Check out my rack!

Haha! That title had you thinking, didn't it?

Check out this great rack I brought home from the store yesterday! It was used for Ertl cars and farm toys but we don't need it anymore, so it took a trip straight to my Stamping Sanctuary last night, and I love it! There is room for all my wood-mounted stamps with room to spare, and even space for some paper on the bottom shelf!

Father's Day Golf Outing

What golf-loving Dad wouldn't love to get a card using these stamps for Father's Day, especially if it will include a coupon for 18 holes, as this one will since my daughters and I are going to save it for my husband! These are a few more stamps from the Spring Holidays collection I am using from Jessica Lynn Originals! This design is a little "outside-the-box" for me but I hope you like what I created! If I could draw, I would have put in a teeny little airplane pulling that banner across the sky. But since I can't draw, please assume the plane is lost in a cloud! LOL Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Spring Holidays (Jessica Lynn Originals); Cardstock: white (Hollo's) grassy designer paper (Paper Pizzazz); Inks: Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Barely Banana (Stampin' Up), Pearlescent Thyme chalk ink (Tsukineko), Palette Noir Hybrid ink (Stewart Superior), markers (Copic); Accessories: white gel pen.

Another Valentine

I created this card this morning for the Sketch Challenge on SCS, and used my new Spring Holiday stamps from Jessica Lynn Originals! These stamps will be released with a lot of other new stamps on February 1st! You can also check out my card, and a lot of other cards that the JLO Design Team has been working on for the new release at our team blog.
I was so pleased with how this turned out, and even more pleased to have a little bit of sunshine coming through the living room windows to take a good picture today! Even though it's bitterly cold out and the wind is going to blow us away, the sun is really nice to see! And it's nice to "see" you, too! Thanks for stopping by!
Stamps: Spring Holidays (Jessica Lynn Originals); Cardstock: Pink Cadillac (Bazzill Bling), Red Hot (Bazzill Basics), purple (Die Cuts with a View), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (Crazy 4 U-Flair Designs); Inks: Palette Noir (Tsukineko), Warm Red chalk ink (Clearsnap), markers (Copic); Accessories: felt flowers (Creative Impressions), pink brad (Making Memories), small and large oval punches (Stampin' Up), purple heart brad, large pink flower (unknown), sponge, dimensional adhesives.

Making Yo-Yo Yellow look good!

Late last night I realized that today is my Mom and step-Dad's anniversary, so I used the Color Challenge on SCS today to make a card for them. The challenge was to use Yo-Yo Yellow, Going Gray, and Basic Gray from Stampin' Up. I didn't have any of the Basic Gray, and my supply of Going Gray is very low so I made a few substitutions that I think work just fine! I wouldn't have believed it, but I think this does make Yo-Yo Yellow look good!
Stamps: Silhouette Corner (Hero Arts), Garden Silhouettes (Stampin' Up), sentiment (Michael's $1 stamp); Cardstock: Yo-Yo Yellow (Stampin' Up) light gray (generic), dark gray (Bazzill Basics), white (Georgia Pacific); Inks: Yo-Yo Yellow, Going Gray (Stampin' Up), Charcoal chalk ink (Tsukineko); Accessories: clear embossing powder (Sparkle 'N Sprinkle), silver brads, distressing tool (Stampin' Up), sheer ribbon, dimensional adhesives (miscellaneous).

Workshop Thank You's!

These are some thank you notes, that were quick and easy to create while I was at my daughters volleyball tournament yesterday! I cut all the cardstock here at home, and all I had to do was stamp, color and assemble them! I plan to send these to the demonstrators, and other people who helped out with the workshop at the store on Saturday. The workshop went really well! I had a lot of good compliments, and sales were good. Not as good as I wanted, but then I made a few judgement errors in knowing what to have in stock to sell. So had I ordered more of certain items, there would have been more to sell and therefore higher sales. For my first one, I am happy with the results! Thanks everyone for your good thoughts on the whole day!
Stamps: Tiny Talk (Paper Salon Tailored Tin); Cardstock: Cantalope, Think Pink, Marigold (Bazzill Basics), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (stripes-Anna Griffin, polka dots-My Minds Eye); Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black (Ranger), markers (Copic); Accessories: scalloped square punch (Marvy), miscellaneous ribbon, dimensional adhesives. I really wanted some orange ink to sponge around the edges of the white square, but had not thought to bring any with me yesterday. In a pinch, I discovered that I could apply ink directly from my orange Copic marker to a paper napkin and swipe the cardstock edges with it, and it worked!

