Color Throwdown #253
Hello Color Throwdown fans, it’s Wednesday again! This week Wanda is our hostess with this great summery color combo! I hope you’ll play along!
Here’s my card… a little outside the box for me!
I put my Silhouette to work for this card, cutting out the Cute Sun and those chevron arrows. The library card stamp comes from the LLD Journal It-Library Card set and the sentiment is from the LJD Cheerful Blessings, both from My Favorite Things. The orange stamped “arrows” also come from MFT… the Mod Borders stamp set.
Be sure to stop over at the CTD blog for all the challenge details, and see what my Throwdown sisters have created today to inspire you…

Dare to Get Dirty 2013
I used some strips of Simple Stories paper for my design, and the Die-Namics Bicycle for my focal point, and added a sentiment from the Pure Innocence “I Wheelie Like You” stamp set. A few enamel dots, and I was done… easy-peasy!
Stay tuned for my Color Throwdown card in just a few!

Dare to Get Dirty 2013
This is a card I made for my friend Lisa Henke’s challenge today, and I paired it up with the sketch #134 from My Favorite Things for this week (but turned it upside down!)
I used the Big Greetings stamp set on the circle, then used the LLD Document It-Right This Way stamp set for the “Take Note” arrow. I embellished with an arrow cut with the Lead the Way Die-Namics, a button and some white enamel dots.
On the inside…
I added another Lead the Way arrow and sentiment from the Big Greetings stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by today! Happy stamping!

Dare to Get Dirty 2013 - MY Turn!
Here’s my sample card for the challenge…
My BFF Barbara Anders recently gifted me with the beautiful LJD Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set from My Favorite Things as a belated “congrats” on the new job I started this past Spring. I just adore this stamp set, especially because it has matching Die-Namics dies, the LJD Wildflowers. It’s so easy to cut them out, stamp and make a beautiful bouquet. (I used Versamagic Dew Drops to ink my flowers, and it made it really easy to do the flowers and stems in their own colors!) I added a sentiment to my card using the Chalkboard Greetings stamp set, using the Chalkboard Technique, and paired everything up with some pretty “The Pier” papers from Crate Paper.
I had some pretty awesome Dirty Girls that helped me make samples for the challenge today, too! Be sure to check out their creations in the SCS Gallery.

And be sure to check out my challenge HERE and play along! I’d love to see what you create! (Remember, if you’re not a Fan Club member, you won’t be able to view the challenge or the gallery entries…. so be sure to JOIN! It’s totally worth it, I promise!)

Just Because Sunflower
Hello, my stamping friends! It’s Monday again, which means I’ve got a new Kitchen Sink Stamps creation to share with you. I made this little treat box as part of the Dare to Get Dirty 2013 challenges going on this week over at Splitcoaststampers, (this one is for Angela’s challenge… DTGD13ArizonaMaine) and used my not-yet-inked Multi-Step Sunflowers stamp set to dress it up. Then I embellished simply with a die-cut sentiment flag and stamped a sentiment from Ready 4 Any Holiday on it, and added a button and gingham ribbon scrap. There’s just something about sunflowers and gingham that goes together, don’t you think? Inside the box are some kraft paper crinkles, and with a little chocolate tucked inside, I’ll have this handy should I ever need a quick little giftie!
My ink colors are as follows…
Sunflower:
#3 - Toffee Crunch
#2 - Dandelion
#1 - Dandelion (stamped off once)
#5 - Elderberry
#4 - Potter's Clay
Leaves:
#3 - Northern Pine
#2 - Olive Grove
#1 - Pistachio
#4 – Elderberry
(All inks are Tsukineko Memento, available at Kitchen Sink Stamps
)

Dare to Get Dirty 2013
Hello friends! Have you checked out the Dare to Get Dirty 2013 challenges yet over at Splitcoaststampers? If not, you should! Lotsa’ fun, lotsa’ great prizes to be had for participating! Of course, you have to be a Fan Club member in order to play along, and if you’re not already you really should be. It’s a great way to show your support and appreciation for all the incredible information that’s available at SCS, and is such a minimal cost when you break it down and compare it to the cost of classes or magazines. Plus it’s just a great place to hang out, show off your work, find new ideas and make great friends. I owe a TON of my stamping friendships to SCS! Find out more about a Fan Club membership by clicking HERE.
So…. the challenges started yesterday and go through August 2nd, so don’t delay! Get over to this forum and check it all out! I made this card as a sample for Stacy Morgan’s challenge that was posted yesterday…
Can you guess what the challenge might be? Well, I can’t tell ya’… you’ll have to join in to find out! For this card I used a new hexagon embossing folder I recently picked up at Pat Catan’s and my new favorite flower set, the Fresh Cut Florals from Wplus9 Design Studio. I got my set (and matching Fresh Cut Florals die from Kim at eclectic Paperie!) The doily behind my flowers was cut with my Silhouette, and the gingham paper is from October Afternoon.
Hope you’re having a great weekend! Find some time to do some stamping, and check out the DTGD challenges soon! Thanks for stopping by!

Washi Thanks
And I guess I should say my BFF Barbara Anders to the rescue too, because I wouldn’t have the Washi tape if she hadn’t cleaned out her stash, or the sequins if she hadn’t shared with me! LOL Thanks Bar! :)
Happy Friday, happy stamping!

