We're rocking it out this week with some Heavy Metal for the Bellarific Friday challenge! Can you feel it? A little Quiet Riot, AC/DC, Lep Zepplin, Van Halen.... c'mon, turn it up! :)
Oh wait, not THAT kind of heavy metal! Make your card heavy with metal! I got it now! :) Stop over at Blogabella to all the metallic creations today from the Babes and the Sistahood!
I added heavy metal to my card in the form of some old, rarely used Hodgepodge Hardware from SU! and a few brads. The Bella stamps I used are new to me.... I'm trying to broaden my horizons (along with my backside!) These flowers are the Flower Garden stamp, and the background is the Your Book is Due stamp. I stamped the flowers first, masked them and then stamped the ledger-style background on watercolor paper, then colored the flowers using an aquabrush and Ranger distress inks (Barn Door, Shabby Shutters and Tumbled Glass.)
I added a little more metal to my card by spritzing the image with some Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mixed with water. I tried my darndest to get a decent photo of the shimmer, but didn't really succeed. Click on the photo below for a close-up and you might catch a glimpse of the shimmer! If you didn't get a chance to join us this week, how about trying for next week? Ya' know anyone who participates is in the running to win some major Bella Bucks to spend in the online store! AND just for leaving a comment on the Bellarific Friday post at Blogabella you can ALSO win some Bella Bucks! Just for leavin' a comment! How easy is that? So if you want to join us next week, the theme is paper piercing! C'mon... I know y'all know how to poke holes! Make something using your Bella stamps, poke it full of holes, and email it to Emily before Thursday evening to be included in the line-up!
Happy stamping!

ReplyDeleteLove how you worked these two stamps together....very creative! The flowers are so wonderful and the frilly ribbon and harware label are perfect accompaniments. I know I have some of those somewhere - but they seem long forgotten as the newest and greatest come out each year. I think I'm going digging...
