Hello friends, welcome to Wednesday! We're having an extra special Color Throwdown challenge today... I hope you'll join us!
I am your hostess today, and I found these awesome vintage schoolbook pages to inspire you. And the reason for the school theme is because the team is making their cards today to wish our team member Lori Tecler good luck as she heads back to school! For many years Lori has held an administrative position in the school system where she works, but now she's going back to Kindergarten! So we wanted to wish her well! If you know Lori at all, you know she's "mommy" to Chloe the Cutie Puppy. And I just know there is a bunch of upcoming Kindergarten students who don't know it yet, but they're about to have the BEST teacher ever, along with the best classroom mascot ever! GOOD LUCK, Lori... I just know those kids are going to LOVE you!
Be sure that you stop over at the CTD blog for all the challenge details, so you can join us!
Here's my card for Lori...
I started out knowing I wanted to use the Red Delicious Die-Namics apple from My Favorite Things. And when I saw the current sketch #104 from Cardabilities, I had my layout, too! So I cut the apple from Electric Red card stock, and stamped it with the BG Gingham background in Electric Red hybrid ink. The stem was cut from Steel Grey card stock, and the leaves from Bermuda Bay card stock. On the Smoky Slate card stock background (cut with the Blueprints 12) I stamped the BG Typewriter Text background in Grout Gray hybrid ink. I added a Bermuda Bay card stock strip behind the apple that was stamped with the BG Notebook Paper background in Blu Raspberry hybrid ink. On the apple I added the abc's that were cut from Grout Gray card stock using the Die-Namics High-Rise Alphabet Lowercase, and then added a Fishtail Flags STAX with the good luck sentiment from the LJD On the Line stamp set stamped in Steel Grey hybrid ink. A few enamel dots finished my design.
Be sure to stop by the CTD blog for all the challenge details, and please help us welcome our AWWWWWESOME August Guest Designer, too! (Squeeeee!)