Thanks for stopping by!

"Clearly" it's Love!

Haha! Get it? "Clearly?" It's an acetate card! LOL I crack myself up! Anyway, I have this HUGE workshop at the store this weekend, and one of the demonstrators that will be there is my great friend Cindy (ckarasz on SCS) and she's going to be demonstrating acetate cards! She's really rocked out some great samples, and inspired me to give one a try. This is quite a simple design for me... I would have stamped white hearts all over the acetate or something, but Cindy has my white Staz-On ink pad! :)
Here's a close-up of the center. I stamped the heart in Pixie Pink Versamagic Ink (available in the Kitchen Sink Store!) Then I inked the Love stamp with Colorbox Warm Red chalk ink, stamped it, then stamped it slightly off again to create a shadowed effect. I have to remember to do that more often... I love how it looks!

Stamps: Luck & Love (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Cardstock: In the Pink (Bazzill Bling), Berrilicious (Bazzill Basics), white (Georgia Pacific); Ink: Pixie Dust chalk ink (Tsukineko), Warm Red chalk ink (Clearsnap); Accessories: acetate card, gemstones (Hero Arts), pink velvet ribbon (May Arts), corner rounder punch (Stampin' Up), giga scalloped circle punch, mega circle punch (Marvy), dimensional adhesives.

Thanks for looking, and don't forget to leave a comment on the "40 Days until the Big 4-0! Blog Candy" post!

Quickies

Stamps: 3-Step Daisy (Kitchen Sink Stamps), Warmest Regards (Stampin' Up); Cardstock: white (Georgia Pacific), pink (Bazzill), navy blue (generic); Inks: Pixie Dust, Malted Mauve, Night Sky chalk inks (Versamagic), Charcoal (Versacolor), Olive Pastel, Dark Moss (Colorbox); Accessories: scalloped circle punch, navy organdy (Stampin' Up!), circle punch (Marvy), dimensional adhesives.
Stamps: Happy Harmony, Warmest Regards (Stampin' Up!); Cardstock: white (Georgia Pacific), black (generic); Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine), markers to color flowers (Tombow); Accessories: mega scalloped circle punch, super jumbo circle punch (Marvy), organdy ribbon (unknown), dimensional adhesives.
Needed some quick Thinking of You and Sympathy cards for families from church recently, so I made these up on Sunday evening. I actually made 9 of the Thinking of You cards, so there are extras for another time.
Need some advice... does anyone know how to make a post always remain at the top? I have looked and looked and can't figure out how, and I want to leave the announcement about the "40 Days to the Big 4-0! Blog Candy" post at the top! Any advice... please leave in a comment or email happystampertammy at zoominternet dot net. Thank you!

Rain or Shine

Had a little free time tonight, so I thought I'd pull out a set from My Favorite Things, and give some of my new Copic markers a little more attention. I'm finally getting the hang of blending and shading a little more, although I doubt you can tell from my picture! Thanks for stopping by!

New stamps from The Kitchen Sink!

Be sure to head on over to the Kitchen Sink Stamps store soon (http://www.kitchensinkstamps.com/), and see the great new stamps Maria has designed for Valentine's Day! The rose is especially beautiful, and if you saw the banner ad on SCS today or check out Maria's blog (http://kitchensinkstamps.wordpress.com/), you could see how beautifully it inks up for an amazing result!

I chose the Love & Luck stamp set, and just think it's so cute and so versatile, especially since I can use it yet for St. Patrick's Day! Here's a card I made with it quickly this evening, based on Sketch Challenge #98 on SCS. Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Love & Luck (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Cardstock: Feather Boa (Bazzill Bling), orchid (Prism), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (Daisy D's); Inks: chianti pigment ink (Clearsnap), spring pansy (Tsukineko Versamagic chalk); Accessories: flowers (Daisy D's), silver brad (Buttons Galore), giga scalloped square punch (Marvy), clear embossing powder (Sparkle 'N Sprinkle).

