Diplomabella #1

We attended graduation party #1 of several that are on our calendar last evening, so I decided to use Diplomabella from Stamping Bella to make all my cards this year, since all the parties we're invited to are for young ladies. My plan is to make each one in this same style and just change them out with the school colors. Easy peasy! This one was for Cari, and obviously the school colors and brown and gold! :)
I hope everyone has a fabulous Memorial Day weekend! I get to extend my holiday just a little and am taking Tuesday off work too, so I'm super-excited to begin my 4-day weekend! There's a LOT of stamping on my agenda, and soccer games for my daughter, and another graduation party to attend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous Friday Challenge #15

It's time for another Fabulous Friday challenge with the i {heart} copics design team! We're up to challenge #15 this week, and we're creating out-of-the-ordinary shaped cards for the challenge, along with a Copic-colored image.

Now, you're looking at my card and thinking "well Tammy, that's kinda' ordinary, don't you think?" And I would say "YEP!" and then I'll proceed to tell you how many directions I've been pulled in this week, and how heavy my eyelids were when I finally sat down to make this card, and how I forgot about the "shape" part of the challenge, and on-and-on-and-on! So, to somewhat save my skin, I cut my card out using the Labels 8 Nestabilities for a different "shape." Sorry... paste the loser L on my forehead if you want to! :) I'm straining towards getting Friday over with at this point, and then I'm off for four whole days! Yahoo! My card is also a modified version of Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge #75.
Stop by the i {heart} copics group at Paper Craft Planet for all the challenge details, and to see creations from the rest of the team members! And then make some time for yourself this weekend and play along! Upload your card to the PCP gallery using IHC052810 as the tag.

Happy stamping, and HAPPY FRIDAY!

All that Scraps Wednesday Challenge - A Sketch

For the All that Scraps Wednesday challenge this week, we're all following a sketch drawn up by Janneke! Stop on over at the ATS Wednesday challenge blog to see the sketch, and inspiration from the other design team members, then play along with us!

For my card, I found this Stampavie image by Jillian Roberts that I had already colored so with this great sketch my card quickly came together! This image and all the Stampavie images are 25% off right now in the ATS store, so go check them out! I combined my image with some fun October Afternoon papers, and this yummy lime green polka dot ribbon I just got from Creative Impressions. The striped border is cut with another new item I recently got... the Jumbo Scallop Die-Namics die from My Favorite Things! LOVE it! I can see myself getting a LOT of use from those dies!
I used the Scalloped Scallop Die-Namics from MFT to cut paper for the inside of my card, too!

Stop by the ATS Wednesday Challenge blog for inspiration from the other girls, and all the challenge details. Remember, every week there is a new and exciting prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, your card must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store. Whether it is any of our wonderful in house designs or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries, the choice is yours. Then be sure to link up your creation with Mr. Linky by next Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. EST and only one entry per person, please!

Thanks so much for stopping by again today, and I hope you've enjoyed my cards! I love sharing with everyone, and appreciate your comments SO much!

Did you know I'm FABULOUS?

Seriously? Did you know that I'm fabulous? Well, I am for today anyway! Today I am the Fabulous Friend over at the My Favorite Things blog, and I'm thrilled about it! Being the Fabulous Friend means getting to use stamps that I love from a company that I love, so what could be better?

Kim graciously sent me some fun stamps of my choosing to work with for today, and I chose the set Coffee? Tea? and Who's that Chocoholic? She also sent me Invitation Only to use for today, and if you stop by the MFT blog, you can see what I created using those sets! I also created this little gifty bag of chocolate using the Who's the Chocoholic? set to show you here today!
If you're a fan of the TV show friends, you might remember the episode where Monica is making Christmas candy for all the neighbors? And one of the neighbors tells her friends that the candies are like "little drops of Heaven!" Remember? Well, say hello to "Little Drops of Heaven!" I recently discovered this candy at the bulk food store next to Toyrifix! They're called Mocha Coffee Lentils. I've seen them there before, but the word "lentils" always made me think "ewww!" Well, trust me... they're not real lentils! I don't know why they call them that, but these babies are like mocha/coffee M&M's! They're sabotage to this girl who's trying to lose weight, so I figured I'd give them as gifts and share the love to keep myself from eating them! (Plus if I fatten up everyone around me, then I'll appear thinner, right?) So I made up a few of these little treat bags for coffee-loving/chocolate-loving friends!

I used my Labels 8 Nestabilities for the bag topper, and used some of the Simply Spring Gingham collection digital papers from MFT to paper-piece the dress. (I gingham!)

So anyway, please hop on over to the MFT blog to see my other projects with these fabulous stamps! I had so much fun creating these things to share with everyone today, so I hope you love 'em, too! You can read a little bit about a big mess I made recently while stamping late into the night, too!

Many, many thanks to Kim for asking me to be her Fabulous Friend today! I'm honored!

Happy Monday!

Stamps: Who's that Chocoholic? (My Favorite Things)
Cardstock: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Kraft (Stampin' Up!), cream (Neenah), gingham paper (MFT)
Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko), markers (Copic)Accessories: ribbon (Creative Impressions), Nestabilities (Spellbinders), punches (SU!), button, string (craft supply).

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge

OK, now THIS card has a little more mojo than my last one! Maybe I just can't stand to make anything without using my Copic markers anymore??? This card is for today's Wednesday Challenge with the girls at All that Scraps, and our challenge for today is to create a card that uses dry embossing. There are a variety of ways you can achieve dry embossing on your creation. Do you still have one of those antiquated light boxes that you can use with a stylus and brass stencil? Or you can use the always-popular embossing folders, as I did here with the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder. I also added dry embossing by embossing the edges of my white oval after I cut it out using my Nestabilities and embossing mat.

