great Spring sale going on!  Be sure to check it out HERE.

Flourishes New Release #2 - Father's Day

It's the second day of new release sneak peeks at Flourishes and today we've got the new Father's Day set to share with you, another fabulous silhouette stamp set from the creative mind of Lauren Pope!

My card today features one of the three images from the set, stamped in Imperial Blue Versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut out the image with a Labels Ones Nestabilities die, and added a sentiment flag cut with a Nested Pennant die and attached with a silver mini library clip.  The papers I used on my card are from the Authentique "Loyal" paper pad and my card layout is from the Card Positioning Systems sketch #264.

Timeless Tuesday #120

Wow, it's so hard to believe we're up to challenge #120 for Timeless Tuesday! The days just fly by! I decided to create a Father's Day card for the challenge, using the wood-grain paper from October Afternoon for my dark grey, and Kraft for the caramel (because I LOVE my Kraft cardstock!) This stamp set is the new What a Catch set, and has a bunch of wonderful images and sentiments that are perfect for the fishing sons, fathers and grandfathers in your life! I talked my hubby into digging through his tackle box and finding me an old hook to embellish the twill ribbon! For safety, I had him cut off the barb! :)