Color Throwdown #252
Hey everyone, I’m up to bat this week on the Color Throwdown blog and decided on this bright, bold color palette for the challenge this week! Those first 3 colors are new ones from Stampin’ Up!, but don’t worry if you don’t have them… just use whatever you have that’s most similar. Visit us over at the CTD blog for all the details!
Here’s my card….
I decided to embrace the white space this week for my creation, using the DC Vertical Greetings stamp set and matching Die-Namics die. I embellished with some Mini Rolled Roses, and the Royal Rose, and behind the flowers I added the Leaf-Filled Flourish.
So, I hope you’ll join us for the challenge this week! Stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and also stop and see my CTD sisters for more inspiration!

You’re a Classic
Hi there, stampers! I’ve got a pretty simple card to share with you today, using the awesome Multi-Step Classic Old Truck stamp set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The card was made even simpler by the fact that I actually stamped the truck weeks ago, and it was just laying around on my stamping desk, waiting to be used! I die cut the image, and added the sentiment, then mounted it over a die-cut pennant flag for this quick card that went to my Dad last weekend. Easy-peasy, lemon squeezie!
There’s more inspiration from the Kitchen Sink Crew today, so just stop by their blogs when you have some time!

Color Throwdown #251
Whew, all the 5th Anniversary festivities have come to an end at The Color Throwdown, and we’re back to our normal challenge again today with Lynn as our hostess. I love these cool colors she picked for today, with this great inspiration photo! I made my card using a well-loved image from Tiddly Inks…
Wryn has always been a favorite of mine from TI, and I thought I’d color her up today and put my hat in the ring to try out for the Tiddly Inks design team! This is Wryn-Whatcha’ Doin’? and she’s colored with Copics, and then I “polarized” her with a frame cut on my Silhouette. The “hey” sentiment was also done on the Silhouette, and my papers are from Pebbles.
Be sure to visit the CTD blog for all the challenge details today, and play along! And visit my CTD sisters for more inspiration…

Kitchen Sink Monday
Here are the colors this week for the big 5th Anniversary challenge, and here’s what I created with them…
With kraft being one of the color choices this week, I thought why not have a brown bear, right? But this poor little guy has had an accident, it seems… hopefully he’ll brighten up someone’s day when I have a need for a get well card. This bear comes from the Multi-Step Get Well & Sympathy stamp set and he is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black, Memento Rich Cocoa, and Memento Toffee Crunch inks. I kept the layout very simple (I think this is becoming my go-to layout lately…) and just added a big button embellishment.
Again, please visit the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and then see what the Kitchen Sink Crew members cooked up with these colors today…

COLOR THROWDOWN #250!!!
OH. MY. WORD! Can you tell I’m excited? How awesome is it that today we are celebrating FIVE YEARS OF THE COLOR THROWDOWN!! I can’t believe it’s been that long already.. seems like just yesterday! I hope you’re going to join us for the challenge today (being hosted by Lori!) for the chance to win some fabulous prizes! Be sure to head over to the CTD blog for all details. Also exciting today is the fact that we have a bunch of our former Color Throwdown designers, as well as former Guest Designers joining us to help celebrate! You’ll find links to them all over on the blog!
Here’s my card for the festivities…
These colors just screamed Summer to me, and this Whipper Snapper chicken image fits the bill! She’s one of my faves! I colored her up with Copics (gave her a nice tan, too!) and embellished with some Die-Namics die cuts, ribbon and enamel dots. And this card was already delivered earlier in the week to my sweet mail lady who takes such good care of me! She always recognizes packages with stamps in them, and will text me to let me know so I had to make sure to wish her a happy birthday!
Please visit my Throwdown sisters for more inspiration today, and don’t forget all the alumni designers too, that are linked on the CTD blog today!

Sympathy Lilacs
I found myself needing a sympathy card back in the Spring this year, and thought the Multi-Step Lilacs from Kitchen Sink Stamps would make for a lovely card. I’m not usually a big fan of the color purple, but when it comes to lilacs I make an exception! I added the sentiment to this card using the Simple Sentiments stamp set. (Made this so long ago though, that unfortunately I don’t remember exactly what colors I used!)

Color Throwdown #249
It’s time for another Color Throwdown, and this week Joan is our hostess with this great Patriotic color combo! I think you’ll love working with these colors!
For my card, I decided to challenge myself to make something that wasn’t necessarily Patriotic, but still using these colors, of course. So here’s my card…
I used the new Multi-Step Sailboats stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps for my card, giving it a nautical-theme using the CTD colors. My boats were stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle, Teal Zeal and Summer Sky inks, and I added the water with some Copic markers.
Be sure to stop at the CTD blog for all the challenge details, AND to welcome our new Guest Designer for July!

Have a Happy Day
Hey all, I’ve got this quickie little card to share with you today using Kitchen Sink Stamps! I found inspiration in the Retro Sketch #70 this week for the layout, and used some new Simple Stories “I {Heart} Summer” papers. For my butterfly (from the 3-Step Butterflies set) I used Barely Banana and Summer Sun inks, and added some Rock Candy Stickles on the edges of the wings for sparkle. The “happy day” sentiment comes from the Never a Loss 4 Words set, and I embellished my card with some enamel dots and olive green rick-rack.
Stop and see what the rest of the Kitchen Sink Crew members have to share with you today…
