Coffee Lovers Blog Hop-Catered Crop Recipe Swap

Catered Crop Seeing Red cropped by Tammy Hershberger
I got connected with a big bunch of stampers recently via Facebook for a big event today, the Coffee Lovers Blog HopChaitali Narla and Amy Tsuruta are the creators of this event which should prove to be a lot of fun for everyone involved!  Check it out HERE!  Everyone in the hop today is creating with a coffee theme in mind.  Each participant was asked to have a little fun by answering a few coffee questions…
1. When did you start drinking coffee?  I actually started drinking coffee within the last 5 years when I discovered just how yummy all those wonderful creamers are!  You know how some people drink coffee black?  I drink my coffee beige!  LOVE me my creamer!
2. What is favorite brand?  We live within 5 miles of the world headquarters of the J.M. Smucker Company, the makers of wonderful jams and jellies as well as many other products including Folgers.  And, since we own stock in Smuckers too, I drink Folgers.  In the morning I have Morning Cafe K-cups, and if I have coffee in the evening, I drink Folgers decaf.
3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had?  Honestly, nothing comes to mind.
4. If I don't drink my needed coffee, I will...  While I do enjoy a giant cup or two in the mornings, I can also get by without it, so no biggie if I don’t have any.  Diet Coke will suffice if I really need some caffeine.  :)
So, enough coffee chit-chat… here’s my card.
Catered Crop Seeing Red by Tammy Hershberger
I used one of my most favorite coffee stamp sets, the Be a Barista set from Reverse Confetti.  It’s such a fun set.  The papers I used are from a Doodlebug 6x6 paper pad, and my card layout is this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch #238.  I also used the Colour Me challenge #39 for this week.  And finally, Linda’s Catered Crop Recipe Swap challenge for this week is Seeing Red.  So I worked plenty of red into my card today, as you can see in my patterned papers.  :)  Be sure to stop over at Linda’s blog for all the Catered Crop challenge details!

A Day for Daisies-Pretty Black Cats

Tammy has done it again with some fantastic new images at A Day for Daisies!  There’s a whole new clowder of Pretty Black Cats for you to see!  (See, I pay attention when I watch Big Bang Theory!)

Here’s my Pretty Black Cat with some Fall-inspired colors…

A Day for Daisies Pretty Black Cat by Tammy Hershberger

Here is Black Cat 2, who is actually on sale right now in the ADFD store!  I’ve named this guy Finnick, because around our house, we do have a pretty black cat, and he was a good model for me to color this!  :)  I printed the image on Copic X-press It blending card stock, and colored with Copics, then added some die-cut flags, and some buttons and an enamel dot for embellishment.

Be sure to see what the rest of the team has created with the Pretty Black Cat clowder today…

Deconstructed Sketch #170

Deconstructed Sketch #170 by Tammy Hershberger (2)
Hello friends!  Since it’s Thursday that means Jen has another great Deconstructed Sketch for us!  Check it out!
sketch170
I’m loving the diagonal panels on this one, plus that tag gives you a lot of options!  I hope you’ll join us and have some fun with this layout.  Here’s my card…

I pulled out my new Punny Produce: Tomatoes stamp set from Wplus9 Design Studio for my card, and just had some fun!  (Just occurred to me… this is the second card in a row with a pun on it!  Purely coincidental, but how fun is that?)  I stamped the tomatoes on a die-cut tag, added the sentiments, and then sponged a little around the image with a hexagon stencil and some pale gray ink.

The weekend is in sight…. hang on!  And thank you for stopping by today!

Color Throwdown #311

CTD311 cropped
Happy Hump Day, my friends!  I'm ready for this week to be over already... how about you?  If your week is feeling as long as mine, maybe we can make it better with a little Color Throwdown?  Barbara is our hostess this week with some pretty colors!
swatch 311
I picked up a new stamp set a month ago, and finally got around to using it this week!
CTD311
I just couldn't resist this To Thine Own Shelf stamp set from Simon Says Stamp when I saw it on Debby Hughes' blog awhile back.  That "I blame my shelf" sentiment just CRACKS. ME. UP!  The stamp set comes with a bunch of books and different width shelves and other things to put on the shelf, along with a few other great sentiments.  Very fun set!
For my card layout, I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch #237 for this week, and I used a tag for the focal piece so that I could enter the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Tag It! challenge.

A Day for Daisies – I’m back!!

adfd_dtbadge
Yay, today’s the day I can share that I have rejoined the fabulously talented girls on the A Day for Daisies team!  I had greatly enjoyed my time on this team last year, but after my Dad’s passing last December I had to leave the team for awhile, as stamping took a big back seat to getting through the grief and other issues.  But, while I miss my Dad terribly, life has carried on and I’m so glad to be welcomed back to this team!
Today marks a new release at ADFD… Tammy has once again created some fantastic images you’re doing to love with the new Tiny Teacup Fairies!  There’s also a new challenge today on the ADFD blog
it’s an Anything Goes challenge!  My favorite kind!
So here’s my Tiny Teacup Fairy creation…
Tiny Teacup Fairy tag by Tammy Hershberger
I used the new Tea Time Fairy, and decided to make a tag, and will save this to maybe attach to a box of tea or a sweet teacup to give as a gift!  My image is colored with Copics, printed on X-press It blending card stock.  I wasn’t able to capture it well in my photo but I added some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the wings.
Be sure to stop over at the ADFD blog to check out the challenge details, and I hope that you’ll join us!  And be sure to visit the ADFD team members for more of these adorable images today!

