Color Throwdown #157

It's Color Throwdown time again this week, and Barbara is our hostess this week with a beautiful color combo! My first though of this was ICK! and of course, I gave her a REALLY hard time about it, but please do give it a try... it's really a beautiful combination!

I actually found this gorgeous "Reflections" paper from Prima to be a perfect match for these colors, so I pulled out several pieces and ran with it! The pumpkins and sentiment I used here are from JustRite Stampers (Autumn Blessings and Nature's Nested Sentiments), and I used Iwona's Sketchbook Saturday #26 for the layout. I embellished with some crinkled seam binding and KaiserCraft chocolate pearls. My stamps, paper and pearls are all from the Stamp Simply Store.... looks like the Autumn Blessings set is sold out, but be sure to check out what else Sharon has in stock!)

Check out the creations from my Throwdown sisters for today for more inspiration...

Timeless Tuesday #133 - Bingo!

It's time for another Timeless Tuesday challenge, and this week Silke is hosting a big Bingo game for the challenge! Just check out the "Bingo card" below and pick a row either horizontal, vertical or diagonal and create using the three elements in the row! Link your creation up on the Flourishes blog so we can see what you created, and be sure to let us know which row you chose to work with!

I went straight down the middle for my creation with piercing, pearls and ribbon to create my card using the From the Desk of.... stamp set. I have a little bit of piercing around the edge of the circle, some KaiserCraft pearls (that I colored gray with a N7 Copic) and a gray pearl stick pin, and a big seam binding bow for the ribbon. My image was colored on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock using some Copics from the Dahlia collection and the Fields collection.

For more inspiration, please stop by and see what the other Flourishes bloggers have to share with you today...

You're My #1!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend, and I hope all my East coast friends and readers weathered the storm and are safe today!

Being the mom of teenage girls, I am frequented taken back to my own teenage years and the days when "boys are stupid!" was uttered quite often. Oh, the drama! Well, my youngest daughter was in that "boys are stupid!"state this past weekend so I thought I would color up You're My Number One-abella and slip it in her tote bag this morning to cheer her up.

I added some turquoise Spica glitter pen to the polka dots on the #1 for a little bling. The papers I used here are My Mind's Eye "Life of the Party."

Don't forget the Bellarific Friday challenge this week is "Back to School!" If you'd like to join us for the challenge and be featured in the Bella Sistahood line-up on the Stamping Bella blog, we'd love to see your creations! Emily a card using Stamping Bella stamps with a back-to-school theme to Emily by Thursday night to be included!

Happy stamping, happy Monday!

Boy CrAzY!

Yep, that's right.... we're BoY cRaZy this week on the C4C blog! Well, not exactly.... Frances is our challenge hostess for this last week of August, and if you didn't already know, Frances is an Aussie from the Land Down Under! And since it's almost Father's Day in Australia, she's challenged us to create masculine-themed cards. Many of us find these hard to do, so hopefully you'll take part in the challenge and get outside your box! Link your creation up on the C4C blog and show us what you made!

For my card, I pulled out some "Pyrus" papers from Basic Grey, and created this card using the Multi-Step Cowboy Hat set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The "cowboy" comes from this set, as well and the "hat's off to you" sentiment comes from the Never a Loss 4 Words set. I added a lot of distressing and Antique Linen ink to the edges of this card, some old gold star eyelets in the top right corner and some zig zag stitching for embellishments.

See what the other Crazies have created today to inspire you...

Happy weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Bellarific Friday Sketch

It's Bellarific Friday once again, and today Cathabella has a sketch for us! Hopefully you got a card made this past week using the sketch and sent it to Emily, so we can see it in the line-up on the Blogabella!

For my card, I was sifting through my stamps and came across Daydreamabella, and it struck me that she was the perfect image to use.... if I turned the sketch upside down! So that's what I did! :) (And you thought I had too much wine or something when you saw it above, right?)

The papers I used here are the new Boarding Pass from October Afternoon, and they're available in the Stamping Bella store! My Bella is colored with Copics on Bella's Bestest Cream cardstock.

