Color Throwdown #391–Cool

My girls over at the Color Throwdown have another great color combo with today’s challenge!  Aren’t these flowers GORGEOUS??

swatch391

I wanted to make a really cute birthday card for one of my co-workers this week, so I reached for my BB Penguins in Paradise stamp set from My Favorite Things, and used these colors for a tropical-themed card…

Color Throwdown #391

(My shades of orange here didn’t end up being very prominent, but they’re there!)  I colored with Copics, and die-cut the penguin, tree and beach ball with the matching Die-Namics.  The background is a watercolor wash of Summer Splash and Blu Raspberry premium dye inks from MFT and is speckled with some drops of water and Perfect Pearls.

I’m trying not to jinx it, but I think I may have pulled out of my stamping slump!  Smile  SOOOOO happy about that, and sooooo happy that YOU stopped by today!  Thank you for all the kind comments!

A Spiffy Birthday

I stopped by the blog at My Favorite Things on Monday night, and found this wonderful combination of colors for the current Color Challenge #44, so I sat down for some creative time (since I happily no longer have to work late on Monday nights!)  So here’s the clean and simple design I came up with using the colors of Orange Fizz, Limelight, Grapesicle and Grape Jelly

Spiffy Birthday

I’ve had the LJD Terrific Ties stamps ever since they were released, but have just never taken the time to use them.  So finally, they got inky!  I die-cut four bow ties with the matching Die-Namics, then used my MISTI to stamp each one in the challenge colors.  (I actually stamped the top one with Orange Zest ink because my Orange Fizz ink had a very yellow-cast to it.)  For the background panel, I stamped the BG Grid background with Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.  I added a sentiment from the Ties stamp set, stamped on a flag banner, mounted with foam boosters, and added some enamel dots for embellishment.  Now I’m all ready for my next masculine birthday card need!

Thanks for the great color challenge, MFT… and thank YOU for stopping by today!

Happy Mother’s Day

Well, Mother’s Day is approaching so of course I had to get a card made to send to my Mom!  I’m hoping she will love this…

Mother's Day Tulips

This Bunch of Tulips is a new stamp I got from Rubbernecker Stamps.  Ever since I saw Debby Hughes make this beautiful card, I have wanted these tulips, and finally bought the stamp at Adventures in Stamping last weekend in Akron.  I used Ranger Distress markers to color the red rubber stamp, then applied to Distress watercolor card stock that I had pre-wet.  I used the Happy Trio Die-Namics from My Favorite Things to cut the “happy” from platinum glitter card stock, and embellished with some gold sequins and linen twine.

I’m entering my card in the Crazy 4 Challenges #334 color challenge, and the Mother’s Day challenge #94 from the MarkerPOP blog.

I’m pretty sure my Mom will love this!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Curtain Call–With Sympathy

Hello stamping friends, how was your weekend?  I spent some time stamping, and it was wonderful!  One card I needed to make was a sympathy card for a friend at church who lost her Mom this past week.  As luck would have it, I already had the Altenew Vintage Flowers stamp set out on my work table, and when I saw the newest Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge today, I knew those flowers would work for my card!  I created a beautiful rose, and combined it with some blues and purples to go with the challenge and made this card…
with Sympathy
My rose was stamped with hybrid inks from My Favorite Things, from lightest to darkest Pink Lemonade, Cotton Candy, Ripe Raspberry and Cranberry Cocktail.  The leaves were stamped with Factory Green, Jellybean Green and Olive hybrid inks, and the little purple flower was stamped with Grapesicle and Lavender Fields.  I used Distress watercolor card stock and Blueberry premium dye ink from MFT for the background, splattering with more ink and some Perfect Pearls mixture.  On the left is a strip of purple gingham paper from this Doodlebug pad, and I added a die-cut sentiment using the Simon Says With Sympathy die.  I mounted my finished panel to a piece of Fog card stock.
I’m also entering my card in the current Work it Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp.\

I hope you’ve had a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #390

Hi friends!  I have a card to share with you today using the wonderful colors for Color Throwdown #390 for this week.  I’m a sucker for navy and yellow together, so I had to jump all over this and make a card!

swatch390

Here we go, using the beautiful Beautiful Blooms stamp set and matching Die-Namics from My Favorite Things

Color Throwdown #390

I stamped the flowers with Daffodil and Lemon Chiffon dye inks, added some leafy branches using After Midnight dye ink, and a few green leaves and stems using Sour Apple and Jellybean Green dye inks.  The birthday sentiment was stamped in After Midnight dye ink on a Daffodil card stock Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics, and I added a panel in the background that was cut from the Dots & Stripes Fresh Paper Pack, using Blueprints 15 Die-Namics.  I added a vellum circle behind the bouquet and some sequin embellishments.

