Here’s my wild and wonderful creation for today… a Matchbook Candy Holder.  I LOVE to have a bunch of these on hand at Christmas-time, so I thought I’d get an early start and make one now.  I fired up my Silhouette Cameo again and used the Cowboy Christmas cut file to cut out the horseshoe shape with Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copics from the Fuchsia, Leaf Green, and Tonal Neutral collections.  I cut out a Nestabilities Circle from a piece of corrugated cardboard, distressed the edges a little, then sponged some Tea Dye ink on it.  I also added a distressed piece of My Mind’s Eye Christmas paper.  I used a staple to create the matchbook, and decided to just leave it as is, for a more rugged look.
FLLC091312 noon-insideHere’s the inside… the Ghirardelli won’t last until the holidays of course, but I can buy more when Christmas gets closer!  :)

For my card, I used my Silhouette Cameo, and the Cowboy Christmas cut files for my main image, cutting on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.
I then stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics from the Poppy, Pistachio, and Copper collections.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the long die from the Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole die and added it to the front of my card with a big button and some May Arts Kraft Jute.  The papers I used here are Glitz and October Afternoon.

FLLC091112
I stamped my pretty Poinsettia & Pine with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  My image was colored with Copics from the Poppy, Pistachio, Evergreen, Leaf Green and Beehive collections.  I used the outside-the-box technique to cut out my image using a Labels 8 Nestabilities die.  The papers I used are Basic Grey, and I embellished with some Ivory Lace Trim.

FLLC091012
And here is my card featuring this beautiful tree from the Trimmed With Love set.  I chose to keep mine on the simple side, stamping the tree on Kraft cardstock with Ranger Forest Moss Distress ink.  I colored the ribbon garland on the tree with the R27 Copic marker from the Poppy Collection, then used a Sakura white gel pen, and a Gelly Roll Glaze pen to highlight the star and the lights on the tree, as shown below.
FLLC091012 close-up
I stamped the sentiment on the red die-cut circle with Versamark and Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail black embossing powder.

Autumn Thank You

Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love a good card sketch, and the Wednesday Sketch #88 this week from My Favorite Things is a GOOD one, for sure!  I couldn’t resist getting inky immediately this past Wednesday and making a card.  And here it is…

MFTWSC88
I used the somewhat new Inspired by the Front Porch-Fall stamp set from My Favorite Things and paired up the image with some paper from a new company my BFF Bar turned me onto, Farmhouse Paper Company.  This is the Sugar Hill line, and I just love the subtle Autumn colors.  I used a Nestabilities Pennant die on my card, as well as a Nestabilities Circle, and cut out a Fishtail Flags STAX die for the sentiment from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set.  My BFF also inspired my design, as I got the idea to mask and stamp these flower pots like this from her beautiful design.  :)  I embellished my card with a few chocolate Kaisercraft pearls, some gingham ribbon and a button.
Happy Saturday, and thanks for stopping by!

FLLC090712
For my card, I chose the sketch in the upper right corner and added a slight angle to the focal piece.  My manila tag was inked with Aged Mahogany, Tea Dye and Barn Door Ranger Distress inks before I stamped my scene from the Country Road stamp set using some Versamark and Memento Rich Cocoa ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder.  On the smaller tag, I stamped the “Welcome” from the Tag Lines stamp set and embellished with some Kraft Jute, Graphic 45 brads and a little Barbed Wire detail from a Silhouette Online Store cut file.
FLLC090712 inside
On the inside of the card, I added another scene and sentiment from the Country Road stamp set.

Remember, to play along with the challenge, stop by the Flourishes blog to get all the details!  You could win the entire new release, and this month that’s a HUGE, BIG DEAL!  :)

Feel Better Soon

eP090612
I’ve got a card full of detail to share with you today, using lots of products from the eclectic Paperie store.  I used a new Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi stamp set from Stampers’ Anonymous on this card called “Art is Therapeutic”… it’s a really fun stamp set!  I stamped the flower with Ranger Distress inks in Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint, then masked it and stamped the medicine label using Brilliance Graphite Black archival ink.  This was all stamped on an Inkssentials #5 Manila Tag, then I distressed the edges and sponged on some Pumice Stone Distress ink.  The papers I used here are from My Mind’s Eye “Honey” 6x6 pad, and I embellished with some Prima Pink Mini Rhinestone Swirls, some Scattered Straw died seam binding, and Berrylicious Buttons Galore button, and a die-cut Faux Crochet border from My Favorite Things.  I also added…..
eP090612 close-up
…some Washi tape from the MME “Honey” line across the bottom of the tag.  I thought it was a fun touch, and since this tape has space for dating, I pulled out my trusty old date stamp and added the date that I made the card.  (My stamper is so old though… it only goes to 2007!)
eP090612 inside
And here’s the inside!  Since the big stamp in the set is like a label from an old medicine bottle, I decided to make this a get well card!

You’ll find links to everything I used on this card by clicking on the bold-face words in the text, so you can just head over to the eP store and pick up your own stamping goodies!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

A Pot of Tea – Color Throwdown #208

swatch 208
It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for another Color Throwdown!  This week Denise gets to play hostess for her very first time, and I think she rocked it with this color combo!  Everyone should have a lot of fun with this one… you can do summery, girly, you could even do a peppermint-y Christmas look with this, I think!  Be sure to stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge rules and details!
MFTWSC87
For my card, I used last week’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge #87 from My Favorite Things for my layout, turning it 90 degrees.  The Always Time for Tea Stamps and Die-Namics worked just perfectly for these colors, I think.  I also used the Vertical Greetings Die-Namics, the Mini Tabs Foursome, and the Little Open Scallop Strip, as well.  A few buttons, some white cotton thread and some embossed Swiss Dots finished my creation.  The papers I used are from LilyBee Design.

Again, don’t forget to stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and if you need more inspiration, visit my Throwdown sisters…
