CrAzY for cAnDy!!!

Hey everyone, it's my last challenge for October on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog today and also my last challenge as a Crazy Girl! I'm trying to scale back on some of my design commitments and spend more time with family, so I've made the tough decision to leave these Crazies behind.... but I know I'll keep in touch with a lot of 'em! :)

For my challenge today, I decided since it's awfully close to being time for the kiddies to put on their costumes and head out for trick or treat, that we'd incorporate candy into our designs! I decided to simply make some candy treat bags for some of my favorite little kids at church so here are the four that I have done so far (with six more to go!) I just used some plain cello bags for the candy, tied loosely with some black ribbon (for easy access to the sweets!) and added some paper pieced pumpkins using these fabulous pumpkin stamps once again from Outlines Rubber Stamps.
Stop and see what the Crazies have to share with you today...

Flourishes Free for All Friday

It's Fabulous Friday and time for another Free for all Friday from Flourishes! I'm in the Christmas spirit this week with my creation using the Warm Winter Wishes stamp set, and some new Echo Park papers. I stamped my snowman on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics from the Fuschia, Water, Evergreen and Warm Neutrals collections. I used a Nestabilities Labels 8 die to cut out the snowman image, and Circles and Big Scalloped Circles for the sentiment. The scalloped border at the bottom was cut with the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities.
I added some sparkle to my snowman and die-cut snowflakes with some Distress Stickles in Rock Candy and added some Blush Kaisercraft Pearls for embellisment.
Stop and see what the other Flourishes designers have to share with you today, as well...

It's late and I can hardly see straight from my heavy eyelids, so I'll just tell you quick... this stamp set is the Pure Innocence Lil' Pumpkin from My Favorite Things, paired with Crate Paper "Farmhouse" papers. My card layout is based on the Card Positioning Systems sketch #241 for this week.

Timeless Tuesday #141

Makiko is our hostess this week for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge, and she wants us to use trees and/or leaves for our cards and try not to use flowers as the focal image. Check out all the challenge details on the Flourishes blog... one lucky winner each week gets $10 to spend in the Flourishes online store!

For my card, I used the Sweet Days of Summer stamp set, along with papers from the 1-2-3 Create Kit for this month, the "Sunshine" line from My Mind's Eye. I cut out my image with the Labels 1 Nestabilities and embellished with some lace, seam binding and black rhinestone Prima flourishes.
Stop and check out the inspiration from the Timeless Tuesday team...

CrAzY for Clean and Simple

It's week #4 out of 5 of my challenges over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog, and this week I'm hitting y'all with a doozie! :) Clean and simple, one layer cards! I know, everyone is now running away and screaming, right? C'mon... that's what a challenge is! :) Give it a try! It'll set you free!

Here are some GREAT examples I found for inspiration in the galleries on Splitcoaststampers from Lori Tecler, elmo98ca, Taylor Usry, and mamamostamps.

For my card, I decided to use my fabulous Acorn Die & Stamp set from Lil' Inker Designs, and an embossed square for this quick, simple design. The papers I used on my acorn and from Crate Paper, and I added a quick little twine bow for embellishment.

Stop and see what the other Crazies have created today....

Flourishes Friday Free-for-All

So, did you enjoy all the new release sneak peeks with Flourishes last week? The new sets are all so beautiful, I think you'll agree! The Sr. Design Team today has a few more cards to share with you using the new sets, so be sure to click on their links down below and check them out!

For my card today, I'm using the Season of Celebrations stamp set. These sledding kids is such a classic-looking image and I love that even though it's a silhouette stamp, there's still some detail in the image, too! I paired my image with some My Mind's Eye "Be Merry" paper. I stamped the image in Vintage Sepia Versafine ink on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, cut it out with the Curved Rectangle Nestabilities, and sponged inside the die with some Tumbled Glass distress ink. The scalloped border was cut with the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities, and I added some clear Zva rhinestones to each scallop. The layout for my card was inspired by this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Stop at the other Flourishes Designers' blogs to see their creations today using the new release stamps...

If you like what you see, there's still time to pick up the New Release Bundle! Through the end of the day TODAY you can get all four sets at 10% off the regular price! Check it out HERE!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Fight Like a Girl!

Well, apparently no one really liked the last Hope You Can Cling To card that I posted, but maybe this one today will be better received!? :)

My card for today was made as a sample for my friend Barbara Anders' HYCCT challenge today. Bar's challenge is "Big or Small, Save Them All." Breast cancer isn't picky, it doesn't care what size your ta-tas are--the physical and emotional toll it takes is enormous, regardless. And, although it's rare, it also attacks children. So, let's "support" them all by using two sizes of any geometric shape on your project. Circles, rectangles, squares, ovals you choose!

For my card, I used the new "Fight Like a Girl" ala' mode from My Favorite Things, and this Me & My Big Ideas breast cancer-themed paper that Bar gave me.

Here's a close-up of my coloring and you can also see the sparkle I added to her shorts with a Sakura Gelly Roll glaze pen.
And on the inside I added another sentiment, and cut one of the glittery pink ribbons out from the paper.
If you haven't had a chance to join in the challenges this month over at SCS, there's still time to get involved and some FABULOUS prizes to be had! Check out all the challenges here on the Master Thread.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your visits and comments!

Hey everyone, it's Color Throwdown time again! Broni is our hostess this week and she's chosen a great color combo for Halloween! Stop over at the Throwdown blog for all the details, and to enter your own creation. We'd love to see what you create!

I didn't really do Halloween with my card, but it is Fall-themed! Just LOOK! My Mavis addiction has been fed! I pestered Christy Croll for a new Mavis image until she cracked, and just LOOK at what she did! IS. MAVIS. NOT. DARLING???? Christy is amazing!
She's the new Fall Queen! Stop over at the Tiddly Inks online store and get our own Mavis Fall Queen image along with TONS of other wonderful images that Christy has drawn! And check out the Tiddly Inks blog where there is a Fall Cards contest also going on!

My CTD sisters have some amazing inspiration for you using these colors, so be sure to visit their blogs...