Happy weekend, and thanks for stopping by today!

Color Throwdown #389

My BFF's over at the Color Throwdown have another great challenge today that I couldn't pass up... LOVE me some pink and orange together, don't you?

Those sweet little flowers on the shoes really spoke to me, so I pulled out my LJD Scribble Roses stamp set from My Favorite Things and got to work!  I really loved the Valentine tag I made a few months ago using this stamp set, so that was also my inspiration for this card...

I stamped my roses and leaves in Versamark ink on watercolor card stock, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  And over the flowers and leaves I did a wash with dye inks in Orange Zest, Tangy Orange, Razzle Berry, Ripe Raspberry, Sour Apple and Jellybean Green.  I added some splatters with watered-down Steel Grey dye ink, and also some silver and pearlescent sprays.  For the sentiment I used the Doubly Amazing Die-Namics, cut with Steel Grey card stock, and the Amazing stamp set.

I'm also entering this card in the sketch challenge this week at Can You Case It?, and the Simplicity Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.

Have a happy Wednesday, and thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Anniversary-Stuck With You

My hubby and I are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary today.  Since last year was a biggie, we're keeping it low-key this year.  We decided to give a gift to each other in the form of a donation to a co-worker of mine who is in need.  And for dinner tonight (he doesn't know this yet!) I'm bringing home Eggplant Parmesan from a really nice Italian restaurant near my workplace, and I'm hoping the weather will be nice enough that we can eat outside on the swing by the fire pit!

Of course, I HAD to make a card for him and the new LLD Sweet Succulents and matching Die-Namics from My Favorite Things was a perfect choice.

As with our celebration today, I kept the card low-key.  The background was done with my Peerless watercolors, and I spattered it slightly with some Perfect Pearls, then added the cactus and sentiment.  I used the current Color Throwdown #388 again for my color choices, and I got inspiration for my design from this card by my BFF Barbara Anders and this card from Anna Kossakovskaya.  Sweet and simple, just like my hubby!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Color Throwdown #388

Hello friends!  I have a co-worker with a birthday tomorrow, so the sneak peek last night of the Color Throwdown #388 for today was just what I needed to get a card made for her!  The colors this week are yellow, green, blue and white, so here's what I came up with...

If you have to use white, what's better than a polar bear, amiright?  :)  So I grabbed my Birdie Brown Birthday Bears stamp set and matching Die-Namics, from My Favorite Things and got to work. The background was stamped with the BG Grid background with Versamark ink, and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I used Daffodil and Sour Apple dye inks to water color over the grid, and added some spatters of Perfect Pearls mixed with a little water.  Behind the bear I added a vellum tag that was die-cut with the Pierced Traditional Tags STAX Die-Namics, and the sentiment strip was die-cut using the Horizontal Stitched Strips Die-Namics.

I might slowly be feeling the stamping mojo coming back.... thanks to all of you have stuck with me through this slump!  :)

Color Throwdown #387

Hello everyone!  I'm squeaking in under the wire this week with a card I made for the current Color Throwdown #387 and the sketch #275 at My Favorite Things.  Here's what I came up with...

I inked up the fabulous new Beautiful Blooms stamps from My Favorite Things for my design, stamping the flowers in the CTD colors, and added a watercolor wash in the background using Summer Splash premium dye ink from MFT.  This card will go to my sweet neighbor who is celebrating a birthday today!

Thanks for stopping by today!  And MANY thanks to everyone who has helped me downsize over the past month by buying up my used stamps and supplies!  I appreciate it greatly, and hope you all are enjoying your "new" things!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

So, a good daughter who happens to have a card-making arsenal at her disposal is obligated to make a birthday card for her Mom, right?  Even if her stamping mojo is in the dump, right?  Yeah... that's what I thought.  Well, mojo in the dump or not I had to come up with something.  So, to get my Mom's birthday card made recently, I took some inspiration from one of my favorite stampers, and CASE'd this card from Kay Miller.