Proud Mom Moments

Just had to share... My oldest daughter was one of only 2 freshmen to make the Varsity volleyball team at school this past fall. And one of only 4 freshmen to ever make the Varsity team during the tenure of the current coach, which as been about 8 years. So we're pretty proud of her, as you can imagine! Naturally, she earned her varsity letter already for this accomplishment, and my parents generously helped pay for her varsity jacket, which we picked up yesterday. So tomorrow could possibly be the first Monday ever that Kaylie can't wait to go to school! So I just had to share these pictures of her downtown, right after we left the store.
Thanks for stopping by, and for letting me brag a little on my baby!

More Valentines!

Beate Johns always has a sketch challenge on her blog on the weekends, and because sketch challenges are my favorite, I had recently started to give her challenges a try. She took a break from posting the challenges over the holidays, but now she's back. You can check out her blog here... http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ So I created this card this evening for her Weekend Sketch Challenge #30. It was definitely challenging... I felt like it wasn't flowing for me. I may have to try this again tomorrow.

Stamps: Playful Alphabet and Never a Loss 4 Words (Kitchen Sink Stamps); Cardstock: light purple (Prism), dark purple and red (Bazzill Basics), shimmery pink (Bazzill Bling), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (Flair); Inks: chianti (Clearsnap), eggplant (Tsukineko); Accessories: extra jumbo circle punch (Marvy), scalloped circle punch, photo corner punch (Stampin' Up), pink ric-rac (Creative Impressions), clear embossing powder (Sparkle 'N Sprinkle), shiny red brads (unknown source), white thread and sewing machine, sponges

Thanks for stopping by!

Kitchen Sink Valentines!

OK, I'll admit it... I'm somewhat anxious to receive my Valentine stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps! Maria has designed some real beauties for this next release, and I was so tired of Christmas cards and I'm chomping-at-the-bit to start on Valentines. So I took out a few sets last night to see what I could combine with some Valentine papers and matching colors, and here's what I came up with! You didn't know there were Valentines hiding in your current Kitchen Sink Stamps, did you? How cool is that!

The heart on this card comes from Thanks With Style, and "hugs and kisses" is from Never a Loss 4 Words.

Cardstock: purples and reds (Bazzill), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (Crazy 4 U from Flair Designs); Inks: Warm Red (Clearsnap), Eggplant (Tsukineko), Almost Amethyst for sponging main image edges (Stampin' Up); Accessories: white organdy ribbon, photo corner punch, Real Red brads, paper piercing tool and template (Stampin' Up); clear embossing powder (Sparkle 'N Sprinkle).

This one also uses a heart in a swirl from Thanks with Style, and the sentiment from Never a Loss 4 Words. Also, there are XOXO's stamped down the right edge of the card, but the picture didn't pick it up at all! The XOXO's also are included in the Never a Loss 4 Words set.

Cardstock: red and pink (Bazzill), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (Crazy 4 U from Flair Designs); Ink: Warm Red (Clearsnap); Accessories: extra jumbo circle punch, super jumbo scalloped circle punch (Marvy), large oval punch, Real Red brads, Iridescent Ice embossing powder (Stampin' Up), red sparkle ribbon (source unknown)

This last one, I'm not as fond of. I think I just tried to hard with it (and was too tired!) Stamps sets are again Thanks with Style and Never a Loss 4 Words.

Cardstock: purple and red (Bazzill), white (Georgia Pacific), designer paper (Crazy 4 U from Flair Designs); Ink: eggplant (Tsukineko), Pretty in Pink (for sponging edges), white pigment ink (for chipboard accent) (Stampin' Up); Accessories: chipboard accent (Maya Road), Fire and Ice circle brads, ticket corner punch (Stampin' Up), clear embossing powder (Sparkle 'N Sprinkle)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

New from My Favorite Things

My Favorite Things released some new stamp sets today, and being a retailer means I'm lucky enough to get to order them ahead of time, and the stamps arrived today! Really cute stuff! I have all the new releases in the store, plus some from the last few releases! I'm super busy these days getting ready for the big stamp workshop at the store in 2 weeks, and I'm desperately in need of a really good night's sleep tonight! So, as much as I'd love to sit and play with all these new stamps, I only managed to make one quick card this evening. This was a fast and easy!

