Color Throwdown #361

Color Throwdown #361 cropped

Hello friends!  Are you ready for another Color Throwdown challenge?  Today it’s my turn to be the hostess, and with just recently moving my youngest daughter to college, I guess I have dorm room decorating on my mind!  So I found this photo of a dorm room I’m sure any college girl would love to inspire you!

Now, before we get too far you have to know that I am sitting here typing this post, laughing my head off at myself!  Take a close look at my card… do you see the problem?

Don’t see it?  How about now?

LMHO!!!!!!!!!!!  How’s that for a neat trick?  I stuck a straw through a bottle cap!  LOLOL

Oh, well!  Hopefully my daughter will like the card, and not notice that Mom isn’t firing on all cylinders this week?  I made my card using the darling new LLD Soda Pop stamp set from My Favorite Things, along with the matching LLD Soda Pop Bottles Die-Namics.  These were cut from Lemon Drop and Limelight card stocks, with Sweet Tooth card stock labels.  I layered them over a vellum circle that was cut with the Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX Die-Namics.  I added a polka dot Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX under the sentiment flag from the Dots & Stripes Neutral paper pack, and also used the paper pack for that bionic straw!  The background panel was stamped with the BG Writing Tablet background with Versamark on watercolor card stock, and embossed with white detail embossing powder.  Then I added a wash of Lemon Chiffon, Lemon Drop and Limelight dye inks, and some splatters of Steel Grey dye ink.  After this dried, I die cut with the Blueprints 22 Die-Namics, and layered onto a piece of Black Licorice card stock before adhering to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

My card layout was inspired by the Retro Sketch #182 for this week.
