Tickle My Fancy – Deconstructed Sketch #159

Deconstructed Sketch #159 by Tammy Hershberger close-up
Hello, friends!  Jen has another great Deconstructed Sketch for us this week… it’s a great layout, I hope you’ll give it a try!
sketch159
My sister owns a blue macaw, and last Fall she gave me a bag of feathers that Maizie had shed, thinking maybe I’d be able to use them on a card.  So, with those feathers in mind, I bought the LLD Document It-Right on Target stamp set, and the matching LLD Accent It-Feathers and Arrows Die-Namics when I was in Florida last month at My Favorite Things!  And I finally got around to using everything for today’s card!
Deconstructed Sketch #159 by Tammy Hershberger
My card base is Grout Gray card stock, and the center panel is Berrylicious card stock cut with the largest of the Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-Namics.  On this panel, I used some clear embossing paste and applied some polka dots from the Large Polka Dot stencil.  I cut a Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX banner, and a regular Fishtail Flags STAX banner from Sno Cone card stock, and Jellybean Green card stock, stamping the sentiment with Jellybean Green hybrid ink.  The big feathers were die-cut from Sno Cone card stock, and Berrylicious card stock,
layered together with Maizie’s feathers and secured with a Sour Apple button and some hemp cord.  I also used the BG Grid background stamp on the Jellybean Green card stock, and cut a Horizontal Stitched Strips panel from Sour Apple card stock… both of those pieces are kinda’ hiding behind all the feathers.  :)
Be sure to stop over at Jen’s blog to get all the details for the sketch challenge today, and visit the team members for more inspiration…

I loved this card the moment I saw it on the DT blog and couldn't wait to see how you made it! The clear embossing paste is such a great look... I am going to have to get some of that! I also see I am going to need the Pierced Fishtail Flags! Thanks for inspiring me (and enabling me) with your beautiful card today. Have a fantastic day, Tammy!

I love, love, love, love, love, love (you get the picture) this one. The feather die is one of my favs and I keep taking it out but I don't get to it. I really have to show it some love after seeing this.

Beautiful! I love the colors - and I love the softness of the real feather against the crisp paper feathers.
