Flourishes New Release Day Five

Hi everyone! We hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s peeks from Flourishes and we are excited to say that all of the stamp sets that we’ve been showing off this week are in the Flourishes Store HERE!  And, instead of calling this last set a “peek” let’s just show it to you in its full glory!  Introducing Sentimental Favorites

Sentimental_Favorites-Web-WM

For a little while now, we’ve gotten requests to bring back an all-occasion stamp set that can fit the bill for a variety of different kinds of cards. Well, you spoke and we listened! That’s what Flourishes strives to do — make your card making fun and — easy! From Happy Birthday and Thank You creations to sympathy cards and notes of congratulations, this set has all the sentiments you need packed into 4”x6”. It will, no doubt, be a “go to” with all those beautifully scripted words!

My card today pairs one of the great new sentiments with another great image, the “fall” wreath from the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set…

FLLC101212

I took a quick trip to Archiver’s a few days ago and picked up this darling new 6x6 paper pad, Acorn Hollow from Little Yellow Bicycle, so I just had to use it for this card today (to justify my shopping excusion, of course!)  I stamped the wreath in Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and colored in the berries with the R46 Copic marker from the Dusty Rose collection, and used the G43 marker from the Pistachio collection on the tiny leaves.  The wreath was cut out with a Nestabilities circle and matted on a Picot Edge circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment (also with the Memento Rich Cocoa ink) and cut it out with the oblong die from the Classic Keyhole die set.  Finally I embellished with a little Ivory Crochet Trim and some chocolate Kaisercraft pearls.  A somewhat simple card, but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out… hope you like it, too!  :)

Would you like to win our new Sentimental Favorites stamp set? All you need to do is guess….

Flourishes New Release Day Four

Hi everyone! It’s day 4 — yes — day 4 of Flourishes’ Sneak Peeks for October! And, today’s sneak peek puts a natural spin on the holidays! It’s one that gives a classy and outdoorsy feel to any Christmas creation!  Introducing…

Naturally Merry Graphic
Send out Christmas wishes with a natural and earthy flair. This beautiful set called Naturally Merry, illustrated by Marcella Hawley, offers an elegant sugar pine cone and a sprig of holly. Pair these beauties with three elegant Christmas expressions and you have the making of a gorgeous set perfect for the holidays.

My card pairs the pinecone image from the set with the new Echo Park Christmas This & That 6x6 paper pad.  I cut out the pinecone with my Silhouette Cameo cut file on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and stamped the image (and my sentiment) with Memento Rick Cocoa ink.  I colored with Copics from the Copper, Flesh Tones 2 and Evergreen collections, shown below.  I added a Basque Red seam binding bow from the Poppy Color Made Easy collection.

Flourishes Noontime Challenge

It’s time for the first our Flourishes monthly new release Noontime Challenges, and today’s challenge is the In & Out Challenge.  In this challenge, deck out not only the outside of your creation -- but the inside too with a sentiment, some extra stamping, or basically, anything your creativity brings to life!  Just make sure to share the inside and outside photos with us, and if you upload to SCS be sure to use keyword FLLCOCTRW1.  For ALL the challenge details, please visit the Flourishes blog.

For my card I used the recently released Autumn Blossoms stamp set, stamping the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock after cutting out the floral spray from the Silhouette Cameo cut file.  The layout I used for my card comes from the Retro Sketch #32 for this week, and the papers I used are from the Farmhouse Paper Company called Market Square.  I colored my image with Copics from the Beehive, Burnt Orange, Evergreen, Copper, and New Browns collections shown below.

For the “inside” part of the challenge, I used the new Inside & Out Happy stamp set for a Thanksgiving greeting, adding a corner floral spray from the Autumn Blossoms set.  This was all stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.

Flourishes New Release Day Three

Hi everyone, and welcome to day three of Flourishes’ Sneak Peeks for October! We hope you love the offerings this month as much as we do! Today’s sneak peek set is all about those happy occasions in your life and making sure to celebrate them! And, what better way to celebrate than to have one set that can be mixed and matched, inside and out to honor a bevy of different festivities!  Introducing Inside & Out Happy...

Inside & Out Happy Graphic copy

Give the inside and outside of your cards a bit of pizzazz with these mix and match sentiments for all occasions! Words are designed to be used together or apart on the inside or outside of your creations! This set measures 4″ by 3″. Talk about an action packed pint-sized set!