This card was made with the new Be Mine set. My cardstock is Bazzill Tink Pink, Basic Black and Georgia Pacific white. I embossed the white with my Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder, added black brads from Stampin' Up to 3 corners, and layered on the black cardstock. Tied a piece of black dotted organdy ribbon around this and adhered to the card base. The large scalloped square is the giga scalloped square punch, and the small white square is from my Cuttlebug scalloped square die. I stamped the image with Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black and colored with Copic and Tombow markers. I cut the image out, and mounted to the squares with dimensional adhesive. Finally, the squares are adhered to the card also with dimensional adhesives.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope those words aren't all jumbled above... the need for sleep is really kicking in!
Stamp Happy (and sleep well!) :)

Kitchen Sink Stamps store

Good Sunday afternoon! I hope everyone has had a nice relaxing weekend! Mine has been super-busy, and I'm presently trying to attend to some computer catch-up time, and reorganizing my stamp area a little. It was starting to look like a storm blew through! I also spent some time today hanging a make-shift door to my stamp area in the basement! I have a whole, large corner of our basement for my stamping... I've been known to call it the Stampin' Sanctuary, but lately my husband has been referring to it as the Stamping Cave! Anyway, the corner is sectioned off from the rest of basement with large bookshelves that form two walls, but there's a large opening at the corner where the shelves don't meet. So I spent a little time nailing an old bed sheet across the opening for dual purposes. One, to try to keep in a little bit of the heat that comes from space heater. And two, to keep out our ornery cat! She has been found lying on top of my tables, and therefore on top of whatever I've been working on and have left there. Also, she's very fond of organdy ribbon, as evidenced by all the chewed up ribbon I've found recently! Darn cat! She's bored... I'll be glad when spring arrives and she can go outdoors and prowl!

Anyway, wanted to mention to Mary who commented recently on my last post! You asked me a question but when I click on your name, there's no profile for you so I can't contact you. :) You can purchase Kitchen Sink Stamps here... http://www.kitchensinkstamps.com/ Maria Colosimo is the owner of the company, and you can check out her blog here... http://kitchensinkstamps.wordpress.com/ She posts updates every now and then on the blog to let everyone know when new releases are coming (AWESOME Valentine sets coming very soon!) and there have been some fun contests recently, too! So watch for news on the blog!

Thanks everyone for stopping by! Hopefully I'll get back down to the Stamping Cave before the day is through and have some creations to show you!

NO white!

Today's Limited Supply challenge on SCS is to make a card without using any white, vanilla or cream-colored cardstock. This was very fun to try, and as usual got me thinking outside the box! I got a yummy box of truffles from Maria (Kitchen Sink Stamps owner) for Christmas, and it came wrapped in red cellophane and was tied with this gorgeous ribbon! So I had to save it to use on a card and thought it'd be appropriate to use today and make a thank you note to send to Maria! (Even though I know she'll see the card here before I get it mailed!) :)

I knew I wanted to try and use Kraft cardstock. And I couldn't decide if the color of the ribbon was more like Old Olive, or Always Artichoke. So I went to the Stampin' Up color combo site (http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo/) and found color combinations using Olive and Artichoke with Kraft. Well, I determined that the ribbon was a close match with Old Olive but I liked the combo better that went with Always Artichoke, so I combined them! That color combo site is a God-send... I highly recommend going there and bookmarking it! And make a donation sometime if you can, to let Laura know how much you appreciate the work she puts into it, and so she can keep it there for all to use!

Thanks for stopping by today, and checking out my card! Happy weekend!

Stamps: Kitchen Sink Stamps 3-Step Daisy
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Soft Sky, Kraft
Ink: Versamagic Pixie Dust for daisy base, Tea Leaves and Spanish Olive for leaves; Stampin' Up Bravo Burgundy for top layers of daisy and sponging, and Soft Sky for sponging
Accessories: ribbon (unknown source); Robin's Nest dew drops in Carnation Pink (but they looked clear after applying to the cardstock!); burgundy embossing powder; sponges; foam squares

