Flourishes Pre-Release Challenge - The Shades of Sunset

I have some fun news to share with you! Today, and all of next week I get to play with the "big girls" and bring you all the new release goodness coming from Flourishes! So I hope you'll stay tuned next week for what's in store... it'll be a BUSY week here on my blog! There will be several opportunities to win prizes, too... including with this challenge today!

Oh, these days of summer! Sadly, they will be gone before we know it - so let's celebrate this time of year now! We're getting ready in the Flourishes warehouse to release our brand new sets of stamps for August and this release truly celebrates summer's best! We know you love a good challenge to get you in the mood for our week of fun so, let's roll out this month's kick off challenge -- it's one where you could win our entire August release!

HOW TO PLAY: With the warm sunny days, come beautiful sunset skies. Let's celebrate that on our cards and creations! This color challenge is open to interpretation! Sunsets are so unique - some have mostly shades of red and orange, others can light up the sky with purple and pink hues! Pick your favorite sunset colors and share your inspiration. After you create your card, be sure to head over to the Flourishes blog and link up using our Inlinkz widget. You'll need to share your link there to be in the running! You have until August 12th at 5PM EST to enter! This month we have not three, but FOUR new stamps sets to share!

For my card, I started out trying to use a variety of the colors that are in the sunset graphic, but nothing quite seemed to work until I simply focused on the shades of pink! So I ran with it, pairing the ranunculus and text images from the Sweet Nature stamp set with some new papers from Echo Park. My flowers were colored with Copics from the Lenten Rose Collection, along with R89 from the Fuschia Collection. I used The Fields Collection to color my leaves, with the addition of G99. The layout for my card was inspired by the Deconstructed Sketch #12 from last week.

On the main image panel I added some shimmer by spritzing on some Perfect Pearls mixed with water that you can hopefully see in the close-up below!

Need a little more inspiration to get you on your creative way? Check out what our DT whipped up with a gorgeous sunset in mind!
I hope you'll play along with this challenge! Believe me, you don't want to pass up the chance to win the entire new Flourishes August release!
Thanks for stopping by!

Just gorgeous...is that image puffy underneath?

So stinkin' sweet! Lovely coloring, as usual, and YES, the way you've sponged that panel makes it look quilted. Quite the optical illusion specialist, aren't you?

Really pretty Tammy. I like that you masked the flowers and stamped the script over them, I personally don't like seeing print on the petals. Unless of course you are created a distress look with faded out images and print.
