Rubbernecker April Release Blog Hop

The Rubbernecker Red Hot Mommas are having another blog hop today to show off some of the great new releases that are in the Rubbernecker store! I spent this past weekend working at the Adventures in Stamping convention in Akron in the Rubbernecker booth, so for my cards today I have incorporated a little bit of the techniques that I demonstrated. For the backgrounds on both of these cards, I applied Distress Inks directly to a teflon craft sheet, spritzed with water and then dragged my cardstock through the puddles of ink. I did this 2-3 times, drying between each time with my heat gun for a really neat, aged look in the backgrounds.

For my first card, I used the new Vintage "At the Shore" stamp, combining it with Distress Inks in Broken China and Bundled Sage for the background, and stamping the image with Stormy Sky. The main image was embossed with clear embossing powder. I also used my French Script background stamp across the bottom corner, stamping it with Frayed Burlap ink. It reminded me of back-in-the-day when folks used to write directly on their photographs, the names of people in the photo and the date.... early scrapbooking! The diamond pattern you see in the background is also a RN background stamp, the Victorian Diamond Panel.

The background panel for this card was inked with Rusty Hinge, Tea Dye, and Wild Honey Distress Inks, and my classic car was stamped in Walnut Stain ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. The designer paper here is from Basic Grey's Boxer collection, and I was so thrilled to finally be able to use some grungeboard that I've had forever on this card... the key! My sentiment is computer-generated.
