Bellarific Friday

Hey everyone, happy Bellarific Friday! For today's challenge, the Babes and the Sistahood are creating popped-up cards... get out that foam tape and pop dots and raise up the stuff on your card!

For my card, I decided to use Spooooooky Stella, along with some "Phantom" papers from Pink Paislee. Stella is colored with Copics on Bella's Bestest White cardstock.

I cut out an extra pumpkin and the bat from the image and mounted them with foam tape for added dimension, as you can see here (but of course, Stella's arm looks a little disjointed from this angle!) I also cut my letters out on the Cricut and mounted them with foam tape, too!
I hope you'll stop over at Blogabella and check out all the popped-up creations from the Babes, and the Bella Sistahood! Ya' know anyone who participates is in the running to win some major Bella Bucks to spend in the online store! AND just for leaving a comment on the Bellarific Friday post at Blogabella you can ALSO win some Bella Bucks! Just for leavin' a comment! How easy is that?

Now, if you want to play along with us next week all you have to do is create a card using Stamping Bella stamps and Fall colors! Easy-peasy lemon squeezie, so no excuses.... JOIN US! Email your creation to Emily by Thursday evening!

Happy World Card Making Day (Eve)!

In honor of World Card Making Day on Saturday, October 1st, the Flourishes Sr. Design Team is kicking things off one day early in a wild and wacky fashion! Have we got a challenge for you! It's all about that inner kid and why we love card making in general - we get to be creative! So, think like a kid and share your favorite animated character. Find a picture of that character and then be inspired by the colors for one fun-filled color challenge! We'll take entries through next Thursday, October 6th at 5PM EST. The winner of this challenge gets a fun-filled prize pack with 5 Flourishes stamp sets of our choice. Once you're done with your creation, simply link up on this post on the Flourishes blog using our Inlinkz widget. And if you upload to Splitcoaststampers, please use the keyword FLLCWCMD11. Th-th-tha-that's all folks!

When I was asked about my favorite cartoon character, I immediately thought of the Care Bears! Now admittedly, I did not watch Care Bears cartoons... my Care Bears were in the form of stuffed animals. When I was in high school my best friend bought me Friend Bear (shown in the graphic) for my birthday one year, and when my husband (who was my boyfriend way back then) came along he kept buying me more of them! I think I had about a dozen altogether! LOL So I just had to have my good ol' Friend Bear for the challenge today.

I found this old polka dotted paper in my stash... sorry, no clue what company it's from but I thought it was a pretty perfect match to my bear. I used the Gerber Daisies stamp set for my card, so the yellow flower centers were also perfect to go with my bear. The daisies were cut out with a Petite Oval Nestabilities, and matted on a Labels Eighteen. My yellow gingham (Authentique paper) border was made with the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities, and I added some stitching all around the perimeter, too. Then the card was finished off with a seam binding bow, and my button/tag/sentiment combo.

Here’s the fun part... all of the Flourishes Design team picked their favorite characters — so you’ll have to hop around and see which ones made the top of their lists!

Have fun with this challenge, and thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #161

Kristin is our hostess for the Color Throwdown this week, and I am just LOVING the color combo she chose! It's based on the lovely papers I used on my card... a package of digital papers she designed for My Time Made Easy called Trendy Forest. With all these cute trees, I thought Mavis on her swing would be perfect for my card today!

OK, so I'm trying out this new Inlinkz manager this week and thought I'd try it to link up my team mates. I really like using it to link up the products I used, but I don't know if I'll like it for team links.... we'll see.

Below are thumnails for the products I used on my card! With this fabulous new tool, you can just click on the photos and be taken right to the website where they're available!

Happy stamping!

Timeless Tuesday #137

Hello, everyone! I’m bringing you today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge. Whether we want to face reality or not, the holidays will be here before we know it so let’s start gearing up now for setting a beautiful holiday table! I’m challenging you today to create something to adorn your table and make it festive. There’s no limit to what you can do, and I know the Timeless Tuesday designers will have some great inspiration for you (they're all linked up below!) Even one of our Sr. Design Team members has great inspiration to share with you, as Christine Okken used the latest new release A Season of Thanks to create a beautiful Thanksgiving grouping for her table. Check it out HERE on her blog!

I decided to create some place cards for my Thanksgiving table, using the Seasonal Wreaths stamp set from Flourishes. Each place card is cut from a Labels One Nestabilities die, and the wreaths were cut with a Large Standard Circle die. I cut a smaller Labels One die from Basic Grey “Bittersweet” papers to layer, and then assembled each place card, using a Nested Pennant Sentiment Flag for the “name” part of the card. I stamped the “Gratitude” sentiment on the lower right of each pennant, as well. These are for my immediate family, and more will be quickly made once I know who else is comin’ to dinner!