Deconstructed Sketch #169

DS169 cropped
Hey kids, what time is it?  No, NOT Howdy Doody time!  It’s Deconstructed Sketch time!  LOL  (I may be just a little over-tired as a type this!)  Jen’s got a great sketch for us this week.  Check it out!
sketch169
Different, don’t you think?  But give it a try… I think you’ll find some fun possibilities with this!  I’ll admit I was scratching my head at first, trying to come up with an idea but once I got started everything came right together.
DS169
I went with a get well theme for my card because our Catered Crop challenge this week is all about making cards that are “good medicine.”  So I used Get Well Wishes from My Favorite Things, repeatedly stamping the big block letter sentiments for my background in Natural Premium dye ink on kraft card stock.  Then I used the pinked circle from Blueprints 13 on the top left corner, cut from Factory Green card stock, and added some flowers cut from Tangy Orange card stock using Blueprints 12.  The “feel better soon” sentiment is stamping in Olive Hybrid ink on a Whip Cream card stock Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX die cut.  On the lower right side, I added a punched photo corner.
Be sure to stop over at Jen’s blog for all the challenge details, and visit the rest of the team for more inspiration…
Also, be sure to visit Linda’s blog over at the Catered Crop blog for details on the Good Medicine Recipe Swap.

Corner punch is from Stampin’ Up.

Color Throwdown #310

Color Throwdown #310(c) by Tammy Hershberger

Hello friends!  I’m so happy that it’s Wednesday because that means we have another Color Throwdown challenge for you today!  Wanda is our hostess and her colors were inspired by these fun floral embellishments she found on Etsy.

swatch 310

Well, as you’ll see my colors are just a little bolder than the ones in the swatch… the coral cardstock I ended up using turned out more of a reddish-orange in my photos.  :)  But the challenge is all about your interpretation of the colors, so it’s all good.

Color Throwdown #310 by Tammy Hershberger

I have a very dear friend celebrating a birthday (well, actually the birthday was Sunday and I still haven’t mailed the card…. ugh!)  I just had to use this beautiful new Flower Maiden 2 image from A Day for Daisies for her card.  I printed in Copic X-press It blending card stock, and colored with Copics.  On the flowers I added a little sparkle from a clear Wink of Stella pen.  The script in the background and the sentiment both come from the LJD Pretty Poppies stamp set from My Favorite Things, as do many of the Die-Namics I used for my design.

Deconstructed Sketch #168 – Arigato

Deconstructed Sketch #168 cropped by Tammy Hershberger
OK, I’m officially in love!  In love with the FABULOUS Deconstructed Sketch that Jen has for us this week!  I’m LOVING the simplicity of this layout… it opens up all sorts of possibilities!
sketch168
For me, possibility came in the form of a Lawn Fawn stamp set and dies that I’ve owned for months and haven’t used!  Here ya’ go…
Deconstructed Sketch #168 by Tammy Hershberger
My family… we’re sushi lovers, BIG TIME!  So when I saw this Lawn Fawn “Let’s Roll” stamp set and matching dies, I HAD to have them!  And then I did nothing with them… until now!  OMGosh, these stamps are fun to cut, color and arrange.  I colored everything with Copics, added some diagonal stripes in the background using white embossing paste, and embellished with some enamel dots.  Super easy, and fun!
Please stop over at Jen’s blog and check out the current challenge, and join us!  And for plenty of inspiration, visit the team blogs…
Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I appreciate it very much!

Color Throwdown #309

Color Throwdown #309 close-up by Tammy Hershberger

Hello friends!  It's time for another Color Throwdown challenge, and this week Vickie is our hostess.  She found this great quilt to inspire you this week... it's got a bit of a primitive look to it, I think.  I hope gets your creative mojo going so you can play along with us!

swatch 309

You might notice a slightly new feature to our color swatch... NO color names!  That's right, we will no longer be listing specific color names on the swatches.  Just the colors, so it's up to you to match up whatever you have that's most similar.  We hope everyone will like this slight change in format.

My card came together because I needed to make something to send to a man at church, so these colors worked well for a more masculine card, I think...

Color Throwdown #309 by Tammy Hershberger

I started out with a piece of watercolor cardstock, and stamped the BG Patterned Triangles background  in Versamark, then embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder.  Then I dabbed a bit of Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutter distress reinkers on my craft sheet, and using an aqua brush did a color wash on the background.  I die cut a piece of Sno Cone card stock with the Blueprints 11 Die-Namics, and stamped the BG Diagonal Stripes background in Sweet Tooth pigment ink.  Then I used the Die-Namics TRANSFORM-ables Say Hello to cut out the word bubble.  I added the sentiment from Get Well Wishes near the bottom using some Blu Raspberry Premium Dye ink, and mounted the word bubble piece over the background with some foam adhsesive.  I matted this on a piece of Sour Apple card stock, and a Steel Blue card stock base, and finished the design with a few enamel dots.
