O'Keeffe Inspired

I chose this Georgia O'Keeffe quote from my Verses Rubber Stamps collection to work with today.  Now, I have to admit my ignorance... I really had no clue who Georgie O'Keeffe was, so I turned to Google and found that she was one of America's most famous modern artists.  (See... told you I was going to show my ignorance!)  So then I turned to Google images so I could see some of her work, and ran across this beautiful painting "A Sunflower from Maggie."  And that's what inspired my card for today, using this image from Flourishes "Sunflowers" stamp set along with the QQ1202-F "Georgia O'Keeffe Saying" stamp from Verses.

The sunflower was colored with Copics (Y21, Y35, YR24, YR27, G82, G85, G99, E21, E23, E29, R01, R20, R27) and I lightly distressed the cardstock edges and shaded with some Antique Linen ink.

I hope you like it!  Thanksabunch for stopping by today!

Krafty Challenge #126

It's time for another Kraftin' Kimmie challenge for this week, and unfortunately my last one as the April Krafty Guest!  What fun it's been to be "krafty" this month for Kimmie!  Today's challenge is #126 and the challenge is to be inspired by Spring!

For my card, I decided to use this Dance in the Rain stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie.  (Looks like she might be sold out?)  Usually she's dancing in a little puddle, but I cut her out and eliminated the puddle so it looks more like she's dancing with happiness for Spring!  :)  I paired my cute image with some Simple Stories paper, and used the Deconstructed Sketch #49 for the layout.

Stop over at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog for all the challenge details today, and play along!  You could win some rubber!  Thanksabunch for stopping by!

Flourishes Friday Free-for-All - From the Garden

It's Friday Free-for-All again this week at Flourishes, and this week the Sr. Design Team is focusing on the "From the Garden" stamp set!  This is such a wonderful stamp set... beautiful sentiments, and wonderful images... very versatile, too!  Be sure to click on the links below to see what everyone has done today with this stamp set!

Today, I chose to pair the From the Garden set with the Seeds of Friendship stamp set for this creation.  I used a sentiment from the "Garden" set on the Tailor Made Classic Tag, and used other sentiments from the seed set in my design as well.  I embellished my bow and tag with a button from the Basic Grey Jovial collection.  My seed packet and images were colored on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock with Copics from the following collections...

I hope you'll stop and see what the other Flourishes Sr. Designers have created today using the "From the Garden" stamp set...

Thanksabunch for stopping by today, and TGIF!

Flourishes Thank You Teacher

As the end of another school year approaches, it's time to start thinking about teacher gifts again!  I thought this great image from Flourishes' "Mix-n-Mugs" stamp set would be great with this Cosmo Cricket "Boyfriend" paper from the Flourishes online store.  The mug and "teacher tools" are stamped on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and colored with Copic markers from several of the collections at Flourishes... the mug specifically is colored with markers from the New Leaves and Evergreen collections.  The "thank you" stamped on the file folder tab on the right is from the "Sweet Violets" stamp set.  I embellished with some twill ribbon and tied it off with a button from the Basic Grey "Jovial" collection.

Stay tuned tomorrow for Flourishes Free-for-All Friday with the entire Sr. Design team... we'll be doing a little gardening for you!

Thanksabunch!

Color Throwdown #189

It's Wednesday again, and time for another Color Throwdown.  Kristin is our lovely hostess this week with a beautiful and versatile color combo.  I hope you'll check out all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown blog, and join us!

I found this October Afternoon "Sasparilla" paper that matched this week's colors perfectly, and went with a Western-theme for my card, pulling out my Pure Innocence Cowgirl from My Favorite Things for my card, and using the MFT Wednesday Sketch #68 from last week for the layout.  I embellished with a horseshoe from the Country Charm Die-Namics.

Stop at the blogs of my Throwdown sisters for more inspiration today...

Thanksabunch for mosey-in' by today!

Verses on Monday

I have a birthday card to share with you today made with this "Begin Each Day" #BB0441-E stamp from Verses Rubber Stamps.  I couldn't resist pairing this up with these beautiful Fabrications papers from Teresa Collins, and used some Nestabilities, Die-Namics Mini Rolled Roses, seam binding, and Kaisercraft pearls (colored with an E34 Copic marker) to complete the design.

Now, a special favor, please?  Comments on my Verses Rubber Stamps cards are typically kinda' low each week, and I really want to know what you think!  Lemme' hear you, please?  :)

Thanksabunch!

Kraftin' Kimmie Sneak Peeks #3 - We're Off to See the Wizard!

It's day number three of Krafty Peeks from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, and you're gonna' LOVE today because...

WE'RE OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD!  The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.... Annie Rodrigue-style!  Yes, today's release from Annie features the characters that you know and love from the Wizard of Oz!  Be sure to stop at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog to check out the creations from all the designers, as well as today's Krafty Challenge!

For my first card, I used the beloved scarecrow image along with the matching sentiment.  I thought this great Sasparilla paper from October Afternoon went perfectly with the "brainless" scarecrow... he can learn his ABC's with this card!  Wouldn't this be great with a sentiment inside saying... "I would have remembered your birthday!"?

And for today's Krafty Challenge #125 we've got this terrific sketch for you to try....

So I used the new Cowardly Lion image and matching sentiment for my sketch card here, along with papers from Simple Stories.

Again, don't forget to stop over at the Kraftin' Kimmie blog for all the details of today's challenge, and links to sneak peeks from the Krafty Girls!  And don't forget to leave comments so YOU can win some new rubber!

Thanksabunch!
