NO white!

Today's Limited Supply challenge on SCS is to make a card without using any white, vanilla or cream-colored cardstock. This was very fun to try, and as usual got me thinking outside the box! I got a yummy box of truffles from Maria (Kitchen Sink Stamps owner) for Christmas, and it came wrapped in red cellophane and was tied with this gorgeous ribbon! So I had to save it to use on a card and thought it'd be appropriate to use today and make a thank you note to send to Maria! (Even though I know she'll see the card here before I get it mailed!) :)

I knew I wanted to try and use Kraft cardstock. And I couldn't decide if the color of the ribbon was more like Old Olive, or Always Artichoke. So I went to the Stampin' Up color combo site (http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/) and found color combinations using Olive and Artichoke with Kraft. Well, I determined that the ribbon was a close match with Old Olive but I liked the combo better that went with Always Artichoke, so I combined them! That color combo site is a God-send... I highly recommend going there and bookmarking it! And make a donation sometime if you can, to let Laura know how much you appreciate the work she puts into it, and so she can keep it there for all to use!

Thanks for stopping by today, and checking out my card! Happy weekend!

Stamps: Kitchen Sink Stamps 3-Step Daisy
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Soft Sky, Kraft
Ink: Versamagic Pixie Dust for daisy base, Tea Leaves and Spanish Olive for leaves; Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy for top layers of daisy and sponging, and Soft Sky for sponging
Accessories: ribbon (unknown source); Robin's Nest dew drops in Carnation Pink (but they looked clear after applying to the cardstock!); burgundy embossing powder; sponges; foam squares
