Timeless Tuesday #140

It's Timeless Tuesday once again, and this week Silke is challenging us to create for Halloween! You can create a card or make a special project, whatever your stampy heart desires! For my card, I'm using the Witching You a Happy Halloween stamp set, and some very definite Halloween colors. My black cat was stamped and cut out with a Nestabilities Classic Square die and embossed with clear embossing powder, and my zig-zag border was cut with the Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities. The background was embossed with a spiderweb embossing folder and sanded for a distressed look. I embellished with some black Kaisercraft rhinestones, gingham ribbon and a button/twine/sentiment tag combo.

Whipper Snapper New Release!

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was GREAT! Why? Because I spent my weekend in Virginia with my BFF Barbara Anders, AND on Saturday she and met Wanda Cullen and Teresa Kline for lunch at Olive Garden and a shopping trip to Hobby Lobby! It was FABULOUS! We had so much fun, and sat and talked in the restaurant for close to 3 hours! I hope to be able to do that again sometime soon! (But maybe I can talk them into coming to Ohio instead... that 7 hour drive to Virginia is a BEAR! LOL)

Anyhoo, I have some fun news to share with you today! The fabulously talented Anna Wight has 3 new stamp sets being released today at Whipper Snapper Designs, and I'm SO happy to get to share a few cards with you today showcasing these new stamps! Anna's illustrations are always adorable and I hope you'll love them, too!

This first card is from the Farmer John stamp set, which includes Farmer John (of course!) and a great variety of farm animals and scenery to pair him with! Here I used the corn stalks, pumpkins and sign along with one of several great sentiments in the set to create this little scene.

And Anna has also designed a beautiful silhouette stamp set called A Lifetime of Happiness. This set contains the pretty flower shown here, as well as a few butterflies and some really lovely sentiments. It's a great all-purpose stamp set that you can use for many occasions. I chose to create this clean and simple card with this set using some Ranger distress inks, seam binding for a bow and some silver flat-back pearls.

And one more new set, Farmgirl Betty is also available! I'll have some cards using that set to also show you very soon!

Halloweenie Bellarific Friday

Happy Haunting everyone! It's a Halloweenie Bellarific Friday and da' Babes have hauled out their spookiest stamps this week to inspire you! You'll have to forgive the fact that my post is a little late... I am actually out of town right now, visiting my BFF Barbara Anders in Virginia and didn't know my blog post was still in draft!

For my card today, I am using Witchybella, along with some old Eerie papers from Basic Grey. Bella is colored with Copics on Bella's Bestest Cream cardstock, and...

...on her dress and hat I added sparkle with a Sakura Gelly Roll glaze pen.

For my card, I used the single candle with the hurricane globe along with some old Imaginisce papers and a beautiful May Arts silk ribbon. I cut out the image with a Petite Oval Nestabilities and the Labels 10, embellishing with some Kaisercraft pearls. The blingy button on my ribbon was in my stash... I think it was from an old blouse I was throwing out but thought to save the buttons! Yay... perfect match! Along the bottom with the green polka dot paper is a border cut with the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities. I coated the globe with some Glossy Accents, too.

Inside I added the stamped image again, along with the Scripture verse included with this set from the book of Isaiah.

My card today uses the Christmas tree image from the set, which I inked with Forest Moss distress ink, then cut with a Labels 1 Nestabilities die. The papers I used here are from Authentique, and I embellished with a seam binding double-loop bow.

Flourishes Noon Time Challenge #1

It's time for the first of two Noon Time Challenges celebrating the new release of stamps from Flourishes! Last release, we challenged players to come up with a fun and unique twist on a challenge, suggest it and they could win a chance to be in the Flourishes spotlight – not only would their challenge be picked, they would be the superstar of the day ushering in the challenge as well! Flourishes Sneak Peeks Day 2 and Color Throwdown #163

Welcome to the second day of sneak peeks for the new Christmas stamp sets being released this week from Flourishes! Today the team is showing you the new Meet Me Under the Mistletoe stamp set. This is another beautiful stamp set with illustrations that will knock you outta' the park!

I used the colors for today's Color Throwdown challenge, being hosted by Barbara Anders for my card. The papers I used are Bo Bunny "Blitzen" and my image is colored with Copic markers on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. My image is cut out and layered with some Petite Oval Nestabilities, and the Labels 18 Nestabilities (yes, I'm addicted to it lately!) I layered some May Arts crochet lace over a green grosgrain ribbon, and added some KaiserCraft pearls in chocolate to embellish.

Timeless Tuesday #139 and Day 1 of Sneak Peeks!

Alright everyone, let's get geared up for New Release week with Flourishes! Woohoo! And the Timeless Tuesday team is kicking things off today with the first sneak peek of FOUR fabulous new stamp sets! Please help us welcome.....

This beautiful new stamp set is chock-full of gorgeous, Vintage-looking Christmas ornaments to adorn your cards and other projects! And speaking of that, Cindy Haffner is our Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess today and her challenge is to create an ornament, or make a card with an ornament image.

For my card today, I used some old Basic Grey "Jovial" paper in my design. The sentiment is stamped on a pennant flag from the Nested Lacy Pennants Nestabilities, behind my branch and ornament is a Deckled Mega Rectangle Nestabilities die-cut and the bottom border is cut with a Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.

My ornament was colored with Copic markers on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. Then I used a gold Spica glitter pen on the inside of the ornament and coated the whole thing with a layer of Glossy Accents.

Swimming for Katie

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a digi and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family. Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support. Hope You Can Cling To

Today, I'm hosting one of the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over at Splitcoaststampers! Breast cancer fundraising and research is very close to my heart because my wonderful Mom is an 18+ year breast cancer survivor! (Praise be to God!) There are tons of prizes to be had by participating in these challenges, as well as giving yourself the opportunity to brighten the day of cancer patients, so be sure to check out ALL the challenges on the SCS Master Challenge Thread HERE.

Being the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, my Mom often reminds me (NAGS me!) about getting my mammograms on time! And although I couldn't find any specific program in a Google search, I have always heard about the idea that you should have a good friend who is your reminder'er.... someone who makes sure you get your mammogram done, and you remind her, too! Someone who reminds you to do your monthly checks, and vice versa. So for my challenge today, I just want us to focus on friendship and this dreaded disease that unfortunately strikes way too many! Make a card that incorporates pink and ribbon, with a friendship theme!

For my card, I'm using the Think Pink - Fight Like a Girl stamp set from Flourishes, along with some Me & My Big Ideas paper that was sent to me by my BFF Barbara Anders. I die cut a doily to mat my circle with my Cricut, and added some seam binding ribbon, a sentiment tag and some hot pink rhinestones to embellish my card.

CrAzY for Fall - C4C108

Hey everyone... I'm the hostess again this week on the C4C blog and today I have a recipe challenge for you. Use only leaf images, your design must include a rusty/burnt orange color (but is not limited to just this color), two fibers (ribbon, lace, twine, jute, etc.) and three embellishments (but whether you use three of one particular embellishment or three different ones is up to you!) I hope you'll check out the challenge on the C4C blog and join us!

My creative mojo went AWOL when I started to work on my card. In my head there's a DARLING card, but it won't come out. I know... I tried to get it out three times! So I gave up and completely CASE'd this beautiful design from my BFF Barbara Anders. My leaf images are from Flourishes "Falling Leaves" stamp set, and I included rusty orange in my scalloped border and the button. My two fibers are found in the gingham ribbon and the jute double-bow on the button. And my three embellishments are the ribbon, the button and the pearls.