Here's my version.  Not nearly as cute, but my Mom loved it, so that's all that matters!

The Large Desert Bouquet stamp set and matching Die-Namics from My Favorite Things are just so fun to work with!  I might just sit one day and stamp a bunch of these flowers in all colors, just to be able to throw them on a card like this, and have it made in a snap!  I used a variety of hybrid inks for the design, and added some shading to the two biggest flowers with a Copic marker.  The sentiment, from Birthday Wishes & Balloons was stamped with Black Licorice hybrid ink.

Yes, I think I definitely just need to sit and stamp a whole garden of these flowers!  :)  Thanks for stopping by today!

Color Throwdown #386

I caught the new colors for today's Color Throwdown #386 on Facebook yesterday, and just had to make a card last night!  Lisa has picked some great colors to work with today!  Here's my card...

I used the BG Small Brick background stamp from My Favorite Things, stamping on a piece of watercolor card stock with Versmark ink, then embossed with white detail embossing powder.  Over that I did a wash of watercolor using Limelight dye ink.  Then I used the new Twice the Thanks Die-Namics (quickly becoming my new favorite die!) and die cut twice using Tropical Teal card stock.  I layered those two die-cuts for a little extra dimension.  I added a vellum circle on the left side that was cut with the Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics, and layered over that a leafy branch from Blueprints 14 cut from Limelight card stock.  And then I pulled out my always-a-favorite LJD Blissful Butterflies stamp set and matching dies, and die-cut a butterfly from Sno Cone card stock, then used my MISTI to stamp the butterfly in Sno Cone hybrid ink.  A few clear sequins, and I called this one done!

EDITED:  Eeek!  Forgot to mention my layout was inspired by this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #165!

Many, MANY thanks to everyone who bought stamps and dies from me recently!  Now if I could just find the time to get some more things listed... stay tuned!  (And there are still some great items to be had... check out my sale page!)

Color Throwdown #385

Hi there!  Wow, Jodi has some purty colors up on the Color Throwdown blog today!  I couldn't resist playing along with my former teammates to make this quick birthday card for a co-worker...

I think I got this sweet Pineapple Panache stamps and matching die from Lil' Inker Designs way back before Christmas, and am finally using them today.  Now that I got started, you might be seeing a lot more pineapples from me...it's just too cute!  I stamped the texture on the pineapple with Versamark ink, then embossed with gold, and added some gold flecks of color, too.  My background was done with Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers distress inks... I wish I'd gotten the darker color just a little more teal.  Maybe I'll just have some fun later and create a second version of this card!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget about the great bargains to be had on my Sale Page!  So many people have bought tons of things, and I'm so grateful to be able to downsize my collection a little... thanks to all of you who have bought from me this week and last!

Thanks

Hello friends!  I have a really sweet co-worker… he’s an older gentleman, and earlier this month he took me to Applebee’s for lunch for my birthday!  So I had to make him a quick card to say thanks.

IMG_4775

I kept this really simple, die-cutting three times and layering for dimension with the new Twice the Thanks Die-Namics from My Favorite Things.  Then just glued it over a few strips of washi tape, on a stitched die-cut panel.  Easy-peasy!

DON’T FORGET my stamps and dies for sale over on my Sale PageLOTS of great bargains to be had!  And stayed tuned… I’ll probably be listing more things, but not until April.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Birthday Bouquet

Hello friends!  I needed a birthday card this week for my Pastor’s wife, and have been so anxious to play with this new stencil I recently got from Simon Says Stamp, the Bouquet of Flowers.  I HAD to buy it after I saw this darling card on Laura Bassen’s blog.  I kind of ended up combining Laura’s card with this card from Debby Hughes, then used the current Color Throwdown #384 and came up with this…

Birthday Blooms 2

Squeeeee!  I hope you love, my fabulous readers, love it as much as I do!!!  I used Ranger Distress inks in Shaded Lilac, Festive Berries, Mowed Lawn, and Wilted Violet to sponge through the stencil.  Then added the die-cut “Wishing” that was cut three times from black card stock, and the matching sentiment from the Sending & Wishing stamp set.

I hope you’re having a great week… thank you for stopping by today!

Garden Bunch Birthday Wreath

Hi there, friends!  A big thank you to those of you who left me comments the other day!  It’s nice to know I still have some blog readers even though I’ve cut back on stamping and design team commitments.  You really blessed my day!