Here’s my creation for today…
FLLC101012 CTD213

I chose to make what could be used as a birthday card for today (in fact, I stamped happy birthday on the inside but forgot to photograph!)  I stamped “happy” with Ranger Spiced Marmalade distress ink, and “wishes to you!” with Ranger Worn Lipstick distress ink.  I cut out the sentiment with a deckled rectangle Nestabilities die and sponged a little Pumice Stone distress ink around the inside edges of the die, and on most of the cardstock and paper edges.  I embossed that piece while it was still in the die using my No-More-Shims embossing pad, also from the Flourishes online store.  (WHAT did I EVER do without that embossing pad before?  It’s a miracle!)  The papers I used here are from a new 6x6 paper pad in the Flourishes online store, the Lavender line from My Mind’s Eye.  I embellished with some seam binding, rolled roses, hot pink Kaisercraft rhinestones, and these fabulous leaf trinket pins.

Flourishes New Release Day Two

Timeless-Tuesday-New-Logo
Cook up some fun by adding hand stamped tags, cards or boxes to your home baked goods. This darling set, called Fresh Baked, illustrated by Marcella Hawley features vignettes honoring those items baked lovingly in your kitchen. Featuring three main images plus two accent stamps and five coordinating sentiments, this set measures 4″ by 6″.
Fresh Baked Graphic
To kick off the release of this new set, the Senior Design team is joining up with the Timeless Tuesday team today!  The challenge is to make a card or a project with a yummy treat as the focal point!  If you want to play along, please be sure to visit the Flourishes blog for all the challenge details!  So here’s my creation for today, both paper crafted and baked!
FLLC100912
As luck would have it, my daughter Kelsey whipped up a few of her famous Pumpkin Rolls this past weekend, so I created this tag for her to give a roll to our sweet neighbor lady.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the tag from kraft cardstock, then added some papers from the Bo Bunny Apple Cider collection.  I used my Silhouette Cameo again and made the apron cut file from the stamp set, cutting it out on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock and stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored the apron with Copics from the Beehive collection, and paper-pieced the pockets and waistband on the apron with some of the designer paper.  For the bow, I used a little London Tan seam binding (which I wrinkled up a little first by spritzing with water and drying with my heat gun) from the Terra Cotta Color-Made-Easy collection.

Flourishes New Release Day One

Hi all and welcome to day one of Flourishes’ Sneak Peeks for October! We are starting early because we have FIVE new sets to unveil and want to make sure you see all of them in their full glory. Get ready for a fun and festive week ahead! There is definitely something for everyone on tap this week.Today, we honor the winter months ahead and take in some of the fun-filled things to do when the snow flies!
Introducing…
Snow Day Graphic
A whimsical way to enjoy the season in your cards and creations – ski, skate or take an old fashioned sled for a spin – you choose! This set, called Snow Day,  illustrated by Marcella Hawley even offers five sentiments to match and a Nordic pattern to use for backgrounds, borders or accents! The set measures 4” by 6″ and is too fun for words!

Now personally, as a kid, I never learned to ski and I never liked sled riding because you always had to go back UP the hill after sledding down!  My winter sport of choice was always ice skating!  When we were kids, we were lucky enough to live 3 blocks from a city park where they always flooded the tennis courts in the winter for skating, and we LOVED it.  Even my Mom would skate with us… still wearing the skates she wore in high school, complete with pom-poms just like the stamped image!
FLLC100812
I used my Snow Day Silhouette Cut File to cut out the shape of the skates on Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock, then stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I used Copics from the Rich Browns, Warm Neutrals, Cool Neutrals and Iced Aqua collections to color the image.  I added a little sparkle to the pom-poms with a clear Spica glitter pen, but couldn’t get my photograph to show it.  The papers I used here are Prima “North Country” and I embellished with some red Kaisercraft rhinestones and stitching.  And the red cardstock layered on the base of my card is from the Poppy Color Made Easy Collection.

Free-for-All-Friday-550x242
It’s Flourishes Friday and today we’re all in the pink for a special cause!  We’re making pink cards using Copic markers for a special challenge on the Copic Oz blog to benefit breast cancer research.  And there are some chances for YOU to win some goodies, too!  Check out all the details by visiting the Flourishes blog and the Copic Oz blog!

Here’s my creation for today…
FLLC100512
I used the Think Pink-Fight Like a Girl stamp set from Flourishes for my card, stamping the shirt with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  The shirt was colored with Copics from the Candy Pink collection, and I embellished with some Hot Pink Kaisercraft rhinestones in the upper right corner.  The layout for my card comes from the MojoMonday sketch #261. I made this in honor of my Mom, who is a breast cancer survivor of almost 20 years!

Stop and see what the other Flourishes Design Team girls have created in pinks today…

Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy stamping!