I hope you'll stop over at Blogabella and check out all the sketch cards from the Babes, and the Bella Sistahood! And if you didn't get a chance to join us this week, how about trying for next week? Ya' know anyone who participates is in the running to win some major Bella Bucks to spend in the online store! AND just for leaving a comment on the Bellarific Friday post at Blogabella you can ALSO win some Bella Bucks! Just for leavin' a comment! How easy is that? So if you want to join us next week, we're doing a Back-to-School theme! Create a card, and email it to Emily before Thursday evening to be included in the line-up!
Happy stamping!

And so here is my birthday card for Flourishes! I created my card with a recent trend I have seen in mind.... the tangerine orange and gray color combo! Is it just me, or is this kinda' trendy lately? I saw wedding pictures on Facebook a few weeks ago where the bridesmaids all wore dark orange and gray dresses, and I just LOVED the look! Then at Target on Monday I saw baby equipment like this in the same tones of gray and orange. (It looks more red on the website, but in the store it was orange!) Well, I've never been one to turn up my nose at orange... it's my favorite color, so I thought I'd give this a try!

My card uses the new Sweet Days of Summer stamp set, and a sentiment from the matching Kid's Play stamp set. The harlequin-style designer paper is from Crate Paper, and my cardstock colors are Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral and the retired Groovy Guava, and the gray is Core'dinations.

A few of the other Flourishes designers have birthday cards to inspire you today as well, so be sure to visit their blogs...

I hope you'll join us in celebrating, and wishing Flourishes a very happy birthday and MANY MORE!

Happy stamping!

Pumpkins on the Vine Blog Hop Challenge

It's almost time for the seasons to change, and Torico has illustrated these adorable little girls, just in time for Autumn! The images in this set were sized so that they can also be used with other stamp sets from Torico's line for more versatility. Pumpkins on the Vine is a 4x6 set that includes 15 stamps and will sell for $15.

For my card, I colored up this darling girl sitting with her pumpkins and paired it with some old My Mind's Eye Halloween papers, and a seam binding bow. (The sentiment I used here is computer-generated and not part of the set.)

Inside the card is a row of pumpkins from the set, and one of the two great sentiments!

Would you like a chance to win the Pumpkins on the Vine stamp set? Here's what you need to do... go to each of the Trendsetter's Blogs and leave a comment on their Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out all the eye candy and have left some love, head over to the TSG blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly to receive their very own set, and will be announced during the Release Party on Saturday, August 27th.
Now, to continue on the hop you'll want to head on over to Tobi's blog and see her darling creation!

Color Throwdown #156

Another Wednesday... another Color Throwdown! Smiley from millan.net This week, Laura is our hostess and she's got a great color combo for you to try! I'm loving it, and I think you'll find a lot of options for using it! Give it a try, and link up your creation over on the Throwdown blog so we can see it, too!

I was thinking about those colors earlier in the week and happened to remember the wonderful shades in the "Matilda" line of papers from Cosmo Cricket, so I decided to go with a Halloween theme for my creation this week, using "Spoooooky Stella" from Stamping Bella!

The sentiment tag is computer generated... "Happy haunting, ghoul friend!" I loosely followed the sketch from Splitcoaststampers from last week for my layout.

See what the other Throwdown chics have created today using these colors...

Timeless Tuesday #132

It's Tuesday again, so we've got another Timeless Tuesday challenge to share with you from Flourishes! This week Cindy Haffner is our hostess and her challenge to you is to make a sentiment your focal image. So many of the Flourishes stamp sets have wonderful sentiments in them, so pick something and create with us! Link up your creation on the Flourishes blog, and leave some comments to be in the running to win!

For my card, I used the Moments in Time stamp set, putting the clock face in the background and the sentiment embossed on vellum to bring it front and center. The papers I used here are Webster's Pages. I added some Prima flowers for embellishment, and used a Large Circle and Lacey Circle Nestabilities for die-cutting. For the card layout, I used Iwona's Sketchbook Saturday #25.

See what the other Timeless Tuesday designers have created for today for more inspiration...

Feel Better Mavis

We have a lady at our church who recently suffered a really bad back injury. After surgery, she's now in rehab and with a lot of prayers is doing amazingly better! I thought maybe Mavis in her adorable pink dress would be good to cheer her up, so I made this card tonight to send.

