He is Risen – Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful Sunday with family and friends, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord!

I just wanted to quickly share with you today the quick tag I made to go on a small pot of daffodils for my secret sister at church.  I used my Copics to color up this sweet Easter Bunny image from A Day for Daisies.

Then I just tied the orange ribbon around this little pot of daffodils…

Happy Easter, again and thank you for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #287

swatch 287
Hello friends!  Well, another week has flown by and we’ve got another Color Throwdown challenge to share with you.  Lori is our hostess this week, and she found this beautiful Spring centerpiece with some soft pastels for you to try.  Very similar colors to last week, but I think the paler colors make it just different enough.  I hope you’ll give it a try!
Here’s my card…
CTD287
I actually colored this image over the weekend, and then realized it would work pretty well for my card today along with this sweet Pebbles “Garden Party” paper I recently got.  I took some inspiration from the Retro Sketch #109 this week for the layout.  The image I used is from A Day for Daisies.
And speaking of this past weekend, over half of the members of the Color Throwdown team actually got together for a stamping good time in Virginia at the home of Barbara Anders!  We had SO. MUCH. FUN!!!  We stamped, and ate, and laughed, and ate, and stamped, and ate, and laughed, and had a BLAST!  Here we are on Sunday morning after we had breakfast buffet, before we all said goodbye…

Broni, Vickie and Wanda are all lucky enough to live within 2-3 hours of Barbara’s home, but my drive is 7 hours!  My husband wasn’t able to go with me, so my best friend from here at home went with me instead, and Heather (she’s front and center in the purple shirt) was graciously welcomed as our CTD “mascot” for the weekend!  LOL  As a special treat, we asked her to join us this week for the CTD challenge, and she’s so ambitious she made two cards!

Heather doesn’t have a blog, so I hope you’ll leave her some love in a comment here and I’ll make sure she’s sees it!

Bunny Treat Box - C4C178

It’s CrAzY for Challenges time again, and this week Frances is challenging us to use triangles in our designs!  Stop over at the C4C blog for all the details and play along!
Well, not being on to like this particular geometric shape that much, I felt my mojo plummet at the thought.  It must be my OCD and the fact that this is a 3-sided object… I’m just not an odd number person.  But then I did a little hunting for inspiration and came up with this idea!
C4C178
I decided to make this Bunny Treat Box for the challenge, since the base of it is triangular (sort of!)  I found this cut file in the Silhouette Online store, and knew I wanted to make some for my little kids at church, so I decided to get started by making one for this challenge.  This is really easy to make, in the style of the sour cream containers we used to make years ago, and then you can embellish as you please.  I used some bead wire for the whiskers and decided to add the bow on the ear.  And of course…..
C4C178 back
…a cottontail!  This holds 6 little foil-wrapped chocolate eggs perfectly or you could fill with M&M’s or anything you like!  I just put two temporary glue dots between each ear to hold the top closed.
Need some inspiration?  Be sure to visit the other crazies…
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy stamping!

One of My Favorite Peeps

I needed some cards to send to a few friends, so I pulled out a paper pad from My Mind’s Eye that hasn’t been shown a lot of love and made these two cards…
MFTWSC111
I used the sketch #111 from My Favorite Things for this week for the first card, using my new Pure Innocence “One of My Favorite Peeps” stamp set.  I paper-pieced the dress with some of the designer paper, and used a few Die-Namics in the design including the Simply Scallops Medium border and a flag from the Accent It – Flags and Tags.
For the second card…
warm wishes for Cindy
I pulled out this good ol’ Pooside Chicken stamp from Whipper Snapper and added a sentiment from Hero Arts.  Hopefully this warm up my friend since we’re in the midst of our usual cold Ohio winter!  There’s a few MFT Die-Namics on this card too, including the Small Scallop Border and a Fishtail Flags STAX for the sentiment.
Stay tuned for the Color Throwdown tomorrow!  My card will make you wanna’ shout Yeehaw!  :)

Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

With Easter quickly approaching, I wanted to share with you one more card using an Easter-themed stamp from Verses Rubber Stamps.  This card features the "Christ the Lord" #EA0257-E stamp from Verses, and I paired it with Follow Your Heart "Be Happy" papers from My Mind's Eye.  I also used several Die-Namics from My Favorite Things on this card, including the Textile Rectangle, Dizzy Doily, Simply Scallops and Mini Rolled Roses.  Across the bottom is a scalloped pearl border... a sweet birthday treat sent to me earlier this month by my fabulous friend Danielle!

I sang this old hymn over and over as I made this card.... it makes me so anxious to joyfully sing it on Easter morning in just a little over a week!  :)

Happy stamping, and thanksabunch for stopping by today!

Timeless Tuesday #162

It's time again for another Timeless Tuesday challenge, and sadly my last one!  Because of the demands of my new job, I've decided to step down from this team, but do not fear... I will still be using my Flourishes stamps each week as a member of the Sr. Design Team!  Stay tuned next week for some exciting changes and additions to the Timeless Tuesday team.

Makiko is our challenge hostess this week, and because Easter is less than two weeks away, she is challenging us to create cards with an Easter theme.  So I pulled out the beautiful "He is Risen" stamp set (actually it was still out from creating this card from yesterday!) and made this card using some gorgeous Prima "Meadow Lark" paper and pretty white Cotton Lace Trim.  Nestabilities used include Petite Ovals, Labels Eighteen and the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.  I used Copics from the *brand new* Pistachio collection, and Y21 from the Sunflower collection.

