Happy Birthday, Flourishes!


Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear Flourishes..... Happy birthday to you! That's right, this month Flourishes officially turned 4 YEARS OLD! So, we are lighting the candles on the cake and throwing a party like no other! The good news is -- even though it's our birthday - you could win one heck of a present yourself with some fabulous blog candy! Our designers have lit up the creativity with some fabulous birthday cards and they are involved in just one way that you can get your hands on a great bag of goodies!

And so here is my birthday card for Flourishes! I created my card with a recent trend I have seen in mind.... the tangerine orange and gray color combo! Is it just me, or is this kinda' trendy lately? I saw wedding pictures on Facebook a few weeks ago where the bridesmaids all wore dark orange and gray dresses, and I just LOVED the look! Then at Target on Monday I saw baby equipment like this in the same tones of gray and orange. (It looks more red on the website, but in the store it was orange!) Well, I've never been one to turn up my nose at orange... it's my favorite color, so I thought I'd give this a try!

My card uses the new Sweet Days of Summer stamp set, and a sentiment from the matching Kid's Play stamp set. The harlequin-style designer paper is from Crate Paper, and my cardstock colors are Stampin' Up! Calypso Coral and the retired Groovy Guava, and the gray is Core'dinations.

    This silhouette stamp is so precious! It reminds me of when
    My nanny let me water her devil's whiskars at her shop with a large ole metal watering can. And I love the peachy colors of your card.