More of My Favorite Things

Seems like I just can't get enough of these stamps lately! I think it's because they're so awesome to color with my Copic markers! Problem is, I didn't have quite the right colors to match this dotted paper that I decided to use tonight. So I used my Tombow markers instead, but am still quite pleased with the results. The main image is stamped with jet black Staz-on ink on watercolor paper. The markers tend to flow better on the watercolor paper, and you can always use an aquapainter to smooth out any of those blasted marker lines if they show up! I made this for the Ways to Use It challenge on SCS today, which was to use some kind of flowers on your card. I got this yummy velvet flower garland at Archiver's several weeks ago, so I couldn't resist finally using it tonight. I have no clue what company the garland is from, though. I have got to get better about taking note of that kind of thing at the point of purchase! Anyone with a good suggestion on how to remember to do that? I was thinking of taking a picture of the ribbon spool with my phone. But it's a matter of remembering to do it, too! LOL

Thanks for stopping by! I've been thinking that it's high time for some blog candy soon! I'll have to see what I can come up with! :)

Stamps: My Favorite Things "Time for the Bubbly"

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; watercolor paper from Hollo's; designer paper from My Mind's Eye

Ink: Staz-On jet black; Ranger clear resist; Tombow markers

Accessories: velvet flower garland; silver SU! brads; Cuttlebug scalloped square die; Versamarker; SU! Iridescent Ice embossing powder (on the bubbles); SU! word window punch; clear EP; aquapainter

"These are a few of My Favorite Things!"

LOL Couldn't resist singing the song, could you!? Well, these are a few of the cards I've created recently using stamps from My Favorite Things, and images sent to me by the ever-kind Carolyn King (Cammie on SCS!)
This card was made with an image Carolyn sent me from the "Baby, It's Cold Outside" set, and the snowflakes I stamped from the "Winter Blast" set. I colored the image with my Copic markers. Little by little, my collection is growing and I just LOVE those markers! My cardstock is from Archiver's... my 5 freebies that I picked up (love those coupons!) when I bought this snowman paper from The Paper Company Studio. The silver cardstock matting the main image is brushed silver from Stampin' Up. The silver brads... I don't remember where those are from. I sponged Stampin' Up Soft Sky ink around the edges of the card base, and stamped the snowflakes with Ranger clear resist ink. The snowflake on the circle was stamped with Versamagic Night Sky, and embossed with SU! Iridescent Ice. I tied silver organdy ribbon twice around the side panel, and added several frayed pieces of silver cord to mimic the pattern in the snowflake.
This card was created with another great image that Cammie sent me, but the actual name of the stamp set escapes me. I colored this also with my Copic markers. The cardstock is Bazzill and Stampin' Up. The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye (polka dots) and Anna Griffin (stripes). The "make a wish" sentiment is from my Kitchen Sink Stamps set called Happy Birthday Cupcake, is stamped in Versamagic Pink Petunia and embossed with clear EP. I added brads and ric-rac for finishing touches.
More images from Cammie... what a sweetheart she was to send me these! This card uses Stampin' Up cardstock, and Pallette O' Prints designer paper in Certainly Celery. I colored the image with Stampin' Up markers, but colored the background and the sentiment piece with a Copic marker. The flowers stamped in the background on the Taken with Teal piece are also from my Kitchen Sink Stamps Happy Birthday Cupcake set. They match the flowers in the designer paper very nicely, I think!
This card was created for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge #10 on SCS. Used those awesome Copic markers again, and some yummy new Valentine paper from Bo Bunny! Cardstock is all Bazzill, and the dotted ribbon is from May Arts.
This last card was born out of complete desperation! I have several of this stamp set "Winter Blast" at the store, and it didn't sell during the Christmas season. Usually, all I have to do is make a sample with a set or stamp and it'll be gone in a week. Problem is, I couldn't come up with any inspiration for using this set myself! (probably explains why my customers aren't buying it!) So this card is a complet and utter, total CASE of this awesome card by kimreid_stamper on SCS... http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/729734?si=Winter%20Blast I hope she doesn't mind... I plan to contact her and let her know I CASE'd her card! Anyway, I used Bazzill cardstock for my card, and more of that pretty designer paper from The Paper Company Studio. The penguins were stamped with Versafine ink, and colored with Tombow markers. I then used my Versamarker on the "star," snowball, and snow at their feet and heat embossed with Ranger embossing tinsel. The brads on each side are also from The Paper Company Studio. The snowflakes were cut out with a Cuttlebug die. I sponged French blue Colorbox chalk ink around the edges of the penguins, also. The sentiment is stamped in eggplant Colorbox pigment ink, and embossed with clear EP.

Thanks for stopping by! Stamp Happy!
