Color Throwdown #238

swatch 238
Another week, another Color Throwdown, another challenge where I’m convinced that one of my Throwdown sisters is trying to kill me!  LOL  How often have I said “I don’t do blue!”???  OK, I know…. I know…. it’s a CHALLENGE!  OK, I’m game!  ‘Specially when the blue is paired with yellow.  THAT I can tolerate!  :)  (Just teasin’ Wanda!)
I decided to get a little sporty with these colors…
CTD238
I’ve had this Football Bears stamp from Lili of the Valley for a few months now, and decided it was high time to get it inky!  They’re colored with Copics, of course and I used a piece of blue Bazzill Swiss Dot cardstock in the background, and a piece of Daffodil yellow on the left side, randomly stamped with a soccer ball.  I had the layout from the Sweet Sunday Sketch #181 in mind when I created this.
Here’s the inside, with a computer-generated sentiment…

I Wheelie Like… MFTWSC119

I wheelie like MFT!  :)  And I’m so sad today that my month with the design team as their guest as come to an end!  But wow, did I have fun and come away with some A-MAAAA-ZING new products to keep using over and over and over, as I’ve done today!  Here’s my card for the Wednesday Stamp Club sketch today…
MFTWSC119
I just couldn’t let my time come to an end without getting around to using the new Die-Namics Bicycle die, along with a sentiment from the new I Wheelie Like You Pure Innocence set.  I don’t really have a big scalloped rectangle as is shown in the sketch, so I improvised with a border cut from the new Open Simply Scallops Trio, and embellished with a few Flat-Bottom Clouds.  Behind the bicycle is an oval that comes from the Blueprints 2 Die-Namics that was just released, also.
On the inside, I stamped the image from the Pure Innocence stamp set…

Here’s the sketch for your reference, but you can also find the sketch on the MFT blog and in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. And the Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy stamping!

Color Throwdown #237

swatch 237
It’s time for another Color Throwdown and this week it’s my turn to be the hostess-with-the-mostest!  I picked up this Fancy Pants “Trend Setter” paper pad a few weeks ago, and loved the colors so much I decided they would be our inspiration for today!  So, here’s my card….
CTD237
For my card, I’m using the paper pad, and the Brand Spankin’ New Red Delicious Die-Namics die from My Favorite Things.  With that bright red in our color combo today, I just couldn’t resist using the apple for my focal image.  I sponged the edges with some Barn Door distress ink, and sponged the leaves and stem, too.  The layout for my card comes from the Mojo Monday sketch #288 for this week.  On the tag I added a sentiment from the new Triple Scoop stamp set for this month from MFT, Chocolate Sentiments.  Also used are the Fishtail Flags STAX.
On the inside….

I couldn’t resist adding just one more apple, and a sentiment from the new Sweet Roses stamp set.

NewProductTour
For today, I have a card to share with you and a special project…
MFT New Product Tour Day 1
For my card, I used one of my most favorite color combos.  The Sweet Roses got inked up again… I just love ‘em, along with the Roses and Leaves Die-Namics.  The polka dot piece was cut with a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics, and the Chevron piece was created with the new Mod Borders stamp set.  I accented with some rhinestones, and Baker’s twine with my favorite button/tag combo and a sentiment from the Sweet Roses set.
Next up is a project for a special friend.  There’s a lady at my church I’ve known for over 16 years.  I first met her when my youngest daughter was born as she was one of the LaLeche League leaders and was a huge help to me in those early days as I struggled with nursing my daughter.  Then several years ago we started going to a new church, and there she was again.  She’s one of the nicest people I know, is always doing so much for others, and has a fabulous sense of humor.  She recently celebrated a birthday and mentioned on Facebook that she was making a birthday promise to herself to start journaling every day.  Well, my wheels immediately started turning and I knew I needed to make her a journal…
New Product Tour Journal
A few of the new stamps and dies being released this month were just perfect for this project, especially when I was able to combine them with other supplies I already have.  At the top, you’ll see the new Accent It – Story Titles Die-Namics (the word REMEMBER) and the words “THE”, “LIFE” and “EVERY DAY” come from the new Document It – Expand Your View stamp set.  On the left side of the library card I stamped a light blue border from the new Mod Borders stamp set, and behind the library card pocket is a green strip cut from the new Blueprints 2 Die-Namics.  Other stamps and Die-Namics used include the Journal It – Library Card, Document It – Right This Way, and the Accent It – Flags and Tags Die-Namics.
That’s all for me today…I hope you’ve enjoyed!  Again, please be sure to stop over at the MFT Blog for all the new release details!  You won’t want to miss any of the excitement!
Thanks SO much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Teaser Time – Day 3

#MyFavoriteThings Day 3 by Tammy Hershberger close-up
It’s the third day of Teasers for the new release at My Favorite Things, and I have a birthday card to share with you today!
#MyFavoriteThings Day 3 by Tammy Hershberger
This card uses the new Birthday Sentiments stamp set that was the Triple Scoop set last month and is now available for purchase, as well as the new Sweet Roses stamp set with matching Roses and Leaves Die-Namics, and the new Open Simply Scallops Trio Die-Namics border, peeking out.  Behind the flowers I used a mat cut from another new item, the Mini Album Bracket STAX.  The inspiration for my layout comes from the Retro Sketches #58 for this week.  I accented my card with a few rhinestones, some hemp cord and a Razzle Berry button.
Please be sure to stop over at the MFT Blog for all the new release details today, and more Teasers!
Happy Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Teasers – Day Two

