Did you happen to see that my sweet friend Kristin Bueter and some of her teammates from another blog challenge formed their own weekly challenge that started last week? They decided to call it the "Just Us Girls" challenge, and (here's the fun part...) it's called JUGS for short! *snort* Read all about how they decided to start up this challenge, and the irony behind the acronym here.
Anyway, last Saturday was their first challenge and it was a great sketch and y'all know how I love a sketch challenge, so I just had to play along... three times! LOL Lo and behold, I got a surprise yesterday when I found out that the JUGS (lol... cracks me up every time!) chose me as the Chic of the Week for one of my entries! I joked that maybe they should call it The Biggest Boob, but I don't think that'll fly! So, many thanks JUGS Girls... I'm honored to be the very first one!
Each week their challenge is a little different, but it will follow the same pattern each month. So this week is a technique challenge... paper-piecing, with an option to use pink! So I went to work, creating this pink baby card using this Baby Bella from Stamping Bella. My paper-piecing is a little non-traditional... I colored the baby blanket, then cut it out and pieced it over the main image, then did the same with the face and the star. I guess I call it non-traditional because I usually think of paper-piecing as being done with designer paper, but I wanted to do this to give just a tiny bit of dimension to the design. My little Baby Bella also qualifies for the weekly Bellarific Challenge over at the Stamping Bella blog this week, which was to make a baby card! AND this is a long-overdue new baby congratulations card that will be on it's way to Florida, so I'm glad to have covered several bases with this one card!
Hope your Saturday is fabulous!
Cardstock: Piglet (Bazzill), Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!), designer paper (My Mind's Eye), white (Neenah)Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), markers (Copic)Accessories: border punch (EK Success), Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder (ProvoCraft), brads (Stampin' Up!), Nestabilities (Spellbinders), ribbon (craft supply).
Waaaaay cute, Tammy! Love this sweet little face peeking out!

ReplyDeleteOk Tammy now that I have gotten up off the floor after rolling on it with laughter over your comments and "The Biggest Boob" OMG I'm still ROFL. I'm pretty sure I can convince Kristin to make you your own special blinkie boobie badge for The Biggest Boob instead of Chic of the Week if you like... *snort* *grin*
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I just have to say I love this card. HOW stinkin cute is this!?! Your paper piecing is fab - love that baby face sticking out.