Please be sure and visit the other Timeless Tuesday team members for more Easter-themed inspiration...

Christ is Risen

I've got a quick card to share with you today using a great Easter quote from Verses Rubber Stamps.  My bow makes a bit of a shadow over the beginning of the quote (I'm such a poor photographer!)  You may be able to click on the photo for a closer look, but I will tell you it says "Spring bursts today, for CHRIST IS RISEN and all the earth's at play."  This stamp is "Christ is Risen" #EA0258-E from Verses, and I paired with this beautiful lily-covered cross from the "He is Risen" set from Flourishes.  I embellished simply with some lavender satin ribbon and white pearls, embossed the background with the "Kassie Brocade" Cuttlebug folder, and cut out the image and sentiment with a Labels Eight Nestabilities die.

Happy Monday!  Thanksabunch for stopping by!

CrAzY for Easter - C4C84

Time for another challenge with the Crazies this week! Our April hostess is Silke Kittman, and for this week the challenge is to create an Easter card! Stop on over at the http://crazy4challenges.blogspot.com/if you'd like more details, and play along! We'd love to see your creation!

For my card, I had no choice but to pull out Eva Bloom from Stamping Bella! She's the best Easter stamp in my collection, so I got her inky for today along with some yummy new Springtime paper from Echo Park. Oh my wow, I'm so in love with these papers! :)
See what the other Crazies have made today for more inspiration...

Happy Easter, and thanks for visiting my blog today!

CrAzY for Easter Baskets - C4C83

It's time to get CrAzY again this week! Silke Kittman is our hostess for the month, and for this week our challenge is to create an Easter gift.... a basket, box or other gift-giving idea.

Being the third Saturday of the month, this week's challenge is a sponsored challenge. This month our sponsor is Krisi's Kreations. Krisi's store sells templates which are available in a number of different formats, including PSD, TIFF, PNG, PDF & SVG.

I chose to use the Box It Up: Handle for a quick little Easter treat. I decided to use my Nestabilities oval to cut a window in the front of the box, and picked up some sugared gummi rabbits to put inside. The stamps I used here are an old set from Cornish Heritage Farms.
Stop by the C4C blog for all the challenge details, including plenty of inspiration from the design team!

Happy stamping, happy weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

TCP Tuesday 146 - Sweets!

The TCP Tuesday challenge for this past week from The Cat's Pajamas is a technique/supply challenge being hosted by my sweet friend, Julie Masse and she's got a sweet challenge this week! Make something and incorporate candy into it!

My first thought for this challenge was that I was definitely tired of making Valentines and my second thought was how much I've always loved the Spring Fling stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas and it hasn't seen ink in awhile. So I popped into the bulk food store next door at work and found some Easter candy to get the ideas flowing! Using the adorable TCP penguins for my main image, I set to work making this card with Echo Park papers that houses....
JELLY BELLY jelly beans! I just measured the jelly bean box and created a small box for the inside of the card to hold it. More Echo Park papers and another image (I LOVE that TCP Pooch driving along in his carrot car!) and sentiment complete the inside!
Once I figured out the box measurements, this was so easy to complete! I believe I'll have to make some more!

One more note... if you're so inclined, please continue to keep my daughter Kelsey in your prayers. We're heading back to the doctor again today because the issues she's been having are still not resolved. What we thought were anxiety attacks now seem to be more medical-related and the symptoms are causing the anxiety. We need to find out what's wrong so it can be treated and she can start to feel better because the past few weeks for her have been miserable. Thanks so much!

Happy Monday, and thanks for stopping by!

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge - Spring Bling!

(If you're looking for my Color Throwdown post, please click here!)

For the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge this week, we're creating cards for Spring with bling! This is one that I know everyone can join in on, so c'mon and join us! We look forward to seeing what everyone creates for the challenge! Remember, every week there is a new and exciting prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your card must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store. Whether it is any of our wonderful in-house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries, the choice is yours. Then be sure to link up your creation with Mr. Linky by next Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. EST and only one entry per person, please!

For my card, I chose to use this sweet Swiss Pixie stamp called Bunny Hansel! Isn't he sweet, with his dripping paintbrush, getting ready to color some eggs? I added some bling to this card by glittering the wings, and colored the "paint" on the brush with a Copic Spica glitter pen. Some additional bling shows up in the rhinestones in each corner, the silver cord to tie the button (which has a pearl finish) and even the white ribbon has some shimmer to it. I finished off the card by giving it a good spritz with my Psst! Shimmer Spray from Tsukineko.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Stamps: Bunny Hansel (CC Designs/All That Scraps)
Cardstock: So Saffron, Rich Razzleberry (Stampin' Up!), white (Neenah), designer paper (Green at Heart by Basic Grey)
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), markers (Copic)
Accessories: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Apron Lace border punch (Fiskars), rhinestones (Mark Richards), Pssst! Shimmer Spray (Tsukineko).

Stop by the Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and leave a link to your creation on the Inlinkz!

I chose to use this sweet Hunny Bunny stamp that I got from Whipper Snapper Designs, and some paper from the Marrakech 6x6 pad from Basic Grey that went very well with these colors.