C4C180 close-up
It’s day two of Teasers for My Favorite Things, and today I have combined some of the new release stamp sets with my card for the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge today.
TeaserTime_FullSize
But first, a few details…
-The new release products will be available at My Favorite Things on April 9th at 10:00 PM EST.
-Be sure to visit the MFT Blog for more release details, prize information, and inspiration!  There are some BIG prizes up for grabs!
The C4C challenge today is to create a card with movement, so I went with a shaker card, and am using Laina Lamb’s new Document It – Hello My Name Is stamp set to create my shaker!
C4C180
I stamped the name tag, then cut out the center to create the window and added some silver glitter and flat-backed stars for shaking inside.  I put the “awesome” on the inside as the “name” and also added the stars on the lower right that are included in the set.  Along the left border I added some stamped Chevrons from the new Mod Borders set, and a little flag that was die-cut with the new Blueprints 2 Die-Namics.  On the inside…
C4C180 inside
I added the HAPPY (also included in the set) and used “for you” from an old Pure Innocence stamp set.  My youngest daughter just landed her first real job this week…. at Dairy Queen!  So I think I’m going to have hubby and oldest daughter sign this card, and we’ll give it to her as a congratulations.  We can tease and tell her she has to wear this as a name tag!  :)
Be sure to stop by the MFT blog for all the Teaser details today!  And stop by the C4C blog for challenge details if you’d like to join us for the “Get Movin’!” challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Teaser Time – Day 1

April Teaser 3 close-up
Woohoo, I’m doin’ the happy dance to-day  because it’s time to kick off the new release Teasers for My Favorite Things, and I couldn’t be more excited to be Guest Designer this month and get to share with you!
TeaserTime_FullSize
First, a few details…
-The new release products will be available at My Favorite Things on April 9th at 10:00 PM EST.
-Be sure to visit the MFT Blog for more release details, prize information, and inspiration!

Now, I got a little crazy with all the wonderful goodies that I received so I have not one, not two, but THREE things to share with you today!  Grab a beverage and settle in with me for a little while, please!  :)
First thing, I’m so excited to show you!  I recently transferred to a new job at the hospital, and now have my own desk so I just had to create a little something to pretty up my space.  Check out my new Spring banner!
April Teaser 1
This really brightens up my dull (I swear it’s military issue!) desk and plain white walls, for sure!  The pennants were made with the largest of the regular Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics, so this isn’t really big but just right for the metal shelf above my desk, hanging above my computer monitor.  The letters here were made with the brand spankin’ new Bottom Line Alphabet Die-Namics, and I embellished with a variety of other Die-Namics, too.  Also featured here that’s brand spankin’ new are Lisa Johnson’s new Sweet Roses stamps and Roses and Leaves Die-Namics on the P, I and G flags, and at the top of each flag you’ll see a green strip that comes from the new Blueprints 2 Die-Namics!  I just LOVE the fact that a lot of the new Blueprints dies have a faux-stitch feature built into them!  It’s so cute!  Other Die-Namics used will be linked at the end of my post.
Here’s are some close-ups of the flags…
April Teaser 1-2
April Teaser 1-3
April Teaser 1-4
(The tag here on the letter G also comes from the new Blueprints 2 Die-Namics!)
Next up is another item for my desk.  Even though I’m still learnin’ the ropes in the new job, there are times when I could just stand to take a deep breath and think…
April Teaser 2
“Serenity Now!”  (One of my most favorite Seinfeld episodes EVER!)  This new little Pure Innocence “Serenity” stamp set is practicing her yoga, and I colored and paper-pieced the image and put it in a magnetic acrylic frame for that shelf above my desk, as well.  The layout for this piece is based on the Guest Designer sketch for May (good luck to whoever wins… you’ll think it’s Christmas, really and truly!)  Other Die-Namics used here will be linked at the end of my post.
Here’s a photo of both pieces now, in place at my desk… some sun glare because (glory be to God!) I even have a window now, too!  :)

Finally, I have a card to share with you…
April Teaser 3
My card uses the new Sweet Roses stamp set again, and the new Roses and Leaves Die-Namics, PLUS the new Laina Lamb Mod Borders stamps!  This was a fairly quick card to create, and so not my usual style but I’m quite pleased with how it turned out!  I hope you like it, too!
Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today!  I have a lot more to share with you in the coming days as well, so be sure and stop by again!
Happy stamping!

Generosi-tea - MFTWSC118

MFTWSC118
It’s my third week of getting to play along with the design team at My Favorite Things with the weekly sketches, and so here is my card for today!  This sketch is FUN with all these circles, so I hope you’ll give it a try!
For my card, I used some new papers from Fancy Pants, and the Always Time for Tea stamp set and Die-Namics.  For the sentiment, I interpreted the sketch a little loosely and went with my classic ribbon/tag/button combo.  I also used the large doily from the Dizzy Doily Duo, and the Circle STAX Die-Namics.
MFTWSC118
You can also find the sketch on the MFT blog and in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. And the Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started, too!
I hope you’ll play along!  Happy stamping!

Color Throwdown #236

swatch 236
Time for another Color Throwdown, and this week Lynn is our hostess and she’s making my life DIFFICULT!  I. DON’T. DO. PURPLE!  LOL  Next to shades of blue, I just don’t get along well with shades of violet… it’s a Barney-complex, I think.  Too much time spent watching episodes of it when my daughter was a toddler!  LOL
But, as you can see, I managed…
CTD236
I found a really nice layout on a card on Pinterest and used it as inspiration for my card today, with these great silhouette flowers from Impression Obsession.  I added a Papertrey Ink sentiment, a button and Fishtail Flags STAX embellishment, and some old Bazzill Swiss Dot paper from my stash.  Easy-peasy!
Stop by the CTD blog for all the challenge details, and also help us welcome our April Guest Designer, Frances Byrne!  And check out my CTD sisters for more inspiration…