This is really odd for me lately but I actually have another card to share already this week!  Lately I’ve only been making one card a week, if that!  But I have several birthdays coming up (including my Mom… eeep!  THAT card has always got to be uber-special!)  So here’s another card to share with you today, for my Aunt Phyllis who has a birthday this coming Monday!

Birthday Wreath

I. JUST. LOVED! the new Garden Bunch stamp set and matching Confetti Cuts dies that were recently released at Reverse Confetti, so I couldn’t resist ordering.  I’m such a sucker for flower stamps with matching dies!  (Yes, I have too many!)  And Kay Miller’s card here was so inspiring, I just ended up CASE’ing her design!  Unfortunately, I had to restrain myself from buying too much so I don’t have the same wreath that Kay used on her card, but instead used this Chisolm Wreath die that I have from Simon Says Stamp.  The leaves on my wreath are from the Reverse Confetti Love Blooms stamp set and were die-cut with the matching Confetti Cuts dies.  I lightly stamped a woodgrain on the background, and embellished with some sequins.

Thank you SO MUCH for visiting my blog… I appreciate it so much!

Birthday Bouquet

Hello friends… if anyone still visits me here anymore!  I have a co-worker with a birthday today, so I made this card for her using some new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things

Birthday Blooms

I just LOVED the Desert Bouquet stamp set when it came out, maybe a year ago?  Bought it right up, and I might have used it once.  Well, NOW they brought out a larger version with the Large Desert Bouquet stamps, AND there’s matching Die-Namics for that set, as well as the original Desert Blooms!  Color me happy!  I’m a sucker for flower stamp sets with matching dies!  So I die-cut and stamped a bunch of flowers from both sets using Pure Plum, Daffodil and Summer Splash hybrid inks for my bouquet.  On a piece of watercolor card stock, I created a background piece with Summer Splash dye ink, and splattered it with dye inks in Daffodil and Pure Plum as well as some shimmery splashes using Perfect Pearls.  I added a die-cut Die-Namics Stitched Fishtail Frames to the background, and stamped the sentiment from the LJD Spring Tulips.  After arranging my bouquet, I embellished with some sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pawsitively Awesome

Hi everyone!  I have a super quick card to share with you today, using the sketch from the current Share Joy challenge #24...

Here's my quick card...

One of my favorite co-workers had a birthday recently, and she's a dog lover so a card using the Birdie Brown You Make My Tail Wag stamp set was perfect.  Again, just super simple for this card (yes, I was in a hurry!) with an added sentiment from the Birdie Brown You Have My Heart set, both from My Favorite Things.  The papers I used are from an old Simple Stories 6x6 pad.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Flippin' Awesome

Hi friends!  I have a simple card to share with you today using the current Color Throwdown colors, and the current sketch from My Favorite Things...

My youngest daughter's boyfriend is currently in culinary school, and over the Valentine's Day weekend he and Kelsey went to the awesome West Side Market in Cleveland and did some shopping, then came to our house and he cooked us dinner (which was also AWESOME!)  So I had no choice but to order this sweet Birdie Brown Recipe for Happiness stamp set to make a thank you card for Chuck!  Other supplies used include the BG Gingham background, BG Small Brick background, Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics, Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-Namics, and the Recipe for Happiness Die-Namics.  The black and white diagonal stripes at the bottom is just an old piece of patterned paper.  (I even gave the chef a red mustache, since Chuck is a ginger!)

That's all for me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ridiculously Amazing

My daughter’s sweet friend (who’s like an extra daughter to me!) has a birthday today.  And nothing other than the Amazing stamp set and matching Die-Namics from My Favorite Things would be good enough for her card!

Amazing

On a black card stock panel, I stamped the BG Roses All Over background with Versamark, then embossed with detail white embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment on Smooth White card stock with Versafine ink, then clear embossed.  And with the “amazing” die, I cut two from Razzle Berry card stock, and one from Smooth White, then layered them and applied a layer of Glossy Accents.  I added a few sequins, and mounted to a Smooth White card stock base.

I used black, white and a single pop of color on my card for the Colour Q challenge #329 for this week.

Happy Friday, and thanks for stopping by today!

Birthday Flower Wrap

Oooh, I got happy mail today in the form of new stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti!  And since I needed a card for a co-workers birthday tomorrow, I got busy using that happy mail!