Mavis has a Daisy is a Stamping Bella image, and for this card I paper-pieced her dress with some Echo Park "Country Drive" paper to match the card. The layout here is the Card Positioning Systems sketch #232 for this week.

There is still plenty of time if you'd like to get in on the sketch challenge for Bellarific Friday this week! Make a card using the sketch below, and email it to Emily by Thursday evening to be included in the Bella Sistahood line-up!

The papers I used here are the new "Odds & Ends" from Cosmo Cricket, and I used the August Sketch for You to Try for the layout.

If you like this stamp set, I know you'll love the others that were just released last week, too! And until noon Central time today, you can pick up all 4 sets at a 10% discount by buying the New Release Bundle. Hurry.... or you'll miss it!

I'm still filling in this week with the Sr. Design Team at Flourishes, so I'm happy to join in today with the Friday Free-for-All! I'm using the just-released Sweet Days of Summer set on my card today and went with an aquatic color-scheme to match my kids playing in the sprinkler!

The designer paper here (front and back showing) is from Pink Paislee, and I really like the green paired with this light blue cardstock and matching seam binding (thanks Bar!) The layout for my card was inspired by Iwona's Sketchbook Saturday challenge this week.

Hollyhocks, Italian Garden and Wild for Watermelon are available for one more day in the New Release Bundle in the Flourishes online store at 10% savings to you! Get yours soon before it's too late! Huggabugg Bellarific Friday

It's fabulous Bellarific Friday again, and this week the Bella Babes are getting the Huggabuggs inky! The Huggabuggs are illustrated by Christy Croll and are some of the cutest stamps available at Stamping Bella! (Well, they're all cute... how could anyone choose?) The Fluey Huggabugg I've used today is one I've always thought was the sweetest... how can you not think "aw, poooooor BABY!" when you look at her!? I colored Fluey up on Bella's Bestest White cardstock using Copic markers, of course. I even made her lil' cheeks pretty feverish... maybe a little too much? Someone should probably call the doctor!
The papers I used here are the new Cosmo Cricket "Odds and Ends" and the purple gingham ribbon is American Crafts (I think!) I added some Rock Candy Stickles to her little wings for sparkle.

I hope you'll stop over at Blogabella and check out all the Huggabuggs today from the Babes, and the Bella Sistahood! So if you want to join us next week, we've got a sketch challenge from Cath! Create a card using the sketch, and email it to Emily before Thursday evening to be included in the line-up!
Have a fabulous Friday and thanks for stopping by!

Make A Splash Mermaid Baby

My daughter needed a quick, inexpensive birthday gift for a friend. She knows this friend has a deep love for bubble baths so she picked up this huge bottle of sudsy stuff and brought it to me to embellish. I thought a little Green Bean Baby Mermaid from Stamping Bella was the perfect touch for it, along with a computer-generated "make a splash" sentiment!
There are actually three little baby mermaids in the set. so you can have a lot of fun with these cuties! On the bubble in her hand, I added some Rock Candy Stickles for some shimmer. The green scalloped tag is actually a folded card, so the birthday greeting can go inside.

Easy-peasy... I love it when a gift comes together quickly like this!

Don't forget, there's still time to join us for the Bellarific Friday challenge this week! If you've got any Huggabugg stamps, get 'em out and get 'em inky! Email a photo of your creation to Emily to be included in the line-up on the Bella blog tomorrow!

Happy stamping!

Color Throwdown #155

Howdy y'all! I have to have a big of a Western drawl today to go with this card, right? Smiley from millan.netToday brings us to another Color Throwdown challenge, and I was supposed to have this week off but I loved this color combo too much! I had to make a card!

Back this Winter I saw this fabulous card by Julie Masse, and loved the pink cowgirl boots on it so much! So when I had the opportunity to get a few stamp sets from Maria at Kitchen Sink Stamps, the Multi-Step Cowboy Boots was first on my list! These were so fun to stamp!

The "yee haw" sentiment comes from the other Western set from KSS, the Multi-Step Cowboy Hat. The papers I used here were Danielle's inspiration for these colors, the "Gertie" paper pad from My Mind's Eye. Ironically, that's one of the paper pads being given away in my Smiley from millan.net blog candy this week! My card layout is based on the August Sketch for You to Try.

Stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and visit my Throwdown sisters for more inspiration...
