Dare to Get Dirty!

It's that wonderful time of the year again.... Dare to Get Dirty Week over at Splitcoaststampers!  Last year at this time, my status as a Dirty Girl was still a secret... my first month on the team wasn't until August.  So I'm so glad to be an alumni this year and have the special privilege of hosting a challenge!  What's my challenge?  Well, you'll have to hop over to the Fan Club forum at SCS to see that (and you have to be a Fan Club member, too!)  What's the Fan Club?  It's a way to show your support for the website that brings you SO much information everyday for our wonderful hobby!  Head on over to the Fan Club page at SCS for more information, and find out how you can join!

For my card, I used the Wild for Watermelon stamp set from Flourishes as the focal image, and used the Retro Sketch #21 from last week for the layout.  I accented with some Die-Namics dies from My Favorite Things... the Textile Rectangle, Fishtail Flags STAX, and the Mini Rolled Rose, plus a little doily cut with a Spellbinders Lacy Circle, and a jumbo tag I cut with my Cricut.  The papers I used are brand new "Cashmere Dame" from Glitz.

So please, come on over to SCS and join us for the fun challenges this week!  Oh, and THERE ARE PRIZES!  FABULOUS prizes to be had!  Check out all the details HERE!

Flourishes' Christmas in July Sale is still going strong... for four more days, anyway!  Between now and the 31st of July — all Christmas stamp sets are 25% off — what a deal!  No codes needed, prices have been marked down to keep it simple for you!  Just click HERE to see all the good things that are on sale now!

For my card today, I'm using The First Noel stamp set with some Bo Bunny "Father Christmas" papers.  I stamped the nativity with Forest Moss Distress ink and cut it out with a Nestabilities oval, then matted with a Floral Oval and a larger oval behind that.  I accented with a Scalloped Border, some seam binding, ivory crocheted lace and some die-cut poinsettias.  And the sentiment is stamped on a flag from the Nested Pennants.

Color Throwdown #202

Hey gang, I'm back with the Color Throwdown this week!  I took a little time off from the challenges over the past month, jumped back in for the celebration of #200 and am now back again full time.  A little break was just what I needed, and I don't think anyone even missed me anyway!  LOL

I just LOVE the vibrant colors in the inspiration photo I chose for this week's colors, and I hope you'll like them, too.  Remember, you don't have to have these exact colors... I know, I know Bermuda Bay is a retired color.  Just use whatever you have that is most similar.

My youngest daughter is heading off to horseback-riding camp next week and needed a pair of Western-style boots to wear while she's there.  I did NOT want to spend a chunk of money on boots I doubt she'll wear again, so my sweet sister sent a wonderful pair of cowgirl boots for Kelsey to wear next week.  They're even a little burgundy in color, so I decided to use my Pure Innocence Cowgirl from My Favorite Things this week with some purple boots so that Kelsey can send a thank you note to her Aunt Kendra.

The layout for my card is from the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch #81, and I added some Die-Namics to my card for embellishment... the Country Charms and Fishtail Flags STAX for the sentiment.  I also added a woodgrain background with an embossing folder, and papers from Stampin' Up! and Bo Bunny.  My sweet cowgirl is colored with Copic markers on Copic X-Press It blending card.

Stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and visit my CTD sisters for more inspiration...

Flourishes Free-for-All Friday

It's time for another Flourishes Free-for-All Friday, and since last week was another fabulous new release, this week you'll find the Sr. Design Team members sharing some creations using those wonderful new stamps.  For my card this week, it was a no-brainer... I fear you all may grow tired of seeing this new Bike Ride stamp set on my blog but it's easily one of my most favorite right now since bike riding has become our new family hobby this year!  My sweet hubby even got me NEW bike tires this past week.... such a wonderful guy!  I've only had one chance so far to try them out though, because it's too blasted hot and humid to go riding.  But anyway, I digress...

My card today features the whole bike image stamped on Flourishes Classic White cardstock and colored with Copics from the collections noted below.  I embellished with some orange gingham ribbon, some chocolate Kaisercraft pearls, and my sentiment stamped on a Tailor-Made Classic Tag die.  My papers are from Jillibean Soup.

Stop and see some wonderful reminders of the great new stamps sets from these other Sr. Design Team members...

Don't forget, there's still time to pick up all the new stamp sets in the New Release Bundle for a savings of 10%!  Click HERE for more information!

Happy weekend, and thanksabunch for riding by today!
