Today’s Deconstructed Sketch #160 is EXTRA special today because the challenge is being sponsored by MY favorite company, My Favorite Things! All the team members were very lucky to receive a nice package of new release products from the folks at MFT, and I just couldn’t WAIT to get started with this sketch. Please be sure to hop over to the MFT store if you see anything you like today and look around… I know they’d appreciate it. (Remember, any words you see in my posts that are highlighted are clickable links that’ll take you right to the product named!)
My Favorite Things is offering a $25.00 gift certificate to one lucky Deconstructed Sketch participant!! Here's what you need to do to be entered into the drawing:
- Create a card using DS160.
- Upload it to your blog, Pinterest, Flickr, Splitcoaststampers or other online gallery.
- Link your project back here in InLinks by July 23, 2014 at midnight CST.
- The winner will be announced on Friday July 25, 2014.
- Good Luck!!
Don’t you just LOVE it? Jen comes up with some great sketch ideas!
I was so glad that all the new goodies from MFT this month were birthday-themed because I needed a birthday card this week for a very special person. Amy is my cousin’s wife’s sister, but to me and my sister Amy is more like OUR sister. When my Dad unexpectedly passed away last December, Amy was our rock. She handled more details than we probably even know about, and was there the whole time to do anything we needed her to do, and seven months later she still is. We would have been lost without her. So with her birthday this week, I wanted to be sure to send her a card!
I just love the color combo for the Color Palette #7 challenge this month at My Favorite Things, so I used them again for this card. The card base is Sno Cone card stock, and layered with a piece of Tangy Orange card stock.
On the Banana Split card stock in the background I stamped some polka dots from LJD Darling Dots in Banana Split hybrid ink. On the Blu Raspberry card stock at the bottom I stamped the BG Pinstripe background with Blu Raspberry hybrid ink. The center panel was cut with my Pierced Rectangle STAX Die-Namics from Sno Cone card stock and stamped with the new BG Happy Birthday background stamp in Sno Cone hybrid ink. I used the new Happy Die-Namics with some Tangy Orange card stock, and stamped “BIRTHDAY” in Blu Raspberry hybrid ink from the DC Happy Everything stamp set. On the top left of the main panel I added some flowers from the Blueprints 12 Die-Namics using Banana Split card stock, and Tangy Orange card stock. The leaves are also cut from Blueprints 12 using Gumdrop Green card stock, and behind the flower cluster I added a Blu Raspberry card stock Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX.
Be sure to stop over at Jen’s blog to check out all the details for the Deconstructed Sketch, and play along! And visit the rest of the team for plenty of inspiration…