Now, take a peek at what the other Timeless Tuesday designer have created for today…

Stop by the Flourishes blog for all the challenge details, and your chance to win $10 to spend in the Flourishes online store! We'd love to have you play along!

Bella Monday "Somebunny"

It's Bella Monday here at my blog, and for today's card I decided to ink up one of my very neglected Stamping Bella "Lollipop" stamps from Lori Boyd. This little sweetie had some ink on the rubber, but I really don't remember ever putting her on a card, so today was her lucky day! (I found out after my card was made and posted that the Lollipops are no longer in stock at the Stamping Bella store, but there are plenty of other ADORABLE images just waiting for you to bring them home!)

She is colored on Bella's Bestest Cream cardstock with Copic markers and paired with some My Mind's Eye "Vanity Fair" papers. I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for the layout.
Dontcha' just love her cute little bunny slippers? Smiley from millan.net

Happy Monday... happy stamping! Thanks for dropping by!

Ribbon Inspiraton/Stamp Simply Style - Lace

Hidee-hoo! I'm back today with another post, this time with the Stamp Simply Team as we create cards using all kinds of lace from the Stamp Simply Store! This is a Mystery Blog Candy Hop, meaning the winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs (linked below!), so leaving a comment on each blog will greatly increase your chances of winning all the goodies in the photo below! But only one comment per blog, please. The winner will be selected at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, September 27 and will be posted on Sharon’s blog on Tuesday night or Wednesday, so please check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner! Good luck!

For my card, I have used some wonderful May Arts brown crochet lace that's 1 1/2" wide. Over the lace, I layered some 1/2" ivory wrinkle ribbon that I dyed with a little bit of Antique Linen ink. My sentiment/Scripture is the Verve Plain Jane Proverbs 3:5, and beneath the sentiment I stamped one of the La Blanche "Meadow" stamps. I cut this piece out with a Petite Oval Nestabilities, layered it on another oval, and then on a Labels Eighteen die-cut, all from Spellbinders. I also used a Classic Scallop Edgeabilities on the far left side of my card. The chocolate pearls are KaiserCraft, and the papers I used are from the My Mind's Eye "Sunshine" 6x6 pad.

The other girls on the team have some beautiful lacy creations to share with you today, as well! And remember, hop along to each blog and leave comments because somewhere along the way there will be some lacy blog candy!

Happy hopping, and happy stamping! Thanks for visiting my blog today!

CrAzY for Halloween - C4C106

We're getting crazy for Halloween this week on the C4C blog with Bar as our hostess. Just create anything with a Halloween theme and join us for the challenge this week!

For my card I decided to use this cutie-patootie witch from The Cat's Pajamas "Witchy" stamp set and combined it with some Making Memories Halloween paper. Just a simple little layout for a quickie card! Smiley from millan.net

See what the other Crazies have created today, too...

Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for another post today as I spend some more time with the girls from the Stamp Simply team!

Happy stamping!

I added a scalloped Edgeabilities Classic Triple Scallop border under the gingham strip, and embellished with some stitching, some olive green wrinkle ribbon and an old gold button.

Bellarific Friday Sketch

Our Bellarific Friday challenge this week is a sketch from Paulineabella! I hope a bunch of people decided to play along, especially since we had a week off! :) Stop by Blogabella and check out all the entries from the Babes and the Sistahood!

For my card, I couldn't resist using another Uptown Girls image... I just LOVE these leggy chicks! For this card, I used Victoria and Juliette's Night Out which includes a sentiment that I stamped inside my card. The girls are decked out in some gorgeous Fall finery to match the My Mind's Eye paper I used on my card. The girls are colored on Bella's Bestest Cream cardstock with Copic markers.

On the brown dress, I added a thin layer (smoothed out with my finger) of Dried Marigold Distress Stickles, then did the hem of both dresses with glitter. Their shoes are good and sparkly too, since I used Spica glitter pens on them.

On the inside, I stamped the girls again and added the sentiment from the oh-so-eloquent Cyndi Lauper...
I hope you'll stop over at Blogabella and check out all the animal creations from the Babes, and the Bella Sistahood! Ya' know anyone who participates is in the running to win some major Bella Bucks to spend in the online store! AND just for leaving a comment on the Bellarific Friday post at Blogabella you can ALSO win some Bella Bucks! Just for leavin' a comment! How easy is that?

Now, if you want to play along with us next week all you have to do is create a card using Stamping Bella stamps and use dimensional adhesive to pop-up design elements on your card! Email your creation to Emily by Thursday evening!

Thanks for visiting!