Here’s my card using the new Flower Wrap Confetti Cuts dies…

Birthday Flower Bunch

I die cut the wrapper with some natural card stock, and die cut another piece from vellum to put some “tissue” inside the wrap… hard to see though with all the posies I added!  I used the colors for the current Colour Q challenge, adding a gold tag on the flower wrap.  For the sentiment, I used the Fancy Words Confetti Cuts, and got the “HAPPY” sentiment from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  This was fun to make… I know you’re going to be seeing more of this Flower Wrap die!

Happy, happy Friday and happy (almost!) Valentines Day!

Valentine Treats

I decided to surprise some of my co-workers today with some Valentine treats!  My oldest daughter graciously helped me make some chocolate, and sprinkle -covered pretzels last night, and then we bagged them up in cello bags, and tied on some tags I've been working on for a few weeks!  Here's a sampling of the tags with product links under each photo!  For all the tags, I used the Pierced Traditional Tags STAX and the Traditional Tags STAX Die-Namics from My Favorite Things.

("Love Struck" sentiment from a retired set)

Hearts background and "xoxo" are retired from MFT.

(Thanks for the loan, Kirsty!)

The "love" and "sweet" dies are Lovey Words Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti, with Lovey Words Coordinates stamps, as well as the Double Heart Garland Confetti Cuts, and the Whole Lotta' Hearts stamp set.  Also used here are stitched clouds from the Rainbow & Clouds die from Lil' Inker Designs.

I'm feelin' the love!  :)

Birthday Cards

I have two cousins with birthdays this week… one who is very special because she shares a birthday with my daughter Kelsey!  And since these days I’m still feeling a lack of stamping motivation, I chose to CASE a few designs for my cards this past weekend.

This first card was a CASE of this fantastic card by Debby Hughes…

Birthday Posies

I pretty much copied the flowers just as Debby used them on her card, because why mess with perfection, amiright?  These flowers are from the Wplus9 Design Studio stamp set for Simon Says Stamp called Many Thanks, and the sentiment comes from the Simon Says Sending and Wishing stamp set.  I added a few ink splatters to the card, and embellished with some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

My second card was inspired by this awesome card made by Laura Bassen…

Birthday Hugs

On this card, I used the Grid Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp embossed with white embossing powder, then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers  to watercolor the squares, putting down just a small bit of color on one side of the square, then drawing the color out with an aqua brush.  The sentiment combines the Best Hugs stamp set, and the Scripty Big Hugs die.  I added a bundle of silver thread, and some more sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  The colors on my card were inspired by the color challenge this week at My Favorite Things.

IMG_0795-1

AND I’m happy to be joining in again this month with Kathy Racoosin and The Daily Marker 30-Day Coloring Challenge!  And since I used my Zig markers for the above card, I’ve got day 1 in the bag!

Have a great week… thanks for stopping by!

Yellow Poppies

I found out a few days ago that the dear, sweet lady who lived across the street from us when I was growing up had passed away.  She was 97 years old, bless her heart!  What a wonderful, giving life she had!  She crocheted slippers every Christmas and my Mom, sister and I always got a new pair, and my Dad always got a tin of her famous Chex mix.  Even at 95 years old, and in a rehab facility because she had taken a fall and broke a bone, she insisted on having her daughter bring her to my Dad's funeral back in December 2013.  My sister and I were so touched to see her there!  I HAD to get a card made to send to her daughter this week.  So here's what I came up with...

These poppies from the Botanical Silhouettes stamp set from Papertrey Ink have always been a favorite, and I often think of using them for sympathy cards.  This was an anniversary set that is no longer available, so I'm sorry there's no link.  I stamped the flowers in Daffodil hybrid ink from My Favorite Things, and the stems were stamped with Olive hybrid ink on a piece of watercolor card stock.  I then added a bit of a gray wash amongst the flowers using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens.  Since I stamped the flowers with hybrid ink, I was able to watercolor around them and the ink doesn't react to the water.

For the layout, I was inspired by the sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch #156, and I used the colors for the Color Throwdown #377.  And I'm also entering this in the current Word Art Wednesday challenge #218 - Anything Goes.  (Can I just say how GLAD I am to have discovered that challenge?  Not only does it inspire me to create, but the ladies on the team are so kind and supportive!  I've received the nicest comments from them, AND won a $25 Simon Says gift certificate for my entry a few weeks ago!)