Stamps: Honey Sailor (All that Scraps/CC Designs)Cardstock: Kraft, Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!), red (Gina K Designs), white (Neenah), designer paper (Scenic Route)Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Stormy Weather Distress ink (Ranger), markers (Copic)
Accessories: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder (ProvoCraft), ribbon (Bo Bunny), star clip (Creative Impressions), star eyelets (unknown).

Color Throwdown #93 - Where is my mojo?

Who took my mojo? Really, I need to report a crime because I can't find it anywhere so I think someone took it! Ugh... I struggled so much with my card for today's Color Throwdown #93 hosted by Danielle. I hope y'all don't hurl on your computer monitors!

This is a new stamp that I just got at the store from Verses Rubber Stamps, and I just loved it the second I saw it. I decided to use it on my card for today but the image in my head of what this card was supposed to look like, and the way it turned out are two vastly different things! :)

I thought the cracked glass technique would look cool over this image but it just isn't working here. I used cream-colored cardstock but after all the layers of UTEE, it turned more yellow. But I'm just going to hush-up now and not offer any more critique... you can see the flaws! LOL

Stop and see what my Throwdown sisters have created for today and you'll get much better inspiration!

ATS Wednesday Challenge - Paper Cones

The challenge for today from All that Scraps is to create a paper cone! These are fun to make, and can be dressed up in so many ways. Be sure to stop at the ATS Wednesday Challenge blog and see what the design team came up with for inspiration. You'll be blown away!
My cone was actually made a week earlier (yes, wonders will never cease... I was working ahead!) so it was perfect for Mother's Day but with this sentiment it could work for a birthday, too. The different sentiments in Amy R's "All Women" set are incredibly versatile, so you can create exactly what you need.
Stop by the ATS Wednesday blog for all the challenge details, and join us for the challenge! Remember, every week there is a new and exciting prize being offered and in order to be eligible to win, you card must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps online store. Whether it is any of our wonderful in-house designers, or from the various other stamp companies that ATS carries, the choice is yours! Then be sure to link up your creation using Mr. Linky by next Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. EST and only one entry per person, please!

Color Throwdown #92

We've got another great Color Throwdown challenge for you this week, and Barbara is the hostess. Check out the Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, then put on your creative caps and give these pretty colors a try!

For my card, I chose to use my fresh-from-the-mailbox-because-she-ships-lightning-quick stamp set from Taylored Expressions! This is "Hangin' Out" and I just had to get this set because the idea behind it came from my awe-mazing friend and Paper Craft Planet sister, Sankari Wegman! It's a super-cute stamp set, with lots of options for different things to hang on the clothesline! I also used the sketch challenge from Taylor's blog for this week for the layout.
See what my awe-mazing Throwdown sisters have created for this week for further inspiration!

Paper Craft Planet 3-D Tuesday Challenge

For the 3-D Tuesday challenge today on Paper Craft Planet, we're going to create Shadow Box Cards! My fabulous friend Beth sent me a Shadow Box card for St. Patrick's Day and I just loved it, and have enjoyed learning how to create these fun cards! (click on any of these photos for a larger view!)

To start, you'll need 2 pieces of cardstock, cut 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Score each piece 1/2" and 1" on both of the short sides, as shown.

Select an appropriate size Nestabilities circle to cut an opening in one piece of the cardstock, making sure to center it between the score lines. (Here I have used the 2nd smallest of my small circles.)

Here you can see my piece with the circle now cut out, and I also cut a scalloped frame for my circle.

Fold the pieces on the score lines, as shown.

Select and prepare an image for your card that will be visible through the circle. Here I am using a just-released image from CC Designs called Honey Bikini.

Measure the inside panel of the back piece. Here you can see that it measures just a hair under 3 1/2" wide, and it's of course, 4 1/4" high. Cut the piece with your image carefully, so it fits inside the back section....

... and glue it in place.

Apply red-line tape or other strong adhesive to both sides of the back piece, and adhere the front piece. Then you can decorate and embellish as desired, as shown below!

I added a little more dimension to my image by stamping the sunglasses in pigment ink, embossing with clear embossing powder, then cutting them out and mounting them with dimensional adhesive so they look just like they're sitting on top of Honey's head!

On the back I've just used a plain scalloped circle for writing my greeting.

And the great thing is that this card will fold flat to fit inside an envelope without any trouble!

OK, now it's your turn! Give this project a try and upload to the gallery at Paper Craft Planet using the tag 3d61 so I can find all the Shadow Box cards and put them in an album together!

Color Throwdown #91

It's time for another Color Throwdown, and this week Broni is our hostess! She's chosen some bright colors for you to try, so let us see your creations!

For my card, I ended up using a red that's a little less rosey (because I'm down to scraps in the Rose Red department!) and using this red allowed me to also use some new My Mind's Eye paper! I also decided to play along with the sketch challenge for this week from Taylored Expressions, and the TCP Tuesday challenge to use the "You Sick Thing" stamp set!
With the start of a new month, the Color Throwdown team gets to welcome a new Guest Designer and I could NOT be happier to introduce our guest for May, Laura Pryor! I'm especially excited to have Laura joining us this month because she is also a new design team member with me on the Chicken Girl Design team! So please stop by her blog and help us welcome her for the month!

Laura Pryor, May Guest Designer
