Another Wednesday brings around another Color Throwdown challenge, and this week Barbara is our hostess. She found these yummy ice cream cone cupcakes to inspire us this week, and I found this flowered paper in my stash that I think worked pretty well for these colors! :)
I needed to work a little blue into my design (the color blue and I just don't get along!), so I thought this sweet "Out on a Limb" Pure Innocence set from My Favorite Things would work well so I could color the bird blue! I used the Retro Sketch #22 for this week for the layout, and the flowered/argyle paper I found in my stash is from TCP Studio. Die-Namics used are the Notebook Edge and the Fishtail Flags STAX. I embellished with a Tangy Orange button, and some Peapod Green bakers twine. And of course, my image is colored with Copic markers on X-Press It blending cardstock.
Stop over at the Color Throwdown blog for all the challenge details, and visit my Throwdown sisters (including our newest team member Denise Marzec, and August Guestie Vickie Zimmer!) by visiting their blogs linked below...
Thanksabunch for stopping by today!
My GOODNESS, your coloring on this is AWESOME! Love the fun layout with the rounded corners, notebook edge, and the flag with the button...terrific card that totally made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI'm SOOOOO excited to be on the team with you, Tammy! :)
Way to rock these colors! LOVE this fun card using one of my fave PI images! Sweet detail using the tiny flag with button!
ReplyDeleteLOL at your aversion to BLUE!! Love how you got it in there, though. Fab layout and, as always, gorgeous coloring, my sweet friend! Love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is SO darn cute, Tammy! Love how you used the retrosketch too! You're really working those MFT images, girlfriend!!
ReplyDeleteTammy, I feel the same way about orange that you feel about blue so I can really feel ya! :) Your card is tres cute though -- and I would have counted the shadowing around the tree if I had to -- if I didn't get along with blue, which I do. Only Orange? wasn't that like 3 or 4 incarnations ago??? :)
ReplyDeleteY'all had papers...honestly I'm a paper addict but, didn't have a thing with the right colors!!! Fabulous coloring....love the shading around the image...working on that skill! Love the notebook edge and that is one sweet PI! Purple's my nemesis!!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, isn't she adorable!!! Love your coloring, Tammy, and the papers you used are just the perfect colors!!!!