That's all for me today.... thank you for stopping by my blog!

Two cards…

Hi friends!  I have two more cards to share with you that I made this past weekend.  I think I may have rediscovered some stamping motivation this weekend, so I’m hopeful that this trend will continue!

cqc324

This first card was made for someone at church, and I used the Colour Q #324 colors for this week…

ColourQ 324

I used Peerless watercolors for the background, painted over the Large Grid background stamp from Simon Says Stamp.  (I think that background stamp is seriously one of the best stamping purchases I’ve ever made!)  I created the sentiment by using part of a lable stamp from Altenew’s Label Love stamp set, and the You die from Simon Says.  I did two layers of black and one layer of celery card stock for the die cut, and coated it with Glossy Accents, then layered it over a silver thread bundle.  I added a silver metallic card stock band behind the main panel and embellished with some clear sequins.

This second card is for my dear aunt, who had a birthday yesterday (and I hope will be happy with my card even though it’s late!)  Aunt Thead is my oldest aunt and has always been more like a Grandma to me… she is my Dad’s oldest sister, and two years later is still taking his passing pretty hard.  I think this was her 91st birthday (I can never keep it straight!) and I haven’t had the chance to visit with her in months as she lives 3 hours away.  I miss her so much, and pray that her birthday was a happy day.

for Aunt Thead

Several weeks ago I had some stamping friends over to my house, and we played around with ink smooshing.  My friend Sherri created a gorgeous piece using this Roses All Over background stamp from My Favorite Things, and a combination of Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry distress inks.  So for this card, I thought I’d give her beautiful color combo a try!  I added a vellum strip with the “birthday” sentiment stamped from the DC Happy Everything set from MFT, and the happy was die-cut in silver metallic card stock using the Happy Duo Die-Namics.  I embellished simply with a few silver sequins.

If you’re lucky enough to have today off work (as I am!) then please enjoy your Monday!  Or well, regardless of what your Monday brings, I hope you are happy and blessed!

Sending You Prayers

Hello friends!  I’m back today with another card I just made.  I’m still struggling with a lack of motivation for stamping so this time around I CASE’d this card from one of my talented stamping friends… Lisa Henke!

I combined two challenges on my card.  The first one is a challenge I just discovered, the Word Art Wednesday challenge.  Their challenge #217 is Anything Goes, as long as your creation is family-friendly and includes words of encouragement.  And I used the colors for Color Throwdown #375, as well.  Here’s my card…

Color Throwdown #375

The gray tag was die-cut with a retired die from My Favorite Things, and I added two flags of patterned paper also from MFT.  The “sending you prayers” sentiment is from the Hero Arts Exclusive Prayers Stamps and Dies set from Simon Says Stamp, and the large Grid Background stamp is also from Simon Says.  On the tag, I added a white Double Garland Confetti Cuts banner from Reverse Confetti.  I embellished with some plaid ribbon (NO idea where I got that ribbon, but it’s perfect for the Throwdown colors!) and some golden yellow sequins.

Sending this card to my aunt in Florida who had a pacemaker placed today!

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Seriously...

Hello friends!  Happy New Year!  I just  have a quick card to share with you today, using the colors for the current Color Throwdown #374, and the sketch from The Challenge #55.  You may or may not have noticed that I’m no longer a member of the Color Throwdown team.  After almost 7 years, I decided it was time to step down from the team I helped found.  I’m so grateful to all the girls on that team who have stepped up to take over several of the tasks I kept up with each week, and I hope they keep going for many, many more years!

So here’s my card using the colors that Broni chose for this week…

The last time I used this Seriously Word die from Lil’ Inker Designs I mentioned that it was quickly becoming my go-to for belated birthday cards.  And here I am, using it again!  (Thinking maybe I need to address the fact that I seem to be sending a lot of late birthday cards?)  I added a stamped sentiment from the Seriously Awesome Sentiments stamp set, and die cut some flowers from the Perky Posies.  The Posies and the die-cut circle were watercolored, and I embellished with some enamel dots and clear sequins.

I used the sketch from The Challenge, flipping it like a mirror so my flowers ended up on the left side.  (Realized too late though, that the deadline to enter had passed.)

That’s all for today… it’s the first card I’ve actually made in a long time.  I’m hoping it inspires me to get another one made very soon!  My mojo is still missing… whoever has it, please send it back!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
